Set up an account, search and add the shows you want and everything is taken care of. I've used it for about 4 or 5 years and it has never let me down.
I use MyEpisodes, which looks like this after setting up which shows you follow. In my case it's off by one day because I'm in another timezone or something.
I've used MyEpisodes for about 4 years now. It's clean, simple and quite extensive.
I'll give this new site a go, but honestly I doubt anything could beat MyEpisodes, and I'm surprised I haven't seen it mentioned already.
Hopefully this will be useful, but you might want to check out - http://www.myepisodes.com - you can set a list of your favorite shows, and it will tell you when they're airing. Then just put a checkmark after you've watched it. I've been using it for years!
I'd still love something like myepisodes.com but for books. basically cataloging what I have, what I want and what I've read. librarything might be close to it but it's not free if you have more than 200 books.
I did some searching and found icheckmovies and criticker for movies only, and myepisodes for TV shows only.
I personally can't watch shows at normal speed anymore. Everything feels like it's in slow motion. Thankfully, youtube has a playback speed modifier. For everything else, there's download/rip and play with your player of choice.
I'm not sure how many TV show junkies there are in this sub, but I'm one of them. I keep up to date with http://www.myepisodes.com . Here's a pic of my "time wasted" tab. http://postimg.org/image/3nil7lj5j/full/
If it wasn't for faster playback, many shows would just be too boring. I managed to get through 8 episodes of Outlander recently, only because I skipped boring parts, and played the video at 1.75x speed with subs. God that show is boring, but I really wanted to give it a chance.
The only show I've not been able to fully appreciate at 1.5x speed is Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law. That show just fires jokes non-stop and while you're laughing at one, another comes. For all other shows, I find 1.5x to be perfect.
Anyway, just seeing what other people think. Wasn't sure where to post this, but I figure why not in one of my favorite subreddits.
I use http://www.myepisodes.com/. Doesn't seem like the most elegant solution for you. It generally shows up every episode, but if you marked all episodes except the last one as watched it would only show up as the last episode airs.
Edit: Ah, sorry, it's not an app.
I use a site called My Episodes you tell it what tv shows you watch, and you can then make an RSS feed with each episode as it comes out. I have mine hooked up to IFTTT so that I even get emails about new episodes.
I use MyEpisodes, but mainly for the ability to track my progress through full series. I rarely use the calendar function, so I have no idea how it compares to these other sites. It does have a variety of personalized RSS feeds here, one of which might suit your needs.
