I want this to be r/hackings unofficial motto.
TorVPN is cheap enough to be affordable for even the poorest student, is properly secure, and has an option to easily route your traffic through TOR nodes.
Normally, only the Tor browser is using the Tor network, so the other programs would not go through the Tor network. You can configure other programs to go through Tor, but it's not easy.
There's some information available about Torifying programs. You could even use the Tor network behind that VPN, though, if you wanted.
The list of VPNs they gave offered no surprises though, except perhaps Pure. Glad to know I'm still ok with Tor running over TorVPN.
I've had no problems with them. A slight DNS leak to begin with, but soon sorted by disabling IPV6 (which I would recommend doing anyway to prevent easy tracking, I do it at kernel level now).
Nice to see good ole Konqueror getting a shout out too!
Regarding iOS, Onion Browser by Mike Tigas is OK. He's preparing a new version that should be ready in the next months. You can participate in the beta programme if you contact him.
I also use VPN + TOR Browser Unlimited (TorVPN) by Eduardo Lostal. This app can even create a system-wide VPN with Tor servers. I cannot remember whether the app is for free or not...
If you're split between these two then def go with NordVPN. Here is a quick table of comparison:
TorVPN | NordVPN |
---|---|
Logs connection / bandwidth / IP address | No logs |
They don't run all of their DNS servers | They do |
4 connection limit, 7 servers/countries | 6 connections, 41 countries, 475 servers |
Based in UK | Panama |
Edit: made a table comparing the two instead of just outlining what is wrong with TorVPN.
Because its an .onion site. Onion is obviously not a normal domain since it can only be accessed through Tor, or other TorVPNs and such. .onion site owners and users are almost impossible to track, sites selling drugs are up for years.
Let me first say I'm extremely new to this but here's what I've come up with so far.... I use
Edit: I don't care about downvotes, but as I said I'm new, if you downvote, can you tell me what I'm doing wrong? I'd love to learn more.
The subreddit r/TorVPN does not exist.
Did you mean?:
Consider [creating a new subreddit r/TorVPN](/subreddits/create?name=TorVPN).

Not yet. I still wonder why Tor devs don't release any yet. But I heard that the Tor Project devs are working to release a TorVPN, where all the network connection passes through the Tor network. It will act like a VPN tunnel to connect to Tor network.
As of the there are some ways to route your whole traffic through Tor network. There has some 3rd party tools acts like a VPN (using Tor proxy) to route your whole connection to Tor. And you can manually use Tor Proxy to make your whole connection goes through Tor.
Tried TorVPN, that didn't work ('of course').
The irony is I had a legal subscription in another country, but I am traveling for a few weeks, and in another country. So this is not even fair from Disney, I am paying the monthly subscriptions.
There are currently 7 VPN apps that are impersonating Tor.
Tor VPN
TorVPN Lite
Tor VPN Free
Tor VPN Browser For Dark Web
TOR private internet access & Internet speed test
Tor Network Shield Vpn
TorGuard VPN
There are also:
"Torn Browser" - description : Torn Browser for Android is the only official mobile browser supported by the Tor Project, developers of the world’s strongest tool for privacy and freedom online.
Onion VPN Pro
That sounds about right, 4-6 weeks.
Do you mean you spoke to the Netflix support service or that of a VPN provider? The few different VPN support teams I spoke to seemed completely unaware of this and were essentially no help. I was particularly surprised by the lack of help and also slight attitude I got from one of the TorVPN support people, such a weird experience.
I’ve been using it on my iphone😂 know I shouldn’t but fuck it, I downloaded TorVPN from App Store and got onto “tor market” on the tor browser but then found out that you can get onto empire market on iOS safari, just turn on the vpn browser on the tor vpn app (sorry if that is messy I’ve had a few pints)
Hi. I can’t figure out how to login to any empire sites (I’m clearly very new to this). I installed TorVPN and I got a link to an empire site but every time I type in the encryption code it forces me to type it in again. Please help!
When you make a connection to their VPN or even using any third party onion routing app, they can see some data. So they know who you are, and where you're trying to go. Also who knows if they hold up their claims to not log data.
And TorVPN isn't official either. The Tor Project recommends onion browser.
I use airvpn. VPNs will always come with a reduction in torrent speed, but it's a necessary price to pay for not having your IP freely available to copyright trolls.
You should pick a provider that doesn't log traffic, ie. not TorVPN. Head here, and look at the LOGGING, SPEEDS and AVAILABILITY columns.
yes. U can either achieve it using few virtual machines one in another, or using Iptables, vpnchains, proxychains...
Probably the best solution would be to find 2 VPN providers that offer VPN+Tor like AirVPN, NordVPN, TorVPN, Privatoria and get .ovpn files from them and then use either VMs to chain VPNs or vpnchains program.
TorVPNs pretty good. Based in Hungary, there's a free tier but the basics start at about 60cent, and you can choose to route your traffic through TOR if you like. Currently a tiny bug with Kali and it's nameservers, but otherwise it's good to go.
be sure to use a /r/VPN first before running your Tor browser](/r/TOR/). even some VPN services allow you to see .onion sites without using a Tor browser, for example [TorVPN.

Any good VPN is going to cost money. Some have trials some don't I use Private Internet Access, it's $40/yr. ProXPN, VyprVPN and TorVPN (Not related to TOR/The Onion Router) are also popular VPNs but they all cost money.
Have you tried different DNS servers? Try having your friends change to Google DNS on their computer, then go into command prompt and do a "ipconfig /flushdns" and also rebooting is a good idea afterwards.
Google DNS ---- Primary DNS: 8.8.8.8 -- Secondary DNS: 8.8.4.4
As this is a free VPN service, it's likely that someone with not so good intensions used it to violate our terms of service. When their account was suspended, the IP they were using our site from was also suspended to prevent them from creating any further accounts.
You'll likely run into these types of issues using Zenmate, CyberGhostVPN, VPNBook, Hotspot Shield, proVPN, VPN Direct, Own VPN Shield, TorVPN, WiFi Protector, OkayFreedom, etc.
They can only be accessed through a hidden network called TOR (and indirectly through TorVPN's VPN proxy service). They do not have a real domain name or IP address that exists on the "regular" internet.
