For shits and giggles, I tried it.

I was going to type this up.. Then I found this site: http://www.free-ocr.com/
>People are angrier with Trump for imposing a visa ban on Yemen than they ever were with Obama for bombing and killing Yemenis and backing a barbaric Saudi war that pushed parts of Yemen to the brink of famine. They're angrier with Trump for imposing a temporary ban on Syrian refugees coming to America than they ever were with the Obama policies that helped rip Syria apart and saturate it with weaponry and which created those refugees in the first place. They're angrier with Trump for his Mexico wall than they ever were with Obama for kicking out more Mexicans than any president in history or with Hillary for voting for the building of a 700-mile security barrier between America and Mexico -- you know, a wall. It's bizarre. Obama is a saint even though he caused mayhem, and Trump is a fascist basically for saying: "Oh shit, there's mayhem." If you adore Obama then I'm sorry but you have forfeited your right to be taken seriously on Trump.
If I understand correctly, you want a program to do optical character recognition, which can be pretty difficult, depending on how clear your image is (that's why we have things like ReCaptcha, for when machines can't do it).
You could try Googling OCR; one result that comes up is Free-OCR, though I'm not sure if it'll work for your purposes.
Save yourself some work next time: http://www.free-ocr.com/
EDIT: Ok that didn't work so well on this image, but it's still useful:

If you're insisting on dwelling in prehistory, it's in one of the screencapped chatlogs in The Zoe Post.
There's no good way to search them (except maybe OCR), and you seem more interested in it than I am, so dig in.
Made me think of this image of a facebook posting - don't recall where I saw it, but it sums up my feelings.
And, because text is better as text, here's the actual text: > We were discussing homosexuality because of an allusion to it in the book we were reading, and several boys made comments such as,“That's disgusting." We got into the debate and eventually a boy admitted that he was terrified/disgusted when he was once sharing a taxi and the other male passenger made a pass at him. The lightbulb went off. “Oh,” I said. “I get it. See, you are afraid, because for the first time in your life you have found yourself a victim of unwanted sexual advances by someone who has the physical ability to use force against you." The boy nodded and shuddered visibly.“But," I continued. “As a woman, you learn to live with that from the time you are fourteen, and it never stops. We live with that fear every day of our lives. Every man walking through the parking garage the same time you are is either just a harmless stranger or a potential rapist. Every time."The girls in the room nodded, agreeing. The boys seemed genuinely shocked. “So think about that the next time you hit on a girl. Maybe, like you in the taxi, she doesn't actually want you to.
(With thanks to http://www.free-ocr.com/ for doing free no-registration simple OCR of the text, because fuck typing it out!)
I hate it when people say “Fuck the police”.
Don‘t just fuck the police.
Take the police out on a couple dates. Take the police to the movies or a nice stroll in the park. Feed the police some delicious food. Make the police fall in love with you. Then, fuck the police. And then out of nowhere, stop taking calls from the police. Ignore the police. Make the police miss you. Make the police cry.

> is this captcha as secure as the usual random string of words with alpha-numeric characters?
No, Plain text captchas like this are way easier to crack for bots these days (Thanks to machine learning). There are also lot of online tools that do the job for you (Something like this )
Task based captchas like the ones from reCaptcha are the best solution if you want a secure way to distinguish humans from bots.
This is what I use for cutting cards. It makes mistakes sometimes so you might have to look through some cards to correct them, but for the most part it is pretty good. You can only use it 10 times per hour, but you can just do it in an incognito tab and do it as many times as you want.
There is one, rather long-winded way. It still requires screen-shotting, but doesn't require any typing.
I tried http://www.free-ocr.com/ + http://translate.google.com/ and got some dates and random bits:
q 7Td1? '?""$% E'E1 January 11%')? 3 "' _ -> - EG 'h = <bd, b, A 'E''^,-'"' d ',% 1 ^ in' A 51 n m n grad r: nt. "O" is, n \ - \ d>> _ , NW <1 -=,;<; E3: E'5 'F and n and r and b r '. T '! E 'T \ '3 o' e P s, n February 2 F
Can you convert them to plain text? Many free online tools will do this, but I don't know how well they'll handle columns.
Edit: d'oh, you said "image pdf". Umm, any chance you've tried OCR software? There are some online tools that I haven't personally tried.
Not really used anything for this but a quick Google search came across this site Free-OCR
It does seem to have a limit to the amount of images you can upload in an hour and, having tested it with some simple words in photo format, it seems to produce adequate results.
Because it took me going through several other online translator utilities to get what looks like a verbatim result, I’m going to recommend http://www.free-ocr.com as a good OCR utility. It does show a couple google ads. Use at your own discretion; seems too good to get something for nothing, but it seemed to be harmless.
I would first try to find a free OCR program that you can use or modify to use. These things aren't simple to create but there are plenty that exist in many forms that I'm sure you can find something you can hack together. Take a look at this one I found for an example. If all else fails and the text is very clear and fixed width and no fancy colors or formatting or anything, you might even be able to make something yourself that detects specific letters, but I would highly recommend finding an existing option before recreating this wheel.
One thing I should mention, if the text is plain in a separate window, is it highlightable and copyable? Or is it rendered as an image like a game? If it's text you can highlight can copy, then there are other solutions you can use with that. Google will be your friend here.
I had a hell of a time using essay punch. I would not recommend it all. It wont let you use your essay unless you upgrade to a paid. If you do use it i recommend using http://www.free-ocr.com/ (a picture to text website) and the windows snipping tool.
You really do have no idea what you're talking about. Look up OCR, it's what Adobe uses to recognize text in scanned documents.
Here is a shitty OCR that manages to get 3 of the numbers in the captcha. http://www.free-ocr.com/
Knowing those 3 numbers, you can do a string comparison with the list of parameters.
What you need is an OCR program. "OCR, is a technology that enables you to convert different types of documents, such as scanned paper documents, PDF files or images captured by a digital camera into editable and searchable data."
There are options like this (I know nothing about this particular service) http://www.free-ocr.com/ or plenty of paid versions. Any chance you have a DVD laying around from when you purchased your scanner that has the words OCR on it?
It will prob produce a Word doc but just open with Libre.
Sorry it took so long to get back to you. You can use adobe acrobat pro to do it. Also a lot of scanners come with the ability as well. If neither one of those are available to you there is a place online you can grab free OCR. http://www.free-ocr.com Hope this helps.
No clue what people use for this now, but the term you are looking for is "OCR" or "optical character recognition." Scanners used to come with software to do it.
The second link on Google is: http://www.free-ocr.com/
I just tried it with a random pdf from school and it worked great.
