> "Clinton special."
The IT team for presidential candidate Hillary Clinton used the open source cleaning software BleachBit to wipe systems "so even God couldn’t read them," according to South Carolina Rep. Trey Gowdy on Fox News. His comments on the "drastic cyber-measure" were in response to the question of whether her emails were simply about "yoga and wedding plans."
I would give up on windows explorer, I have. I would look into the two applications everything and directory opus. They will both make windows easier to use. If anything I would get "everything" since it's free and will solve the problem with the search.
For those who want a replacement for CCleaner, use Bleachbit. Open source and does what CCleaner does.
EDIT: One bit of information. If your files are on a SSD, you do not need overwrite the files to truly delete them. TRIM will actually delete the data
I've been using CCleaner since the early 2000's when it was called Crap Cleaner. Haven't updated in a few years because, why would I? The version I had did what it should. I've always been happy with it.
Then this news came along. Sure my version still works, but I no longer trust them. This after more than a decade of being a loyal user. Funny how one bit of news can sever the relationship but that's just how I feel about it.
So I've moved onto BleachBit. It's open source with pretty regular commits and works on multiple platforms (Windows, Linux, Mac OS X).
Sorry, Piriform.
Bleachbit actually made their own microfibre cloth printed with HRC's face during the famous presser. I bought a handful of these during the campaign and added it to my memorabilia. See image below.
> Meuller’s indictments of 12 Russian intelligence agents prove that the Kremlin stole the election for Trump
Accusations as proof? This soviet-style propaganda would be funny if it weren't so sad...
Here, something to cheer us all up: https://www.bleachbit.org/cloth-or-something
Deluxe Paint was revolutionary.
So was Digi View and Digi Paint.
ImageFX (Hi Kermit!) was incredibly powerful.
Directory Opus exists for Windows and I use it every day. Respect to Jon and Greg.
The Video Toaster and Lightwave 3D changed the world. Mad respect to Allen (remember Videoscape) , Stuart (Modeler) , Brad Carvey and all the NewTek mad scientists.
Anybody ever use World Construction Set?
Oh, sure, that's true. Some are more partisan than others and may conveniently disregard untruths by their preferred candidate, or go more aggressively against the other one.
That still doesn't really help Trump though, given that the overwhelming majority of fact checkers all say that he made far more false statements than Clinton did, so either they're pretty much ALL heavily biased towards her, or... he just lies a lot more.
I checked up on the MSNBC acid wash one you suggested and, well, it's a technicality.
Did Clinton erase the emails? Yes.
Did she use a process called "Acid washing"? No, that is a meaningless and made up term. It's not a thing in I.T.
So technically they're correct, but they really should have elaborated to point that out more clearly. They did at least mention that she used BleachBit, which is a tool used to erase data off computers, but they really should have been more specific. Their mentioning that does at least show that they weren't entirely trying to cover up the fact that she deleted the emails.
Edits: Added a couple lines for clarification.
Another edit: Actually, while I'm on this "acid wash" one, Trump keeps talking about what an expensive process that was and how much it cost taxpayers. In fact, BleachBit is free software.
Everything about them.
She was supposed to turn over all work-related emails, but there was no need to turn over non-work-related ones.
So how does she go about doing this?
She literally prints tens of thousands of emails and sends them on paper (!), making it a whole fucking lot harder to go through them. They have to be manually scanned and categorised. This also made searching them more difficult, because you are searching hand-scanned PDF files instead of plain digital text.
Then she SAYS these are ALL the work-related ones.
Maybe someone wanted to check if that was the case? Maybe there was a danger there were sensitive work-related emails she hadn't turned over?
Nope, after printing off and sending the mountains of documents she claimed were all the relevant ones, she DELETED all her emails and used software to PREVENT DATA RECOVERY - "Bleachbit".
In retrospect it was discovered there were a bunch of emails that WERE work related but she deleted. They were recovered through other means.
She got classified information sent to a shitty home-setup server in her basement. It would have been a prime hacking target by pretty much everyone in the world - and they would have the IP address each time she emailed from it (the recipient sees the sending IP). That's like storing classified information in a shitty home-built shack, and sending the address of it to every foreign government.
She also tried to get around restrictions on sending classified information by stripping out the part that says CLASSIFIED so that people wouldn't react to it being sent by regular fax. You are not supposed to send classified information by regular fax.
This is just Hillary's emails. The DNC emails contain a whole lot more shit.
He has such a nice smile in that picture. A genuinely happy man.
When I saw this, I knew he had, without any further doubt, won. However, it was when Florida, and then Pennsylvania went red, I had a massive grin on my face and was like 'Holy shit, they actually did it!'
I use a tagging system with XYplorer
Give a few descriptive tags to every file as you go and you've got a working library that's faster/easier than folders - best software I've ever used.
Total Commander can do this - and soooo many other things (OOTB and through plugins) https://www.ghisler.com/index.htm
Can’t live without it on any Windows machine and still miss it on my macs.
See all features here: https://www.ghisler.com/featurel.htm
He still doesnt understand what bleachbit is. Frankly Clinton would have been stupid not to use some sort of delete tool to delete any files she had on her computer. As SOS she would have been intimately aware of how stuff that gets thrown in the trash on a computer can be recovered.
Funny how they were praising him just some months ago, isn't it?
Lets wipe the whole fucking lot of them with a Cloth or Something.
These dumbarses are going to be crying on November 9th when Trump wins.
I'd like to point out that while the quote there is speculative, the speculative aspect was regarding motivation. BleachBit probably believes they were used because South Carolina Rep. Trey Gowdy went on Fox News and used that name specifically, and three times in twenty seconds. Here it is, queue'd up.
He's a former prosecutor, he was the lead of the House's special select committee to investigate Benghazi, a few other qualifications. I get why you thought this whole thing was just a marketing ploy (because it totally is a marketing ploy, and more power to 'em) but they likely didn't just insert themselves into the discussion, and since the examiner did link BleachBit's post on the issue I imagine they at least watched the relevant half-minute of the Rep's interview.
I'm the author of a spiffy command-line thing called jdupes which will help you find and handle identical duplicate files. If you need more info or any help then feel free to ask. If you have lots of files and understand the ramifications of hard linking, that may be the best first step. Subsequently locating duplicates that are hard linked involves zero file data reading (use -H to enable hard link matching) and you'll save a lot of space.
Also...it runs on Linux, Mac, Windows, and pretty much any POSIX-compliant machine. I've submitted a package for Synology NAS devices which was approved but they haven't yet included it.
After 3 months of working as a complete beginner with Rust and GTK, I must say that this combination is quite pleasant to use.
I use Glade to set up graphical elements(just drag and drop) and then code them which really decrease amount of work with GUI.
So far I've only created one application with about 4000 lines of code using GTK https://github.com/qarmin/czkawka/tree/master/czkawka_gui/src.
As a programmer I find Directory Opus essential, since I can have two vertical side-by-side Explorers which also support tabs.
Also Everything is amazing, it can instantly find any file on the disk and can do wildcard searches. Where did I put that test XML I got yesterday? Is it in the Skype for Business "Received Files" folder or somewhere on OneDrive? I'll just search by *.xml and sort by Date Modified.
Dude I have excellent news for you, Total Commander e still in use si up to date, ghisler inca baga la el
>Total Commander 3.11 final for Android released!
>
>October 30, 2020: Total Commander 3.11 final for Android is now available. The Android version is freeware! It supports about the same functions as the Windows Mobile version. This version mainly fixes bugs.
dupeguru is my go-to. Can find duplicate files by binary comparison, "fuzzy" search for similar looking photos, etc etc. Can delete/move or replace duplicate files with symlinks or hardlinks. It's cross-platform as well.
It can't search for images that appear to be a screenshot, however. I'm not aware of any such functionality in a standalone program, actually (google photos is what immediately comes to mind) but would be curious to see if one actually exists.
From the BleachBit website-
With BleachBit you can free cache, delete cookies, clear Internet history, shred temporary files, delete logs, and discard junk you didn't know was there.... Beyond simply deleting files, BleachBit includes advanced features such as shredding files to prevent recovery, wiping free disk space to hide traces of files deleted by other applications, and vacuuming Firefox to make it faster." Link
I've seen jdupes mentioned here quite a few times and have been a lurker for a while. Let's talk about what stuff you'd like to see in my program or how it could be improved for your data set. Be sure to check issues for duplicate bugs/feature requests.
Just to be clear about one very common request: I'm not planning on adding any data-aware duplicate scanning like image or audio comparisons. I want to keep the scope of the program limited to exact file duplicate matching.
As someone who also manages a fairly large wallpaper collection (11.6k), I suggest you use VisiPics. It scans folders for duplicate images, so you can keep the duplicates out of your collection.
Thanks for these. I collect Huey photos and there were a whole bunch in here that I didn't have. I have the same problem with duplicates, there must be a bit of software that recognizes duplicate photos based on image content, irrespective of size, compression etc? I'll google for one.
Edit: Found visipics, looks hopeful
> It was only ever adequate
And then there was Total Commander (once called Windows Commander) which was a godsend for those of us who lived through Norton Commander but had switched to Windows...
> And you can use the portable version of CCleaner which doesn't install anything
Or even better, don't support them and their scummy practices in any way and use BleachBit instead
It's normal for a program to allocate space before it begins writing information. This is to prevent the end user from filling that space before the operation is complete. In the case of ESO this is particularly inconvenient because it is a very large game. If you do not have enough disk space and do not want to remove anything from your current disk then yes, you will have to buy a new drive. You can normally get 120GB SSDs for around $40-$60 on sale, I would suggest going that route as it's fairly cost effective and will help boost your load times.
Otherwise, looking into some space saving utilities to help clean up your current disk. WinDirStat will help you see where the greatest concentrations of data are on your machine, and help you clean up efficiently. BleachBit will help to clear out junk taking up space on your PC. I recommend this over CCleaner. ESO is worth the pain of getting it installed if you're a fan of MMOs and Elder Scrolls
Don't use Clover. It was good back in the day, but ownership of the software has changed and it's likely compromising to install now.
I've tried all of the file explorer alternatives out there extensively, and Directory Opus is the best IMO.
This was the route I took about 10 years ago, and I haven't looked back even once. There's a fairly steep learning curve, but it's helped by a large and experienced community. Tabs are about 0.05% what you gain over the standard Windows (10) File Explorer, but they are great. https://www.ghisler.com/
The bleachbit website is pure internet gold
https://www.bleachbit.org/cloth-or-something
My favorite article on their site:
https://www.bleachbit.org/news/how-delete-secret-emails-microsoft-exchange
Now that you have all your photos again one handy tool to download is Visipix. It is a visual photo duplicate detector. Because it is comparing the files visually it will detect images that are the same but different resolutions and other similar duplicate but not exact duplicate images.(although watch out for it trying to delete your touched up versions of photos). So if you have duplicate file names just keep them both and let Visipix take care of them after the fact.
Next I would check out PhotoMove. It will help you sort all those photos by year and month based on the date taken in the exif data(meta data left by the camera itself). This will cut your sorting down by a ton.
After you get everything sorted and deduplicated I would upload the whole thing to Google photos. They don't keep the original version but the high res versions are close enough and it makes a good back up. It also allows you to search them by location.
visipics is very good for finding duplicate images, it will also give you previews of the duplicate images and give you size info at the bottom. Simple as set filter > scan > wait > mark for deletion > delete/move
Edit: You can also get it to move the images to another folder if you want to keep them for some reason.
If there are images that look very similar but are different id suggest setting the filter to strict and going into options and disabling loosen filter automatically
It can also scan for 90° rotations if you have images that are the same but rotated.
This is a fantastic program. And it's free. http://www.visipics.info/
It not only can find identical pictures, but very similar pictures. For instance, different sized versions of the same picture. Or two pictures, one with a border or one with text, or one with a slightly different tint, or two pictures taken a second apart, etc.
I use Directory Opus as a replacement to Windows Explorer. It has a lot of nice features and allows you to write scripts to perform some of the repetitive tasks (I know you can script it in PS or batch). Also, my favorite part about the software is the ability to have multiple tabs that are in different directories and even having side-by-side tabs open.
To me, it's a great tool and I love it. I have the light version that I got on sale a long time ago so it might not be worth the cost to you but it certainly was for me.
I use Directly Opus on Windows 10 and it'll bring up your last folder view after a reboot. (Just tested.) It also has a mode that replaces windows explorer and allows you to double-click your desktop to bring up the last view you closed.
Hard to argue with that list list... except maybe switch out flameshot for ksnip, and obsidian for Joplin. Add in kooha for simple screen recording, maybe lollipop for music?
Of the smaller more "utility-like" apps... here's a segment from my post install file relating to Rust apps. It may or may not help:

The link to youtube is someone running fdupes. Took me a minute to figure that out. I want my minute back.

if they have exif data intact you can use exiftool to organize them and flag/move duplicates , otherwise you might need something that uses phash to identify duplicates
if you don’t want to use terminal tools, you can use something like dupeguru or there are a variety of other apps on the app store which also can do duplicates identification
I too work in IT. The bit that makes me twitch the worst is whenever he talks about Hillary's email. He consistently and repeatedly says that Hillary "acid washed" her emails. He repeated this as recently as this last week at a rally.
The whole situation with emails is complicated, but what actually happened is that Hillary's IT guy used a standard open source free secure deletion utility called BleachBit to delete her archive PST.
Fox hosts repeatedly mentioned "bleach"ing emails, so I assume Trump took this to mean she literally bleached her emails, and then changed the phrasing to "acid washed".
Bleach is a base, the literal opposite of an acid.
There's just so many levels on which he's wrong it's hard to unpack. Every time he talks about computers my head hurts.
I'm just sitting here wondering which actress starred in so many scenes...
In any case, a quick Google search gave me this, I haven't tried it so you tell me if it works; https://github.com/0x90d/videoduplicatefinder
I would check out Directory Opus. It does great file searching (I think it can search in PDF) and so much more. Probably the best file management app out there. Cheap too for what it does.
Are you sure you're router/modem didn't assign a new IP address to your fire TV? If I was you I'd check in the fire TV settings and see what the IP is. If that's not the problem Silk browser was released for gen3 want it? Just use it and download the apks. If you don't fancy that you could grab mixplorer for Android and start the ftp server built-in to it, and then grab Total Commander for fire TV, then use silk to grab the ftp plugin and install it, after that go into Total Commander and add a new server. Just don't forget to set password and login for ftp mixplorer server.
If using Linux or freebsd, take a look at fdupes. It compares files by size, then hashes files identical in size to see if they are the same.
If you compile it from source you can also have it make hard-links for all your duplicates. That won't sort out your organisation problems, but will save a tonne of space!
https://dupeguru.voltaicideas.net/
"dupeGuru is good with pictures. It has a special Picture mode that can scan pictures fuzzily, allowing you to find pictures that are similar, but not exactly the same."
It needs to be run from another host and I'd recommend to have a fast connection to the NAS.
I wouldn't recommend Ccleaner personally. Avast were caught installing malware into it a few years ago. When it was discovered they quickly withdrew it BUT they still take users system information via Active Monitoring. Ahh, but I turned that off! Maybe so, but as soon as you re-open the program it re-activates active monitoring regardless.
I used to install Ccleaner on every system I fixed until the 2017 malware incident. I recommend BleachBit for cleaning these days.
Sorry OP, but others have already suggested ShellExView which is what I'd use also
>Were the emails classified?
You mean retroactively, like Clintons? Probably not yet.
>Did she wipe the server with bleach bit?
Are you suggesting wiping files with an effective wiping program is not a good way to practice computer maintenance? Bleachbit is one of many such programs which does what it it designed.
>Did foreign adversaries have access to the emails?
Did they have access to Clinton's? Do you have documentation to prove that?
>Nobody cares if the emails weren't classified.
Except Clinton's use of private emails was not illegal at the time. It was actually common practice by people such as Colin Powell and Condolizza Rice. Ivanka's use of privatre emails is illegal.
Will you shout "Lock her up?"
Their How to Delete Secret Emails from Microsoft Exchange Server article is hillaryious: https://www.bleachbit.org/news/how-delete-secret-emails-microsoft-exchange
I would definitely buy Bleachbit if I had to wipe a server. But it's very expensive.
> Do a file hash (like MD5 or SHA) of all your photos. fdupes is your friend (on Linux).
jdupes is a better friend on any OS (inc Windows & Mac), and it's about 7 times faster as well :)
That's maybe a bit late as you're already uploading, but if you want to search for duplicate pictures to delete them, you can try visipics
And thanks for this album !
VisiPics is what I use, has a nice amount of configuration I think you might benefit from. Idk of a OSX app to do this, so unless you have access to a Windows PC I guess this is a useless post.
I recently used VisiPics for just such a project. Note that there are better tools for finding exact file matches, but this one does work more like TinEye, and you can set thresholds for similarity.
I use a open source program called czkawka. You can use the command line to find any duplicate files or use their GUI.

What are you asking here?
A file-manager that can do network-paths, with bookmarks of sorts?
Have a look at Total Commander ( https://www.ghisler.com/ )
Its been my go-to-tool for rapid file-management (and much more)
It support probably since 2.4.0 version, but looks that usage is quite unintuitive for some users - https://github.com/qarmin/czkawka/issues/373#issuecomment-903248098.
I've been using Total Commander ever since I've been using computers. Commander-like file explorers will always be your best choice. I personally couldn't use the default Explorer for anything other than mundane.
I've been putting off removing my duplicate movie files for years. Mostly because I have a relatively large library of ~13,000 movies and figured this would be a multi-week project. My main objective was to find duplicates and delete the smaller size copy. I stumbled upon this tool called dupeGuru (Windows, Linux, Mac) that allowed me to accomplish this with about an hours worth of work! In total I removed ~2,500 duplicates that were using 4.67TB of space. I'm beyond happy.
Hello there!
Recently people have been saying not to use CCleaner due to them being bought by Avast
While they did retract the update people were complaining about ( https://www.theinquirer.net/inquirer/news/3037138/avasts-piriform-withdraws-ccleaner-update ) honestly I would use an open source alternative like bleachbit: https://www.bleachbit.org/
Also look at BleachBit with the winapp2.ini option (in settings)
This app really allows you to purge and refresh your windows install free of temp files. Just be REALLY careful in checkmarking stuff, as it's possible to wipe your browser passwords if you checkmark the wrong option.
Also Autoruns gives a great overview of what services/startup etc are running on your PC, with the option of disabling them.
As far as DoD standards go, I don't know. My guess is they have their own tools. The DoD is big into physical destruction of drives that have contained sensitive material. They have drive shredders that are quite impressive to watch in action. They'll take a multi-platter 5.25 and chew it up into confetti sized bits.
As far as practical use, civilian and even high level corporate, BleachBit will render any data unrecoverable, depending on the level of write/rewrite you choose. It's not a quick thing, at least on large capacity platter media in my experience. It's good enough for peace of mind if you plan on re-purposing a drive. Maybe the NSA has some kind of Voodoo that can pull coherent data off a drive that has been written over 500x, but I doubt it.
What is this "bleach" you speak of? I've never heard of this so called "chemical". Oh. Bleachbit! Well according to Trump, that software is so complex and expensive, not even the experts understand it.
2:18 >that the FBI knew that the server had been wiped clean professionally by a service called BleachBit, which means you can not resurrect it after BleachBit has been applied to it.
It's not a professional service. It's a free and open-source program. I don't know exactly how it works, but it does indeed make it much harder to recover files.
http://www.visipics.info/index.php?title=Main_Page
I have used this before and it worked well. Not sure if it is still supported but it does a good job analyzing the photos for a percentage match and can auto process.
I used this http://www.duplicate-finder.com/photo.html
and this: http://www.visipics.info/index.php?title=Main_Page
to remove duplicates from my collection.
Edit: It would be awesome if you can take the good collection, zip it and then upload it somewhere (mega.nz?)
Try this https://github.com/qarmin/czkawka/releases
I honestly have NO IDEA if it'll work but it was posted recently on reddit here https://reddit.com/r/DataHoarder/comments/p09av3/czkawka_320_arrives_to_remove_your_duplicate/
Take a look at Directory Opus. It's way, way more than just a dual-pane file manager. If your hobbies or job involve a ton of file management, it has tools to make it way easier and more convenient. Not just for basic file operations like moving or sorting, but also for looking at and operating on file metadata and operating on archives. Custom file metadata like star ratings, tags, and color coding (like Mac OS). It has built-in scripting support too. Basically, it combines the features of a bunch of normally-separate file management tools into one unified file manager.
https://www.gpsoft.com.au/help/opus12/index.html#!Documents/File_Collections.htm
https://www.gpsoft.com.au/help/opus11/index.html#!Documents/Labels1.htm
Directory Opus might be the one you're looking for.
That sucks. Looks amazing on all three screens I've used it on. I will admit I've seen graphical artifacts on it, so it's not perfect.
There are always alternative file managers. I've tried a couple but I always go back to the default one. My father got me started on third party file managers. He paid for Directory Opus on the Amiga. I don't know what he paid. It costs $90 now, though!
Directory Opus - Utility/file manager/Explorer replacement.
Cost is 49 Australian Dollars, so eh around 30 US Dollars I think.
Using it since it first came out on Amiga computers all them years ago, just can't do without it.
Viser indhold af to kataloger samtidigt da man jo tit kopier/flytter filer (src/dst). Det har katalog-historik og bookmarks, god søgefunktion og alle mulige andre gode ting. Jeg har brugt det i mindst 10 år.
Det er gratis at prøve (shareware)
This is also an option in the file manager program Total Commander. I'm not affiliated with them in any way, I've just been using the program for over 20 years and never shy about suggesting it to people. If the main program can't do it, there's probably a plugin that will add the ability.
VisiPics is what I use and it finds duplicate with different resolutions. I love it.
Thanks, but strange for me: I downloaded the LINUX.tar.gz and have FFmpeg running, incl. FFprobe. The Requirements say "Open terminal in VDF folder and execute ./VDF.GUI" but in the .tar.gz there is no VDF.GUI.
Now what?
the good old SFTP-Plugin...
it can be interesting for you too: A new version of the plugin has been released: File system extensions (plugins)
New in 2.90: Keep old target file (which would be overwritten) when download fails at the start
Quick search says this finds duplicate photos: https://dupeguru.voltaicideas.net/
"It has a special Picture mode that can scan pictures fuzzily, allowing you to find pictures that are similar, but not exactly the same."
To weed out duplicate photos, I would recommend dupeGuru. If you trust the program enough, deleting all of the duplicates it finds requires only several clicks following the scan. Or you can compare each result visually yourself to make sure there aren't any miscategorizations. The program can additionally search photos based on visual similarity (not just binary comparison) so it's a huge help if you have resized photos scattered in the mix.
As for organizing/folder structure, you might be able to pull it off with just windows explorer:
I didn't know how familiar you were with regards to using windows 10/computers in general so I glossed over many aspects in my description above, but just let me know if you need clarification on anything!
There's a small program called Dupeguru, I've used it to find duplicate pics & music.
https://dupeguru.voltaicideas.net/
Attribute changer (also great) can change all the additional bits, but you have to do it 1 by 1.
Years ago, I used an app called DupeGuru to go through folders of digital images. It did a very good job of identifying not only pure duplicates, but the same image in a different format or resolution. That was the "Picture Edition"; they had other versions for different file types.
The app apparently is no longer supported by its original developer but has transitioned to an Andrew Senetar and the app home page is here . It doesn't look like the app has been updated in a couple of years, but on a current Mac it should run fine (might be 32-bit so what it does under 10.15 is unknown to me). The bonus is that now the app appears to be free, so you can try it yourself to see if it will do what you want it to do. I just downloaded the current version and will try it out myself shortly. No relation to the developers other than as a satisfied customer (I paid $$ for this back in the day). Good luck.
Try checking and fixing integrity of everything:
verify integrity of anything:
a) filesystem integrity: launch CMD with admin rights, run CHKDSK C: (and other disks like D: if any)
b) operating system intergrity: run CMD as admin run SFC /SCANNOW
c) Game integrity: repair game from launcher
delete temporary files and clean GPU shaders cache
a) delete temporary files with windows or download and run BleachBit portable https://www.bleachbit.org/download/windows
b) depending on your GPU (is that NVidia or Radeon) - google how to delete nvidia/radeon shaders cache - and actually follow the instructions
c) in documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live rename ShaderCache.cooked into ShaderCache.bak and let the game recreate it on next launch (might take up to 10..15 minutes and 1..3 failed logon attempts - do NOT close client inbetween or the new half-baked cache file also breaks, just retry logging in for 15 minutes)
if nothing helps try switching multi-threaded option (if it is ON switch to OFF or vice versa) selecting settings on the logon screen before logging in
From what I can tell, and this isn't 100%, I believe they get stored in the temp file location.
Press Windows Key + R and type %temp%. Back out of the folder and view it's properties to check how big it is. I didn't do much googling but no one was 100% on the location, but I've gathered that it gets stored in a temp location.
You should be able to use BleachBit to clean out your temp folders.
If there's only one partition then you can't do anything in disk management to get that space back. Try running windows built-in Disk Cleanup, or if you want something even more thorough use BleachBit https://www.bleachbit.org/
Open your PowerShell as a administrator which you can do by right clicking on the Windows Start button.
Run this command:
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
After that command has finished running:
sfc /scannow
If you'd like to free up some disk space use (it's open source too!): https://www.bleachbit.org/
Avoid CCleaner, it has become bloated.
After clearing up some disk space, depending on what type of drive you have, defragging your disk drive might slightly improve performance.
The best way is by uninstalling it, there are alternatives that are not border-line malware like ccleaner.
I would recommend bleachbit, its free, with full functionality, open source, and works well.
I also ignore the built in one. I recommend Bleachbit as it's very customizable and easily scripted from labtech.

Ah, well I would definitely increase your page file to the same size as your total RAM. If your paging file is on the same drive as your OS, then move it to a separate one. Even buying a little 32GB SSD to keep your paging file separate from your OS is ideal. Lastly, clean your machine regularly. https://www.bleachbit.org/
for those that don't know when Hillary was asked if she wiped her servers she responded "like with a cloth or something?".
Bleachbit (the software they used to wipe the server) pounced on Hillary's "with a cloth" statement. https://www.bleachbit.org/cloth-or-something
Joking? Maybe not joking?
Ok, I'm biting.
There was never any real chemical. Just confusion that spread like wildfire because it matched the anti-hilldog vibe.
I like their hammer better.

Parce qu'il efface plein de fichiers à la fois ? En plus je ne pense pas qu'il y ait énormément de gens qui fasse du terminal sous windows (ce qui n'est pas spécifié dans l'article, contrairement aux spécifications du logiciel).
ah gotcha did it right then!
the non-linked files, probably gonna need to peak at trace if not debug logs when they import and see what's up; are they even importing?
jdupes -L -r "/data/tv/" "/data/tv/.torrents/"
will check those two folders recursively and remove/hardlink back any files
I'm the author of jdupes. Windows (since Vista) supports actual hard links on NTFS, and jdupes has supported hard linking on Windows since July 2015. jdupes uses the native CreateHardLink()
call on Windows to hard link just like on Linux/macOS/BSD/POSIX-compliant whatever else. NTFS does have a 1024-link limit, though, which jdupes is designed to work around.
For duplicate files I use,
It will be time consuming to make sure you really get it right, but I highly recommend you check out jdupes and Digikam for getting things together in one place and analyzing your media files for duplicates irrespective of their filenames. Good luck.
If you're running a Debian- or Arch-derived distribution, you'll find my fdupes fork called jdupes to be significantly faster than classic fdupes. The vast majority of command options are identical and if you ever need any help with it, I'm always happy to help. Also, your post inspired a new planned feature in jdupes so thanks for that! It's a great idea.
