Anti-Virus WITHOUT a Software Firewall isn't a reasonable security solution!

If I didn't use C.I.S. then most likely I would use "Kaspersky Internet Security".
if you don't have internet virus software get free version of comodo internet security. you pay for phone help not the product.
Yes, I have tried Comodo Internet Security for my new computers and it provides good protection. If you are looking for free one, check it out here https://www.comodo.com/home/internet-security/free-internet-security.php
As long as you don't involve yourself in sketchy activities Windows Defender should be good enough.
When I deal with questionable files I do so in a virtual machine with Comodo, so I guess check that out if your not comfortable without a third party antivirus.
I doubt that Avast will work, upon research it seems that the Media Dashboard program (now classified as adware) likes to reinstall itself even when removed by an anti-virus program.
Here's a forum post with a good solution I found. Using Comodo Internet Security (CIS) is part of it, but it's free; you can download it here.
Yeah, that's what I thought. And normally the paid ones tend to offer better protection, and better features for the enterprise anyway.
I just checked though, and apparently the free version of Comodo Internet Security does allow business/enterprise use.
>Is it free for business users too?
>Yes. However, enterprises looking to implement Internet Security on large networks of workstations would benefit from the centralized management capabilities of Comodo Endpoint Security Manager (CESM).

What about Comodo? It's literally a full antivirus suite for free. Firewall, email protection, antivirus, sandbox, etc.
Use Comodo... It's free, has no shitty advertisements, and is a VERY strong AV suite (Comes with firewall).
Make sure you do the "advanced" installation, though. It does have some pretty annoying stuff bundled, but thankfully you can uncheck it all.
u/muhmansurtum, Thanks for reaching out. The best way to understand how or where Comodo stands up to against our competition is to test our solution for yourself. If you are with a business, I'm sure your comfortable testing out malware or someone within your department might be comfortable testing. We can actually work with you on a proof of concept if there's interest.
If on the other hand you are an individual asking this for person PC use, I would suggest taking a look at the product specifications, or other recent independent testing videos which are scattered all over YouTube.

To my knowledge the only free AV which includes a firewall is Comodo's free IS - https://www.comodo.com/home/internet-security/free-internet-security.php
Given that it is HQ'd in the USA though, it's beholden to similar vague 'national security'-related laws as Kaspersky is in Russia. The same can be said for pretty much every AV in every country.
What lead you to say that Kaspersky is 'sponsored' by the Russian government?
Most solutions can [only] detect known or older malware samples that have infected a multitude of PC’s around the world. The only one I’ve had luck with is Comodo’s AEP solution, which contains/stops unknown or yet to be rated malware. Their home solution works quite well and I think is free, link below Comodo AV
If anyone says Norton or McAfee, don't listen to them.
Get Malwarebytes and Comodo Internet Security (free firewall, anti-virus, sandboxing, etc).
always start in safe mode and do full scans on all drives.
Another solution would be Comodo live disk, you can burn it to a flash drive or cd and boot to it instead of windows so the virus doesn't spread and scan all your drives.

Get Internet Security Suite (CIS) from Comodo. CIS has BOClean Anti-Malware feature, it kills malicious processes before they can cause harm. Visit here: https://www.comodo.com/home/internet-security/free-internet-security.php
Try Superantispyware http://filehippo.com/download_superantispyware/ , My antivirus and firewall is Comodo Internet Security, and its free. https://www.comodo.com/home/internet-security/free-internet-security.php?track=2737&key5sk0=2737&key5sk1=fdfb2865492e05801b35bb3ac245c373e35b6921
I would recommend a Internet Security Suite (Antivirus & Firewall ).
For Example here are Free Internet Security Suites Personally I use Comodo https://www.comodo.com/home/internet-security/free-internet-security.php
Comodo Internet Security Software have Game Mode – Switches Comodo Internet Security to Game Mode to enable you to play your games without any interruptions from various alerts in your computer. The operations that can interfere with users’ gaming experience are either suppressed or postponed.
In game mode:
1) Defense+/Firewall alerts are suppressed as if they are in training mode; 2) AV database updates and scheduled scans are postponed until the gaming is over; 3) Automatic isolation of unknown applications and real-time virus detection are still functional.

Nobody has mentioned Comodo Internet Security! The difference between the free and paid version is the support. If you can figure it out on your own it's a great AV.
Virus/malware has evolved so much that the best way to get good usability without sacrificing drawbacks such as huge signature updates is to use a SANDBOX.
Whatever the Comodo AV engine doesn't recognize, it runs in the sandbox environment. It doesn't quarantine, deny access or ask the end user wtf to do...it just runs it in the Sandbox!

If you're choosing between Avast and AVG I would recommend Avast.
If free in general, Comodo beats everyone by a mile in my opinion, when it comes to security. If you want maximum security it will ask some popup questions sometimes but you can disable it.Comodo is better ad blocking PUP programs according to my tests. It is also the only free internet security that comes with a powerful firewall.

I'm not affiliated with Comodo.
I'd personally go for Kaspersky Internet Security (goes for about 36 quids now) if I'm looking for a paid solution and Comodo Internet Security for a free one.
I'm using Comodo, by the way, and it's been good so far.
