App:
More than just a digital planner. It sends you reminders and allows you to check off any assignments, projects and what not.
Available on iPhones, Androids, and Windows Phones.
Not sure if this is something you are looking for, but just leaving it here.
Regarding #4:
I suggest myHomeworkApp.com it's what got me through college. It works on a browser, on iOS, on Android, and they also have Mac/PC apps. You can even subscribe to your homework calendar and your homework will show up on your personal calendar on your phone.
I really like Asana and it does everything you’re asking.
Alternatively, if it’s specifically for school, the MyHomework app is great. It’s free. You do have the option to pay for a few features and to remove ads but the free version is great too https://myhomeworkapp.com - I’m not sure if this allows the sub task breakdown though, but it may.
I used https://myhomeworkapp.com for years. Web and mobile apps, cloud-synced. Worked well for all my purposes. There's a free version and paid version. I think the subscription was like $2/year - very reasonable.
I personally have two apps/organizers:
myHomework ! this is a HUGE life saver, especially since you can use it on the web, as a desktop app, a tablet, and your phone. You can color code your classes, set up your class schedules (even has an option to put the days you have class, the times, and if they have different times on different days), etc. You can input your assignments by category (like exams, papers, readings, homework, presentation, etc.) and set a priority for them, which I think is super great. There is also an option to set reminders for you to complete that assignment or a general heads up.
There's a free version and a "premium" version, but I've been using the free version for years now and it has kept me so organized with my classes and assignments. Everything is connected on my devices and transitions seamlessly. This really sounds like a paid comment tbh but it really is so essentially to have, especially if you don't like physical planners.
myhomework app is free if you don't mind ads. Works on almost any operating system, including Kindle's weak version of Android.
It's an alternative to iStudiezPro, which only works on iOS, OSX and PC.
Another one to use would be Trello.com. It's a project management board for keeping track of your projects and is available on mobile.
I use an app called myHomework that does pretty much the same thing. I like that you can also prioritize assignments (so I can see everything that's coming up, then filter it to just big projects/exams). The interface is solid, it has a great web app, and the free version does pretty much anything you'd need it to do.
myHomework and Calendar (on mac)
I have lots of assignments, events, and meetings to attend. They really help me keep up with everything.
The fact that the calendar syncs with my iPhone is a big plus!
I don't usually go for apps, but this one helped me tremendously last semester:
It's incredibly easy to use once you put in your class schedule and has a great reminder regiment.
