Hi! Sorry, I wasn't able to process this issue back then. If you're still interested, there are actually a couple of options to use this extension on mobile platforms (only Android, to be precise). First there's Kiwi Browser that supports Chrome extensions out of the box. Then there's somewhat more trustworthy Firefox Nightly, but to use the extension there some additional steps are required:
That's it. I've checked both browsers, and it seems to work like a charm.
Or just use Recipe Filter chrome extension in Kiwi Browser and it does it automatically on 98% of websites.
You got told a few options like Firefox and Brave. Another one is Kiwi Browser. It's Chromium based but surprisingly well performant and compatible with Chrome Web Store addons.
There is no simply easy-to-use port of youtube-dl (which supports a lot of websites!) for android I've heard about.
One possible solution would be installing chromium-browser with desktop extension support like Kiwi Browser (it's now FOSS) and then install some FOSS extension for chrome - I didn't tried but VideoDownloadHelper looks promising.
Yeah, same thought. Among other options, I was gonna send this as a message at https://kiwibrowser.com/contact/ but it keeps getting an error on my end, maybe because it's too long. I will send this as an email later or maybe in discord.
I don't think they do as good a job, but it has sane defaults. DDG and Startpage are included for search, it has an adblocker built in and can disable use of AMP . Check out the features.
Pale Moon itself is up to date and well patched, notwithstanding FUD to the contrary. They don't follow the crazy rabid release scheme of forcing a new release every couple of weeks as started by Chrome and copied by Firefox, so don't go by version numbers.
Current version of Pale Moon is 28.7.2, and they have a separate beta and nightly update channel.
Choices are far worse on mobile - it's down to the big two there. I use Kiwi Browser, which while being a Chrome offshoot, supports Chrome extensions unlike others. So I have uBlock Origin for adblocking installed on it.
Of course if you really need syncing of history/bookmarks between mobile and desktop then Pale Moon isn't for you.
