If anyone is interested in this but doesn't want to spend $5 per month on a journal app, here are some open source alternatives:
I haven't tried any of these, and I'm sure that there are others, probably several with a fixed, one time cost, as opposed to $60/yr.

Google Keep is the first app comes to my mind, as long as you are happy with giving your data to Google. If you are concerned about privacy -I think all of us should- I recommend Lifeograph.

This is a great idea. For those on Linux, lifeograph is a similar encrypted journal application. I can highly recommend it. It also exists for Windows and Android but I haven't used those.
