If you want to hardlink every duplicate together (not good for files you plan to ever modify), there's this finddupe command line tool which includes source code.
If you just want a gui app to find duplicates, SearchMyFiles recently added a duplicates search.
While I highly recommend BC (I purchased a copy), it won't automatically find duplicates for you...
Use another tool to find areas which maybe duplicated and BC can be very handy to examine and even merge those differences on a folder structure level (until ultimately you can delete one copy). It has a very generous free trial period btw.
Couple tools I use in conjunction with BC - SearchMyFiles and Everything.
Everything isn't a classic dupe-finder, but it indexes your filesystem fast and has a few cool search terms like dupe:, dmdupe:, and sizedupe: that can really hone in on possible duplicates.
Did you try adding wildcards to your search term? ie., *snare*?
If that doesn't work, I always found Windows Search to be woefully inadequate, and prefer to use this little piece of freeware from Nirsoft:
Go to the link below, scroll to the bottom of the page and either download the standard or x64 bit version. You don't have to install it, and it comes with no bloat or adware. Just download and run.
Meh, I like http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/search_my_files.html
The interface is very up front with you. I just don't like the idea of indexing. There's never a guarantee that the index is up to date. And MS' indexing has left a poor impression on me that I'm doubtful anyone else is doing it right.
The best one I know (recommended by Lifehacker) is dupeGuru Picture Edition. Give it a shot, hope it works for you.
I also use SearchMyFiles. It is excellent (as all Nirsoft freeware) but the interface is spartan and you need to invest some time to find how to use it.
it could be some mod (e.g. economy adjuster) using the first greeting, try looking for *.es? files containing the string forcegreeting

and remove half of them from your loading order until you find the culprit
i'll have to give "listary" a try, thanks for the heads-up! i've been using "everything" for quite a while successfully. on occasion i do use a handy little utility from the amazing vaults of nirsoft (which are always free) called "SearchMyFiles" - it ain't pretty, but as all of nirsoft products, it works very well for my needs.

check out some of the other utilities there too, if you like to tinker around with your rig!
... off to give "listary" a try! :)
