Try using this. It mutes ads on spotify so you don't have to hear that shit. You get an odd silence every now and then, but its better than being assaulted by crackers.

Use this to mute them. Spotify still registers that you listened to the ad so they don't lose money over it . It just mutes ads doesn't skip them, so you will still have a break between songs when the ad plays. Its a little wonky when playing local files sometimes treating them as ads and muting them but works perfectly for real ads.
I went looking for this after that exact ad. Fucking O'Reilly's autoparts made me want to strangle babies everytime it played.
Well if I'm not allowed to post this, mods let me know, and feel free to delete this post.
So I've been using this http://www.ericzhang.me/projects/spotify-ad-blocker-ezblocker/ (latest version) for the past few months, and I haven't heard an ad since. The main function of this program is to mute the ads. It's quite simple to use, just run it, then let it mute the ads, and the ads are gone forever, in my case. I don't even need to run the program anymore. And even with newer updates to Spotify, ads are non-existent.
Exactly.
For the ads in spotify: There are certain programs that mute ads automatically, you just get around 30 seconds of silence when that happens and then the music picks up normally again.
If you own an Adroid phone you can just install the tablet. Link
Paying for Premium would be too easy ;)
I haven't found any free rippers. I've seen some paid ones, but they looked shitty. I'm ripping with Audacity using "what you hear". It won't be 1:1 copy, but close enough.
It can be a bit tricky finding the correct input level (it can't be too high or too low), though you shouldn't have to change it for every song/album. One setting seems to work fine.
Use EZ Blocker if you wanna block the ads, though it's not really needed. It's easy to see and cut out the ads. It doesn't work if Spotify is minimized to the traybar, also it won't catch all ads.
I save the files as FLAC and convert with foobar2000 (using LAME) to mp3. I don't really remember why. I don't think you can't save as mp3 directly or it was just tricky to fix.
Set both PC and Spotify volume at max as correct input level will be different depending what volume you have.
Sometimes I've had to cut out some noice at the start. It's not in the actual music but right before it starts. I.e. I start recording in Audacity and a couple seconds later press play in Spotify. In those few seconds sometimes their some noice/glitch.
Found this a while ago (from their wiki I think): > For most purposes, an optimal recording level is such that when your input is at its loudest, the maximum peak on the meters is around –6.0 dB (or 0.5 if you have your meters set to linear rather than dB). This will give you a good level of signal compared to the inherent noise in any recording, but without creating distortion. Distortion is often referred to as clipping , because at this point there are not enough bits available to represent the sound digitally, so they are cut off above this point.
>If the level is set too low, your audio will have background noise when you turn the volume up to hear it properly. If the level is too high, you will hear distortion.

It's a Spotify ad blocker which automatically mutes known ads without them pausing and lets you mute any ad it doesn't catch.
I was curious and did a cursory Google search and found this guy's project It works for the desktop. I haven't tried it for Android yet. But it's pretty nifty.
As far as I know, EZ Blocker can tell you what is currently plaing by popping out notification that this song is not blocked. So there must be way.
EzBlocker hace el trabajo de d10s
Tambien está para android, lastima que ahora el spotify para android solo te deja escuchar en aleatorio

Get EZBlocker, it mutes and plays spotify during commercials so while you still have to listen to silence, you don't have to have your smooth jazz interrupted with one direction segments.

Unfortunately that didn't work, but it reminded me of something I installed that might have affected it.
For some reason, EZBlocker causes this issue when enabling the accessibility option. Looks like I'll be turning that option off when not using Spotify.
