Ah, man. I had that for the ZX Spectrum and its HUUGE 48K RAM.
Just found out that there is a Spectrum emulator: http://fuse-emulator.sourceforge.net/ and the game is available: https://worldofspectrum.org/archive/software/games/graham-goochs-test-cricket-audiogenic-software-ltd
Guess what I'll be doing this weekend?
$ sox ./basic7.wav -r 44100 -b 8 ./basic7_mono.wav $ fuse-gtk ./basic7_mono.wav
Alas I'm a Mac and Linux user so can't provide too much of direct help; but I've found Fuse to be an excellent option everywhere that I've tried it, and it seems like it has a Windows port with ordinary Windows menus that'll just act sensibly.
Otherwise, both ZeSarUX and Retro Virtual Machine tend to get great reviews but both have weird UIs. In the former case it's all drawn Spectrum-style and big on menus you scroll through, in the latter it's skeuomorphism-a-gogo and it has a — to me — fairly unintuitive project-oriented library for running software.
But all should run at the correct speed, at least.
I’ve used a lot of different emulators for Windows over the years, and Fuse is still good, but my current go to is ZXSpectrum4.net
https://tuckersoft.net/ealing20541/static/nohzdyve.tap here you goooo. have fuuun. also, in case you haven't noticed, you're going to need an emulator to use it! for windows/mac i recommend fuse http://fuse-emulator.sourceforge.net/
