It's just best to have other sources on a claim this big.
I have no beef against SigaVPN or any other VPN provider. I would just love more than one source is all, I meant nothing rude by my previous comment.
Not much, but Bitcoin Cash? A bunch of stuff.
Check out (you can buy almost anything here lol) Also, an online mall based in Singapore just opened that accepts only BCH and its proprietary token, MGX. also offers private domain names for BCH. If you like darknet stuff, the Dream Market has shifted to accepting BCH. SigaVPN also accepts BCH. What else do you wanna do? Rent a place? CryptoCribs also accepts BCH. If you have other needs, just reply, I'll help you look for options.
I would not recommend anyone to use SigaVPN. Apart from purposely spreading misinformation about other VPN services, they have bombarbed this community with spam from alternative accounts. They are incredibly shady.

Don't use Tor for torrenting and don't use Tor and VPN at the same time.
I support Eleutheria and can verify that the people behind it are genuinely pro-privacy.
I have refrained from being involved with SigaVPN after the shutdown. Since I'm back at the moment, I'll be answering PMs and questions in this thread for a little bit.
$1.00 or more. I'm not trying to make money so it's a one time payment. You get both the USA server and the Canadian one.
Around a month ago, SigaVPN updated us after weeks of inactivity on his sigavpn_admin Reddit account, and said this regarding requests and subpoenas.
> No law enforcement requests have been served to SigaVPN. SigaVPN has NOT given into any pressure.
And even if SigaVPN was required to hand out logs to law enforcement, there are no logs anyway.
If it is a free, you're the product (collecting data for advertisers). Exceptions would be free trials of paid services, which usually also means they're restricted in speed and functionality. Especially avoid those "free VPN" browser extensions.
Only free ones I'm willing to recommend are ProtonVPN (free trial, same company is behind well trusted ProtonMail) and SigaVPN.
If im understanding this correctly, you would like to use your own mobile data connection to hotspot your computer to torrent. By all means you're off their wifi so your uni won't be able to find out (make sure you dont have anything auto connecting to the uni wifi because if you disconnect and it starts torrenting on the uni network you're in trouble - make your computer "forget" the network). But your mobile network provider probably won't be happy also if they participate in blocking piracy websites. Best option is for you to use a VPN. If you need a temporary free vpn try SigaVPN (no guarantees of privacy though/ be skeptical though its not bad).
Unfortunately, to reduce the bandwidth it was using, I had to make it only available to people who donate. I tried other solutions, but it still was pushing to much bandwidth.
I was very pleased with SigaVPN. I didnt even find it on reddit, It was from a long google search looking for a place to be able and grab some games without worry.
Once I heard the news I looked up a lot of VPNs. I officially settled with Surfshark. support torrents, no logging, have a Warrant canary and a free trial (which i didnt know until after i bought in) . 2 Years for 47$. Most VPNS this size and services are over double that for 2 years. They even let me pay in crypto.
I would never suggest a different service on another services sub but since its going and people are in need, maybe it will be a fit for some of you.
As for the Siga guys, its all love and thankful to have their support over the years.
A warrant canary is a statement saying a company has not received secret requests for user data by government or law enforcement agencies.
And to answer your question, /u/gliglug3
SigaVPN has not received any law enforcement requests.
As with every VPN provider, this is where trust comes in.
If a gag order comes in, I'll comply but run SigaVPN to the ground (make bad financial decisions, making it hard to donate, removing free servers, etc)
I'm going to side with u/SkidiKatKat on this one and ask if you know them personally because quite honestly it sounds like you're adamant about protecting their integrity despite just being a consumer.
What I know for certain is that SigaVPN shilling is prominent in r/Piracy and your talking points in this thread are very reminiscent of the same sort discussion spewed by accounts that shill out for SigaVPN.
If you want one for free, It's called SigaVPN, it runs off of donations.
There's no censorship, no logs, and it supports torrenting.
I've tried it out before, and it works perfectly.
I own the discord server, and I also had him accept dogecoin as a type of donation.
It sucks to see this service downsizing, I remember only just a year ago, I found out about SigaVPN and when SigaVPN started, I wanted to help out, and I've been apart of the moderation team for eight months now.
It was so amazing seeing how many people have joined, and how far this service has come, and for all the people who have decided to use this VPN service, compared to other VPN providers, that is what was special.
I will not be leaving the moderation team, unless this subreddit is fully shut-down, and it was an amazing service while it lasted, but it was inevitable that this service would shut down sometime soon.
Well, it's U.S based* best free VPN.
In fact, Proton and Siga are the only (trustworthy) free VPNs on the market. But remember, of course, you can never fully trust your VPN provider. They are Privacy by Policy and not Privacy by Design.
And talking about individual VPNs isn't allowed here :>
This post you made about accidentally deleting your entire website and never having backed it up makes me doubt your ability to run a VPN.
;sh=c22a0e65
Hey I know I'm a bit late to the party...
So far I really like SigaVPN, I've been using it for the last month. Today I noticed a reduction in speed, 110Mbps to 30Mbps. I had been running with some pretty bad wifi settings though so I didn't notice it until today. That being said, for a free VPN it works well and is easy to set up.
SigaVPN is a not-for-profit, free, no-log VPN.
We run off of donations and 2 non-obtrusive ads. Feel free to use as much bandwidth as you want. Privacy and freedom of speech shouldn't be a commercial industry.
Our Canada server is 1gbps. From the US, I can hit close to 40mbps torrenting on a 50mbps connection, and it uses AES-128, which isn't broken.
Due to the nature of free VPNs, I'm sure someone will post some bullshit about datamining. Please PM me if you want proof we aren't.
I've been a moderator for 10 months now on this subreddit, and have known about SigaVPN ever since it first started a year ago.
This was such an amazing journey, and seeing this grow was crazy.
It was impressive for how long it lasted, considering the stuff that has happened.
Did some more digging into that chart, and RiseupVPN looks like the closest thing to SigaVPN - free, open-source, funded by donations, allows torrenting. Also seems to have some clout. That's probably what I'll go with if it comes down to it, but speed is something else, and the hassle of installing, configuring and testing yet another VPN is not something I wanna go through any time soon.
Whoops! I got a UK server already, sorry! I'm just waiting for it to deliver.
I'm going to add it and clean up the website. TorrentFreak is adding SigaVPN in the yearly VPN list. Hopefully this will cause more donations, so I can get more servers. If the budget will allow, I do see a German server in the future.
The next server will either be in Canada, US, or Germany.
Hi,
I run SigaVPN as the sole owner.
Can you please link where I have spread misinformation? I would love to correct it, as contrary to what some people in /r/piracy believe, I don't participate it unethical or shady marketing tactics.
Additionally, if I wanted to make money or boost sales, why would I have shill accounts and charge so low? Many VPNs offer review sites a percentage of the purchase to rank them higher. In turn, the review sites spend money on Google Ads to be the first result listed.
It works for me. It may be part of the process he mentioned earlier.
EDIT: Dude's Latvia link is an infected site.
I suggest getting SigaVPN, I'm actually a moderator for the subreddit, and I'm not saying use the VPN just because I'm a mod there, it has four free servers, two paid servers for only $1, no monthly fee or anything, it also allows torrenting, and there's a no log policy.
If you think I'm lying about this, go on ThatOnePrivacySite and search up SigaVPN for the detailed VPN comparison chart.
I was using the miner on SigaVPN.
With my i5 laptop and it was performing at approx 20H/s, and I ran it for close to 20 mins. (Total Hash approx 33000+)
Approximately how long should the users mine for and at what hash rate? (so that you get a fair sum of money)
Pretty curious, thanks for the great service :)
We're a free VPN. I speak for SigaVPN, and not other free VPNs.
There are no logs stored by us. Our ISPs don't forward us copyright requests.
The only time we'd start logging is by court order or NSL. We absolutely would (temporarily) log to help a government catch a rapist, terrorist, or murderer.
I liked that SigaVPN was transparent by providing a ovpn file without the need for another client (yes, ovpn does need the openvpn client, but that same client can work with other ovpn profiles) the speeds were much superior with Siga but I guess that's it now :(
Riseupvpn is a good alternative, just that it requires an additional client, which does not provide the ovpn profile, which is not useful for configuring on routers with Asus-WRT/OpenWrt due to it being based on Bitmask.
I am still searching for viable alternatives.

I am wondering if we could start an SigaVPN reborn project, maybe, using the same hosts like BuyVM and using the configuration scripts available at github?
I haven't yet needed a regular VPN, although I would have recommended PIA before their price hike a couple of months ago.
I primarily use rapidgator premium for daily downloads backed up by real-debrid for multihosts and torrents, also on occasion usenet. That 99.5% covers my bases.
I have been looking for a non-free low monthly cap cheap (£1) a month VPN for very occasional geoblock bypassing but the best I've found so far is SigaVPN r\SigaVPN
An absolutely terrible list. Privacy Badger does very little. Ghostery is malware / spyware. 1Password is paid. VPN extensions are pointless (and are not a real VPN!) - just get a SigaVPN. No mention of uMatrix or decentraleyes, or even uBlock Origin.
So far, this is the only addon list I've found worth its salt: . Not afraid to call out shitty addons for one.
I've been testing this service for over 6 months now. It's been solid, leak checks have always been tight, and I haven't seen a single issue/warning/etc. And I have seen warnings on other services I've previously tested.
I'm not going to get into a pissing contest about who/what service, but your allegations against SigaVPN are baseless FUD. I've been testing SigaVPN almost daily, hedging my own bets and risks. I know how to deal with (clear my strikes) with my ISP, and I have yet to have to with SigaVPN.
So perhaps you need to nut-up or shut-up.
As of 11/3/2018, 11:06 AM CT, four monitors are down.
Dallas server is up.
Atlanta server is up.
Latvia server is up.
Mail server is up.
Moldova server is up.
Netherlands server is up.
SigaVPN IP Checker is up.
SigaVPN Server Stats is up.
USA server is up.
Canada currently has a 0.000%
Germany DNS currently has a 0.000%
The SigaVPN website currently has a 94.793% uptime
Sweden server currently has a 96.816% uptime
You've always shitted on our service without actually using it.
When I've shown proof that invalidates your claims of logging or selling users out you always just turn the other way or find a way to misinterpret it.
Is there any specific reason that you hold a grudge against SigaVPN?
Search for some guides on online. Like "Android Privacy Guide". Gitlab & Github sites have some nice guides. I can also say few things:
Do not use Antivirus, Cleaner / optimization and battery saver apps.
Ditch Google if possible and install Custom ROM. At least turn off all Google privacy settings.
Install apps from F-Droid. Use only open source & trustworthy apps.
Install Blokada (ad blocker)
Install Bromite as your browser. Use VPN for sensitive stuff (SigaVPN or Mullvad)
Do not use cracked apps unless you know some trustworthy sources.
Use Wire for calling & messaging.
> I've supported SigaVPN for about nine months, if I knew they were shady, I would stop posting here.
I'm not only talking about SigaVPN. The same applies for all VPN providers but specifically for VPN's that are based on countries that doesn't respect privacy.
> There have been times where Siga himself couldn't identify people who did stuff on his VPN
But those weren't data requests by law. And if government wants to catch someone they will ask that SigaVPN will start logging.
Well SigaVPN has no censorship, and provides no logs to anybody.
> No. Even if someone emailed me a threat behind the VPN, I couldn't do a thing about it.
> There is not enough information to link an action to an IP address.
That's a quote from him on a reddit post on here.
I'm a moderator here, and I've supported SigaVPN for about nine months, if I knew they were shady, I would stop posting here.
There have been times where Siga himself couldn't identify people who did stuff on his VPN.
> I noticed the IP and hostnames gave away the fact, the servers are being used as a VPN.
This was used to alert sysadmins who are getting abuse from our servers that it's a VPN server.
> Can SigaVPN have some discreet scheme while setting up the servers so that, it would not be easy to identify them as VPN servers?
I can change the hostnames to something less obvious.
If you downloaded extension from Chrome Store it shouldn't install any program on your computer. Remove extension from Chrome and app. Then run Windows Defender full scan and after that download Malwarebytes and run full scan. Remember tick "Scan for rootkits" option in Malwarebytes settings. And you shouldn't use VPN extensions and random VPN services. They can be malicious or they sell your data etc. Always download VPN provider own app or use OpenVPN client. Good paid VPN providers are Mullvad and PIA. If you don't want to pay (I recommend paid VPN services) you can use SigaVPN or ProtonVPN.
I used a different .ovpn config, but in hindsight that shouldn't have been necessary. First try starting the OpenVPN GUI, disconnecting and waiting until you're disconnected properly, and then connecting again.
If that doesn't work, then replace your old .ovpn file in OpenVPN/config with one from from here.
I guess we can't really donate anymore, though, given that he's taken the site down. Shame too, because I was going to donate once I could.
I guess I'll be using ProtonVPN from now on.
Siga had a good run, though, and I'm proud to have been following it since day one, when it was announced on the r/FREE subreddit.
u/sigavpn_admin has been an inspiration to me, and, if I ever can, I want to provide a service just as good, or better, than SigaVPN was.
It's been fun.
Yeah, I really thought it would have received more donations, according to ~~LibrePay~~ LiberaPay, it was getting $4.65 per week.
A proxy won't hide the fact that you're using P2P from your ISP therefore I suggest you look at SigaVPN. They have some set up guides.
If you're on Windows be sure to disable IPv6 in the OpenVPN virtual NIC which is created. Check your IP for leaks on before doing any torrenting.
Use the Bind feature in qBittorrent to lock the client to the VPN connection so the client will stop working if the VPN connection fails.
Not too sure. I tried Nord and they blocked all protocols on UK servers.
I was using SigaVPN, something that is lesser known and very cheap $2 donation, but it seems that project has been set aside and now that it's free the speed dropped from 50mbps to 3mbps.
The premium donated servers are still up for the month and are running at full speed of my ISP 80mbps.
I have tried expressvpn and that appears to be working with iptv on my provider at the moment.
It changes your IP address so you look like you're somewhere else. The key is to only use the VPN during torrenting and shut it off if you want to use Netflix. I use which is free (video install instructions in the menu). Just remember the 3 rules.
*1 Never have the torrent app start with Windows.
*2 Always have the VPN on before the app
*3 Always turn the app off before the VPN.
We switched from BT because the speeds where dog shit and the internet would cut out all the time. We've been with Sky for a couple of years now and it's so much better. I got fibre which cost like £7 more a month or so. Now I get about 80Mb/s download at most, it's usually around 60-70. And Upload is usually around 25Mb/s. And I think it's only ever cut out once since I've had it and it only cut out for about 10 minutes instead of BT where it would cut out every week for hours if not days.
I run through SigaVPN through the Netherlands server at the moment so speeds are a little lower. Download is about 56Mb/s and upload is around 15Mb/s. Response time is 25ms. SigaVPN as far as I care has been pretty good to be honest, it's easy to use and they have enough servers. No leaks other then IPV6 which I have disabled anyway.
I reformat the hard drive, install Win10 LTSC, after installation update drivers with IOBit Driver Booster, shut off Windows spyware with Destroy Windows Spying and O&O ShutUp010. For security SigaVPN, Malwarebytes Premium and BitDefender free AV, CCleaner Pro. Epic Privacy browser, Firefox with plug ins. Then my media player and codecs, photo, music, video and karaoke production apps.
Hi, I run SigaVPN.
The poster in the thread you linked is a user of the service. I don't advertise the service and I rely on the service being spread via word of mouth or recommendations.
That being said, tpligigo does not represent or work for SigaVPN. I run it by myself.
If you have ANY questions regarding the service, I will be glad to answer publically on this thread.
What personal information?
SigaVPN asks for no personal information. PayPal does.
You usually can donated via BTC, but at the moment life is very busy and I don't have the time to manually process them.
> Is this GDPR safe?
This is GDPR compliant.
> In your sample code, I see nothing about checking for DNT.

> and is there any way to have existing personal information removed if we did so before we turned on DNT?
No personal information is collected. There is no way to remove yourself from the analytics if you have already visited the website. This is because not enough information to link to a specific person.
Keep in mind that NGINX's access_log
collects far more data and is on by default on NGINX webservers. This is disabled for SigaVPN/PrivacyInfinity websites
He has answered this previously, and the answer was no:
He is unable to run it legally and doing so seems to jeopardize his other services including the VPN.
I’ve used them before, as well as SigaVPN, based off of That One Privacy Guy, but it’s based within the jurisdiction of the 5 Eyes, which is bad for privacy. Otherwise, they allow torrenting/peer to peer, which Proton doesn’t, and is fine on storage limits.
Hello,
Can you please show me the biases? I tried to keep this unbiased as possible.
Note that the part where I said to check the NordVPN link was because they have a query string in the URL when you come from a review site. This makes it easy for users to verify that a link is an affiliate link or not. Other affiliate links may use different methods, like looking at the [HTTP_REFERER]
variable.
NordVPN being popular, also means it is almost on every VPN review site. What I wrote was not to hurt NordVPN or even drive sales.
It was to help users make a more educated decision when looking for a VPN.
About it being a commercial blog, I set up an entire subdomain to the list, not on the SigaVPN domain. I would love to be able to share information on /r/privacytoolsio that would comply with your rules. Is this possible?
I just found out about SigaVPN a couple days ago and downloaded the Chicago server. I used it for 1 day and then this happened.
I can't connect, keep getting the following error:
Will wait to see what's next.
Good to see that this notice was posted, otherwise I would have been so confused as to what I did wrong.
Hi,
I'm looking for a free VPN. I've never used one before so I want to see what's going on in this realm. I was wondering if there is one at least where you are not the product.
I checked That One Guy's Privacy chart, and it seems like SigaVPN might be a decent option.
TL;DR: what's the best free VPN?
> So I'm using the free VPN at
That service is not a good idea for torrenting, the amount of logging is a bit extreme. Not to mention those servers are all run by different volunteers with different policies on p2p. Triggering DMCA notices to those VPN servers is not a great idea.
Maybe it is OK for light VPN usage outside of torrenting (see /r/VPN).
> What parameters should one look for to find VPN with highest download speed?
Not free. You should be looking into a paid torrent friendly VPN that does not store connection logs. Especially one that supports port forwarding, that is important if you intend to have higher torrent download speeds.
That said if you absolutely need free & don't mind the slower speeds then try
Be sure to setup the DNS protection and Kill Switch on the PIA's program settings. I used PIA for about a year and a half and never got a notice even on plenty of public trackers. At the moment I am using SigaVPN without issues.
_unlimited_free_vpn/
I also heard SigaVPN is great but I haven't tried it, you can go digging in reddit threads for free vpns!
I can’t afford a VPN so I don’t really use one. But really most people don’t need it. Here are some free tools I use and would recommend you use as well especially if you don’t have a VPN.
Encrypted DNS (DNS over HTTPS, DNS over TLS, or DNSCrypt)
HTTPS Everywhere (or equivalent)
Tor
I2P
Freenet
If for whatever you need a VPN, the only free VPNs I trust are ProtonVPN and Cryptofree. ProtonVPN doesn’t allow P2P but it’s pretty fast, whereas Cryptofree does allow P2P but it’s super slow. There was also SigaVPN but it has recently shut down.
You can use dockers to set up a socks5 proxy.
I will make a one-shot-setup later when I have time.
EDIT: here's my post about socks5.
There is a lot of choice with VPNs, PIA is a solid recommendation but it also depends on how much you have to spend. You can start off with something free like SigaVPN just to get going. They have useful set up videos too.
Windscribe do a free entry level too which allows 10GB a month of traffic. They will offer incentives to buy a Pro account after a couple of months.
You need to spend some time learning the apps and testing the security to make sure the VPN is actually protecting you by using sites such as
It's quite a commitment to make yourself safe but the alternative is far worse.
For the time being use SigaVPN, it's run by a guy on reddit /r/sigavpn. It used to be a paid service, but just turned free/donation. It won't be fast, so use it for downloading until you can figure out how to buy service yourself.
I agree!
I was skeptical initially about this service, but spending that 2 USD is one of the best things I've done.
Hopefully the whole SigaVPN team will still continue supporting them in the future! :)
Malwarebytes Premium would be the way to go along with any free AV (BitDefender, Avast) scanner as Defender is very lax in real time detections. I've tested them all over the last 15 years and this is the best I've found. I also use OpenVPN with SigaVPN as my configuration. Have been with them over a year since they started and zero issues or problems.
Mostly for security as I live in an apartment building with a hospitality wifi system that completely open. It has 128-AES bit encryption. I keep it on all day long. Also great for P2P.
A non profit, privacy minded company that provides free and paid servers all over the world and is ever growing and rock solid. r/sigavpn
r/vpncoupons
I use a free one (I donate to get better servers) called SigaVPN, seems pretty good, uses the open VPN to run it. Has a subreddit and thousands of people seem to use it with no complaints with security or them stealing info. I get no IPV6 or IPV4 leaks when I test it.
> why is a post labeled about Latvia even going to Mixtape
Because I went to .
All VPNs slow down your speed especially if you are wireless. You want VPNs that use gigabyte servers for the fastest speeds. Many don't provide that. The only one I can vouch for is which uses a combination of free (slower) servers and pay (fastest) premium gigabyte servers. I suggest you check them out and read through all their info in the menu in the upper right. Very reasonable. The most trusted torrent client I read is Qbitorrent. What ever VPN you use, always follow these 3 rules for safety.
*1 Never have the torrent client start with Windows.
*2 Always have the VPN on before the client
*3 Always turn the client off before the VPN.
_consider_to_add_l2tp_ipsec/eb55ilz
> I plan on opening a Shadowsocks or Wireguard server (already have a server up, just need to develop)and another server is not in the budget at the moment.

This actually makes me conspicuous:
>ProtonVPN AG has received a total of: > >User Data Access Requests > >0 requests to access user data >0 requests were granted >0 requests were denied >0 legally binding requests > > >User Data Retention Requests > >0 requests to retain user data >0 requests were granted >0 requests were denied >0 legally binding request
Because there is no way their services haven't been abused by criminals since protonvpn started and literally every vpn gets abuse and government notices/requests. Even a small one like SigaVPN iirc.
Every other major VPN provider, where some of them were proven to actually log.
No. It's still leaking my IP address;
Also /u/sigavpn_admin said himself that IPv6 isn't blocked or implemented;
> I don't plan on it, sorry
Also good VPN doesn't block / disable IPv6, instead they implements IPv6 support.
I didn't see this post for some reason, sorry!
> This thing keeps me wondering. If a user uses your VPN to download illegal contents, wouldnt the government and/or lawyers still come after you? I mean, it should look like, to your ISP, that you downloaded it.
> You might not be the one downloading it, but as to my understanding, you are still responsible, just like if I let someone use my WiFi to download illegal contents.
> So how do you do it?
When I get a server, I make it known it is a VPN server, either to the ISP or hostname. A VPN in the USA is treated similarly to an ISP.
Legally, what SigaVPN is a provider of transitory digital network communications per 17 U.S.C. § 512(a). This means that just because something passes through the server, doesn't mean I'm liable.
I get abuse reports often and usually people ask for logs. I explain there are no logs and no way to identify the user.
ProtonVPN - reputable compnay, no torrenting
SigaVPN - new vpn service provider, torrenting allowed
Both doesn't have native apps for iOS, you need to use it with OpenVPN Connect.
Bare in mind, there is no free VPNs which provide speed and features like paid does.
> Many of the encryption algorithms used by this popular Internet anonymizing protocol have likely been cracked by the NSA, says one security expert – and upgrading to the newest versions of Tor software won’t be enough to protect your privacy.
SigaVPN has no logs as of right now and probably will never give logs out anyway, same with PIA, they have no logs and they proved it in court.
> best free VPN
SigaVPN
> Is it worth spending the money on a one
Yes. Free VPNs usually logs your activities and sell your data. If you're not paying, you're the product. Mullvad is the best VPN.
I think in this case using Tor is overkill, any VPN will do the trick, plus they are easier to configure and you'll get faster speeds.
If it's something as simple as bypassing a website restriction you'll be fine using a free VPN, but I don't recommend them for everyday usage.
For more information visit /r/VPN and/or Google "free vpn". Some can be configured with your OS' network configuration page, some use OpenVPN, some require a proprietary program. I personally use SigaVPN (/r/SigaVPN, ) with OpenVPN whenever I'm on a public WiFi or I have to access a blocked website.
Don't use "free VPNs" because if it is free, assume you're the product.
And you probably can't use them anyway for torrents since they block p2p traffic.
If you're still too cheapskate try /r/SigaVPN. At least it allows p2p and no one has yet claimed it forwards copyright notices.
I don't know if this is the right place to ask but is SigaVPN a good service? I've heard that it breaks the stereotype of Free VPN's being shitty but does anyone have firsthand experience with it? Would anyone recommend it? I'm looking to torrent movies without my ISP constantly emailing me about it.
I didn't mean it as a VPN vs VPN type of discussion. I'm all for the advancement of privacy.
I have no problems with another VPN service fighting for the cause of privacy. On the behalf of SigaVPN, I have recommended other VPNs such as Mullvad or AirVPN. I just don't support a service using privacy as a money making industry.
You can even run your own commercial VPN using our backend. It's on github.
I'll try to restore functionality that the old website had to 100%.
I'll add it back, but please note that since I've added the mining page, only $1 total has been made from it.
To put it in perspective, 146.95 Million hashes is equal to $0.97.
What I really could use from users are honest reviews. You won't receive compensation from it though.
SigaVPN has a good presence for a free torrenting VPN on reddit. I'm guessing that 85% of my traffic comes from reddit. Outside of reddit, SigaVPN is pretty much unknown.
Spreading the word on forums, social media, etc can really give us a boost. Just be truthful and don't spam :-).
Psst... SigaVPN is going to be included in Torrentfreak's yearly review next year
Nobody has been hacked due to using SigaVPN. Your banking and emails use HTTPS, and even if we pulled something malicious, you would see a security warning.
Even if pulled some black magic fuckery to not show that, you can still check the certificate's fingerprint.
>SigaVPN
3 months late to the convo, but it's worth mentioning -section/ does rate SigaVPN pretty highly. Currently, it's the highest rated "free" VPN.
The servers seem to be working fine on my laptop. The server uptime status is at 100% today, so it may be an issue on your laptop. You could try replacing the config file with either a re-download or the other server's file.
I would recommend PMing /u/sigavpn , as the admin is very helpful in my experience. There may be a delay in response time, however, since SigaVPN is now being entirely maintained by only one person.
Very true indeed. This whole subreddit is becoming more and more an advertising section for that dubious SigaVPN.
Everyone who truly cares about his privacy should invest $5/month in a good no - logs VPN. If someone offer something for free, the customers usually is the product being sold.
I'm sorry, I thought you wanted to know what he meant by 5 eyes is no go. However, if SigaVPN receives a gag order from the US or another 5 eyes, they will comply and log data. That raises a privacy issue (albeit minor unless you are dealing drugs).
I have been using SigaVPN for a few weeks now and it has been great for torrenting. My ISP will cut my internet if I even fart at a torrent and I havent been bothered. I did use PIA before and it was also great. I just havent had the loot to sign up for at least a year of it like I would like.
I think it takes the DMCA lawyers a couple weeks to notify my ISP but it depends on the firm/company. I got popped by Nintendo for fetching Wii Sports the next day but it took HBO a month before they sent me a notice about The Wire. It just all depends really. This was all a few years ago. Havent gotten a single notice since using a VPN. I was using PIA and use SigaVPN right now and have been safe.
You seem to be very confused.
The OpenVPN VPN client is this:
There is also a VPN service called PrivateTunnel that was started by some of the OpenVPN developers:
SigaVPN has no relation to either the OpenVPN client project, or PrivateTunnel. SigaVPN are an entirely separate organization that run their own VPN service. It can be used with the OpenVPN client if that's what you meant? (of course just about any VPN service can be used with the OpenVPN client)
I have no idea why you're discussing SigaVPN in a post about Windscribe VPN.
Maybe they changed it to PTU, I remember there being a free version. Since SigaVPN is down, the alternatives are getting fewer that is for sure, but instead of buying I would recommened cylcing through the free trial versions.
Hopefully not quite! Unlike SigaVPN, FreePN is a peer-to-peer VPN service, so we really only have to pay to run the coordinating server, making overhead costs (aside from ongoing development) actually pretty minimal.

"The service will stop having paid servers soon."
and I am fully aware that it was a paid server, I paid to get the link long ago.
Qbittorrent is a great open source torrent client.
Torrent using a VPN to prevent any ISP notices. I recommend SigaVPN.
As for downloading files, you can download viruses so that's why you need to be careful. Most of the time, nothing will run unless you tell it to. If you get your torrents from a trusted site then you should have no issues.
Torrenting is quite safe, just be careful.
Great resource, never come across it before. According to that chart F-Secure Freedome seems to be very good, but I've never heard of it and I don't know much about it.
EDIT: Scratch all of the above. Looking at a good few of the VPNs on that chart that got green in all fields, most are either paid or don't allow torrenting. I'm really gonna miss SigaVPN if it goes down.
r/SigaVPN was a free anonymous VPN that was running off of anonymous donations, but it sadly closed a few weeks back due to the lack of funding.
Also, while not free, Mullvad is apparently pretty good and is cheaper than the competition iirc.
Most results were just "this is a common question. Do a search." If it's so common, there should be a wiki link in the sidebar or a stickied megathread addressing it.
The remaining comments suggested SigaVPN, Windscribe, and ProtonVPN. I couldn't find anything comparing them to each other. Is there one of them that I should go with or should I try them all and see which one I like best?
SigaVPN relies on the "openvpn client" which will work on windows 7/8/10. & to answer OP's question, sounds like you need to grant admin privileges when installing openvpn.
Or you may not have admin privileges due to using an account on a computer where you were not granted them.
Edit:
i dont need it for the VPN directly. Theres a vpn called SigaVpn. It is a free vpn run by a single person. It makes money through donations. You can check it out at r/SigaVPN its not that well-known. Anyways that uses OpenVPN, which requires the unsigned driver.
So there’s an application called Open VPN. There’s a link on the Siga website to download it. Once you download it, it’ll ask you for an address to connect to. The file that you’ll choose for this will be the file that you have downloaded from the Siga website, and it will tell the Open VPN program how to connect your computer to the SigaVPN server. I believe it should work on any windows but XP.
