TotalVPN apparently is based in the US and logs IP addresses. Aside from that, they seem to be a middle of the road VPN, nothing special but nothing awful.

That said, if you are using Tor for anything that's unlikely to get you in trouble then there is little need for a VPN, if you're doing something that can cause you problems then you really don't want a VPN based in the US (or any 'Five Eyes' country)

Depends on your connection really, in my case without a VPN i suffer from blocked VOIP, random dcs, lag spikes. I remember having to restart the router 3-4 times changing the public IP until i got one that partially worked.

To summarize if you need a VPN that is gaming friendly and will give you more speed than any other VPN (and doesn't get blocked like TunnelBear, Nord, TotalVPN etc...) then keep Torguard in mind. If your connection is already working fine with nothing blocked and 0 issues then don't bother with it.

I don't know anything about TotalVPN, but PIA has a built in killswitch, so if vpn connection is interrupted, internet access is shutoff until reconnection or manually overriding it. I use PIA with Linux and set up firewall rules, but I've messed with the PIA windows client, and it looks simple enough.

You can actually get around blackouts for free. I use TotalVPN's free version to get into the stream, and then turn it off as soon as the stream starts up. You only need a VPN for for a minute or two, there's no purpose in buying a subscription if that's all you use it for.

Not sure if this still works, When I wanted a vpn service I headed to TotalVPN, their price was something like $12/mon However I wanted to shop around for other services and everytime I came back to the totalVPN website to review that one i would notice the price would get a percentage taken off. I wanted to see how far that would go, so I waited and waited and it got all the way down to 90% off which came to like $1/month 24 month sign up for $24? too bad their service is blocked in netflix

If anyone can confirm that still works? Morale is though hesitation may pay off

I'm using TotalVPN this year. I choose this one because I saw some reviews on it being good for speed. So far, it's worked fine, but the true test will be when the real games are on and the traffic is higher.

But there are many options. I simply searched "good VPNs for streaming. Lots of the options have free trials, so you can use the trial to sign up and test out the streaming speeds. If you don't sing up for a year contract and go month by month, it's easy to cancel one and try another. Which is what I intend to do if TotalVPN ends up crapping out.

Each month is about the cost of a happy meal, so I wouldn't fret it too much.

I also had a problem like this and I solved it by using a VPN. So far its the only fix for the problem. I am using TotalVPN but there are many other VPN services out there, just experiment and find one that suits you best. Hope this advice works for you.

TotalVPN is apparently pretty good but I've never used it. What I like about PIA is that they don't keep logs of what you do (not sure if TotalVPN does) so even if someone wanted to take you to court (say a movie studio for pirating movies) PIA couldn't do anything because they have no knowledge of what you do.

There is: CyberGhost, TotalVPN and Hotspot Shield. Those are probably the three most popular VPN providers that offer a free version.

TotalVPN limits your speeds and only has 3 servers available for connection. However, you can stay connected for an unlimited amount of time.

CyberGhost limits your server availability, but has quite a large selection of servers. It does make you wait in a queue that is typically less than 5 minutes before you can connect and it does automatically disconnect you after 3 hours and makes you reconnect. It, however, does not limit your speeds.

Hotspot only allows US servers in their free versions, but I do not believe they restrict your speeds or connection time in any way.

PIA is very good due to the low cost if you pay for more at once. It also has the killswitch feature, which not all VPN services have.

I personally use TotalVPN simply because it is free and the only restrictions it has for the free account are speed caps, which isn't an issue for me, and a limited number of servers you can connect to, which isn't an issue for me as the one's that are available work fine for my needs.

TotalVPN might be the "best" free VPN or it used to be free anyway. But it's still not very good. You're better off purchasing a year long subscription to NordVPN or maybe Private Internet Access VPN. They really aren't very expensive for a year.

TotalVPN has a free option available. The only thing that is really limited is the maximum speeds of your connection and number of available servers, but otherwise, to my knowledge, all traffic types are allowed.

That's just a point of contact for those who want to send DMCA notices to TotalVPN. It doesn't necessarily mean that TotalVPN will do anything with the notice or forward it to you. Check if they keep logs of VPN use that can identify you. Many providers do not, and thus are plainly unable to enforce the DMCA notice.

Try using totalvpn or TunnelBear. TotalVPN is free but you will have a 2mb max speed while TunnelBear give you only 500mb/month for free also.

Currently using purevpn and I don't get the packet loss issue anymore since last night. Someone also posted about versavpn and finchvpn below.

Huh, I have been trying to fix this for days and then I fixed it minutes after posting this.

For people with the same issue, I had my VPN set to "speed" and to fix it I had to set it to "P2P" mode. This is using the premium version of TotalVPN. Hope this helps someone.

Are you planning on using a WiFi connection to post? Either way, you can use a VPN on your phone using any of the free VPN providers (Hotspot Shield, CyberGhost, TotalVPN, etc) to make it looks like you are somewhere else, so that in the event that they do track you via IP, it will look like you are in a complete different city.

It also only allows connections to 3 specific VPN servers. This is important b/c they only allow torrents on one of their servers per their support page, & that P2P/torrent server is not part of their free plan.

Whilst I love CB, it does seem to be so fucking unstable, even at the best of times.

We did try to get an answer out of CB as to why this was, and they made an excuse that connectivity is massively diminished if you're accessing from outside of the US. If you're outside of the US, CB recommend accessing via a VPN, although this only made things marginally better for us (we used a Californian server on TotalVPN).

So, idk. You'd think they'd sort out their problems more quickly given the amounts of money at stake.

Note that it is important to read your VPN provider's privacy and logs policy before using them for torrents. Such a small bit of research will go a long way. I myself was recommended TotalVPN via this list of torrent-supported VPN providers and it's working pretty great so far.
