Photo contact widget, GTasks and Jorte.
I find GTasks better on phone and tab due to it's widget stuffing more items in. Tasks and GTasks have similar trial and pay versions, so it really comes down to looks (Tasks is better), and the widget (GTasks has better widgets).
The Play Store screenshots only show the large text widget, the small fits double the text. FYI
Sure! But first here's one that does everything Tasks does but looks better: GTasks
Anyway, here's a start
A clean and clear intuitive interface that generally requires minimal navigation to use (try to flatten nested options as much as possible, without overcrowding the interface)
Quick navigation between lists (not necessarily a horizontal swipe)
A calendar view that displays timed list items
The ability to override the universal sort setting in individual lists
In-line shortcuts: quickly add details when batch adding list items (Example: "Maths Final nov 5" becomes "Maths Final" with date november 5th)
Color tags (Create a tag, assign to it a certain color, then get an option to add a tag when creating a new item)
Priority flags
Nested task lists (showing the nested items in the same view)
This is more of an answer to "What would your dream task/note app lood like?" but whatever :D
I'd be really interested to see what you eventually come up with!
My wife and I share an extra Google account (we each have our own, and then we share a third). We use the Google tasks for the shopping list.
We then use https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.dayup.gtask to share the list.
Gtasks is an option.
Really, you'll play around and pick a solution you like.
Earlier I used GTasks. This is basically an android app for Google Tasks but not by Google. All tasks are synced with Google Tasks (Calendar).
But now I just use Google Keep. Simplest of all and does the job perfectly.
I try to plan the objectives, not the implementation. All roads lead to rome and whatnot. That being said i have also stopped trying to strangle the chaos out of my life and have thusly embraced entropy. Too much order can be as stifling and make you feel as helpless as too much mayhem. Being able to think on your feet and be spontaneous can be just as helpful as the ability to stick to a plan.
Edit: For what i do plan I use Google Calendar by way of Sunrise Calendar (here is the android version) and augment it with some Tasks (and gtasks) and reminders from either Google Keep or Google Now.
I have my to-do list on Workflowy as was mentioned before, so this is like non-time dependent stuff.
And then for time dependent stuff I use Google calendar to track appointments etc and also for my task list. There's instructions on how to bring your task list up on the side of your calendar here
I have the Workflowy app on both my tab and my phone so I can look at/add/complete stuff basically anywhere. Google calendar comes as standard, and I downloaded GTasks which syncs to Google Calendar Tasks aaaaand gives me reminders on both my phone and tab to do stuff at certain times.
Instead of using different inboxes in Gmail, you could try adding them into categories, which should be down the left hand sidebar on the webpage :)
Eh...
There's an app literally called GTasks, in which you can find a setting that makes your Google Calendar events show up as well.
Open app -> Menu -> Edit tasks lists -> Check "Calendar" -> Enjoy.
It shows the events you've got planned for the next 7 days in the widget, not sure if you can change that or not, but for me it's a very suitable limit.
Not sure if that's a full verison feature, since I bought i a long time ago.
But yeah, definitely recommend giving it a shot.

I'm also looking for a simple one. With a clean customizable widget, but they're hard to find. I've literally tried like 12 apps.
My Top ones on the list so far but not sure how the widgets are:
This last one I just found... and It's probably what I'll use at the moment. It's really fast and has a lot of options. Just wish it had google tasks sync. but the widget is somewhat customizable.
