Yes.!! You can do it in marshmallow, too. But, the point is an app should not ask unnecessary permissions. ( Or by adding unnecessary features to justify permissions) . Also It doesn't follow ' ask permissions when you open the app' guidelines. It is asking all permissions when you click 'Install' button even on android 6+ devices.
Also It's similar to A dark room & A Dark dragon AD , they don't ask so many permissions.
The main game a dark room , doesn't ask any permissions at all !

ADR on Android will go on sale tomorrow, October 1st (Google requires a 12 hour heads up for sales). So keep an eye out for it and get it then.
Also! A Dark Room will be coming to the Nintendo Switch (and will include extra content). Keep an eye out for it come December 2018.
Can't worry about them. Sticking to my ideals. Micro transactions, DRM/licensing restrictions, and ads have absolutely ruined the spirit of gaming. Hoping there are those out there that'll support me by legally purchasing it (no IAP or ads of course).

I'm 32 years old. Get off my lawn.
EDIT:
Here's the direct link to the game since there are quite a few knock offs out there.
~~Linkme:~~ A Dark Room
A bit different from what you're describing, but very compelling.
EDIT - not on the sub I thought I was, so that bot won't work. Here's the link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.yourcompany.adarkroom
It's a strange mobile game where you begin in a dark room, the only option is to light a fire.
You must keep the flames going.
She tells you of a world abroad, you feel the urge to explore.
(Basically it's an atmospheric survival/rpg/resource management game for iOS, it's very, very unique. Most of the game exists in text prompts written in the style above.)
A Dark Room is a classic of the genre. Very minimalist presentation, but the atmosphere and quality of the narration are still remarkable, among the best in the genre.

The way this game gradually opens up is absolutely breathtaking. This is an RPG and there is an open world, but the game takes its time to reveal its mechanics and secrets to you.
Bonus: No IAPs.
You might be interested in trying A Dark Room (it's currently free on Android):

It starts out as a clicker, but there's also an ascii adventurer and a bit of other stuff. Instead of trying to be addictive and endless like other clicker games, it's relatively short and action oriented. I haven't played many idle games, but some of the ideas seemed interesting to me. There's a story bonus for beating it more than once, but I've only done it once so I don't know if it's worth it
Are those the numbers of downloads? 508 downloads as game #5 on the category?
I have an android app that I don't want to disclose on this username but it gets almost ten times the downloads and it isn't high ranking on any categories, just a few related keywords. I wonder if play store users rely more on keywords for searches than categories. Personally I've never browsed categories.
Also on the monetization side, sounds like you are doing IAP purchases, are you also doing ads? I make more from ads than I do from IAP, about twice as much.
Edit: Is this your game? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.yourcompany.adarkroom If it is, you need new screenshots. That helped me with downloads a lot.
Also, it seems like your game costs 0.99 with no free version, so why are you having to process refunds by hand? the play store has a refund button after purchase for some amount of time.
Finally, is there no way to make a free version of your game with ads that you remove with an IAP? Like I said, at least for me, ads make more money than sales.
If you like text based games then I highly recommend A Dark Room. You can play the browser based version here, but the mobile version has an expanded story.
Maybe classic adventure type of games? Machinarium, The Silent Age and The Last Door etc.
Not really Telltale material:
- I can recommend this one: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.yourcompany.adarkroom
- Self promotion: try Sixth Extinction, if you don't mind some puzzles.
Two come to mind... Neither are idle until you get things going, however A Dark Room is the best I can think of. Kittens Game is a lot of fun.

Kittens Game https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nuclearunicorn.kittensgame
A Dark Room. Don't read anything about it, don't even look at the screenshots or description. It'll feel almost offensively primitive at first, until it suddenly doesn't anymore. An absolute masterpiece of a game that runs on anything with a screen.
Seedship. You are the AI of a ship filled with the last hope of humanity, frozen settlers, sent from a dying Earth. Your task is to find a new Earth and make sure your settlers survive the trip. Grand sci-fi with a remarkable amount of replay value.
By the way, what's your exact phone? Perhaps there's a custom ROM that can make it more usable. I used my first Android phone for almost five years by continuously updating it with custom ROMs.
Er... I don't think it has anything to do with headphones. From what I remember of when I last played it, the web version has barely any sound at all. Maybe the mobile app version (droid / ios) does something with headphones, though? IDK.
The main thing about A Dark Room that made a big impression on me was... hm, I feel like there must be a word for this, but if there is I don't know it... the game does a really good job of using its (pretty simple) mechanics to tell a story in a way I'd never experienced before.
Here is the link to the game on Android.
I'd been playing it in the browser on my phone and it mentioned an iOS version so I thought there wasn't an Android version. Glad to find it! There is another app called 'A Dark Night' that looks like it's ad supported. However I love it and feel like Amir deserves the patronage, so that's the one I linked.
Edit: Just noticed No ads, No microtransactions, Doesn't require WiFi.
>I even read the piece you (I suppose) wrote on how to be featured by Apple when it first came out
Yep, that was me :-D
>My only question to you as a game dev would be: how can you get visibility for Android Apps?
It's incredibly difficult to get visibility in either market. I'd definitely download top premium games and see how they handle social marketing. There is a game on iOS called Blackbox that does a really really good job at social marketing (see if you can get your hands on an iPhone and try the game out). Here is a free copy of a book I'm writing too, hopefully there will be good content in there for you to use (feel free to share this coupon with anyone you'd like).
>I don't really need the code, I tried your game and I arrived to the "paywall" but now I think I'll try to continue
Make sure you're getting the right one: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.yourcompany.adarkroom (I'm guessing you're talking about the purchase page, but just in case :-P)
An oldschool styled RPG. It takes gaming back to where it all began, stripping away with all the fancy graphics that modern games have come to rely on (often at the cost of mechanics and story). I might suggest these two which I am hugely addicted to and super impressed by:
Initium has been described as the text-based lovechild of Dark Souls and Diablo 2 that you can play on your phone or PC. The beauty in this one is the adrenaline fueled situations generated and interesting mechanics in this roguelike fantasy universe, which features a 100% player driven economy, player housing, and player-made zones. This feels like the good old 80s MUDs, and has caused me more adrenaline fueled moments than modern shooters. There is a real, lasting sense of camaraderie, friendship and overcoming insurmountable challenges (such as one-off world-wide dynamic boss events) with the other players in here too. Again, modern games tend to lose the personal aspect, whereas in here you can choose to be known to everyone and have a very active social life in-game, or be a sneaky assassin no-one has ever heard of.
A Dark Room has a few less graphics than Initium, and is an RPG where you can expect the unexpected. You wake up in a dark room, and start lighting a fire. Then a girl walks in, weary, tired and cold to warm herself by your fire. From there, things get complex. If you want to give it a shot, DO NOT look up anything about the game, as it has zero replay value and the beauty is in finding the game out for yourself. Think along the lines of Frog Fractions in terms of twists, but less whacky and with far more substance. This takes about 3 hours of your time to clock if you have some time-management skills.
Chrono Trigger, for something more classic and mainstream. This is a JRPG which frequently tops the best games of all time charts and is one of the games I've held close to my heart for a looong time. The story is engaging, the characters relatable, and the gameplay interesting and refreshing. This is the only videogame that ever made me cry, and I have probably clocked at least 5 replays of it to get to lots of the alternative endings. You know that feeling after you finish a REALLY good book, and you feel kinda empty and lost inside because it's over? This game does that. It is currently available on the Android app store for $9.99, which is an absolute steal! (Removed the Android port link based on user feedback that it's awful)
EDIT: If you only have time to check out one of those hyperlinks, A Dark Room is 100% my recommendation. You won't regret it.
EDIT 2: To save myself PMing them again, A Dark Room Android App - $0.99, A Dark Room IOS App - $0.99 , Initium Mobile App - free.
EDIT 3: Thanks for the gold! Added a bonus game.
All on mobile, three of them are artsy fartsy games (at least to some extent):
>Which games?
>Are you planning any more in the future?
As many as I can before I run out of money/the well dries up. In preproduction:

permissions. Looks shady. I don't think that gameplay need that much permissions. I don't remember the original game name. Looks like It's inspired from that game.
Edit : Found that game. It was a good game.A dark room
If you want to play it on PC : http://adarkroom.doublespeakgames.com
Sounds like A Dark Room to me, specifically A Dusty Path (a section of the game that's roguelikeish). The rest of the game is similar to those clicker games.
The outposts aren't stores though, just stashes. And the game has iOS and android ports, but it's originally from a website. Online version (not possible on mobile, you'll need arrow keys), Android, and iOS
Looks like it's $0.99 USD for both apps, free online though.
Text-based indie game. RPG, adventure
Per voi malati di giochini, il classico A dark room è gratis sul Play Store.
How about A Dark Room? It may not be super similar to your examples, but it's a great text based game. :)
I feel your pain. I was in A&E yesterday on a 4 hour wait.
Try A Dark Room. Also available on iOS.

Added one for A Dark Room (link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.yourcompany.adarkroom&hl=en ). I'll add more as I get time/think of them - cool site.
Really the only other game that creates similar emotions to Banished (and also has some more things in common with it) is A Dark Room, but it is of course a very different game. It's available for free as a browser game, has been officially (paid) and unofficially (free, but legally, since it's open source) been ported to mobile.
I'm not sure this really is an appropriate recommendation, but I'd recommend it anyway since in terms of themes and atmosphere, it shares so much with Banished, especially during it's first half (less so later on). Not really what you are looking for, but an interesting experience nonetheless that you should definitely play if you haven't already.
A Dark Room. Really Simple but highly addicting.

Ich kann da A Dark Room empfehlen, ist auch kostenlos.
A Dark Room is a very interesting text based game.
Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.yourcompany.adarkroom
Cool, I've played probably hundreds of incremental games, but I've included the three below that I enjoyed the most on Android, and that worked well. I excluded Egg Inc because it said you already played that. Keep in mind not all of these are free, but if I included them I feel they are worth the price:
A Dark Room: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.yourcompany.adarkroom
This is an incremental game with some old school text rpg mechanics, and an interesting story which I won't spoil here. I found it to be faster than most incremental games without having to resort to purely clicking. This game does have an "end" but has a variety of play styles and so therefore some replayability.
Clickpocalypse 2: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.minmaxia.c2
This is an incremental with a dungeons and dragons/final fantasy 1 aesthetic, and some interesting rpg mechanics. I found it fun and pretty easy to get into. I didn't play this more than a couple of weeks, so I don't know how the end game feels, but it has a solid early/mid game.
Kittens game: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nuclearunicorn.kittensgame
Oh baby, this is the big daddy. This is probably my favorite incremental game of all time. This game is incredibly robust without being needlessly complicated. Since I bought this last year I've probably probably played it almost a thousand hours. This game can be immediately be off putting, so there are some things you should know before buying. There is no art in the game at all, my room mate calls this my "spread sheet simulator". There are no tutorials of any kind, but there is a decently sized community that is very helpful here on Reddit.
Let me know if you have any question, I hope you find a game you like!
Dude, there are TONS of clickers out there.
You want a true time sink that has TONS of crap to unlock and time is the biggest resource in the game?
Look at Midas Gold Plus. You can download it on Steam for free. I have almost 2700 hours on it and I'm not even close to "end game".
If you want a very complicated and beautifully executed game, check out Swarm Sim. This has to be in my list of all time favorite idle games (up there with the progenitor, Cookie Clicker.
I was big into Crusaders of the Lost Idols for a while, but that morphed into a big money grab so I dumped it.
Not sure if you've tried Soda Dungeon, but it's a different kind of incremental game that mixes some RPG themes with battle that can be automated for the most part but needs set up beforehand. Bonus: The creator, afro-ninja, is active and actually listens. Good dude to deal with.
Kittens Game is crazy long and complicated. If you want in-depth, it's a good choice.
A Dark Room is another gem worth checking out. It's also available on Android and iOS, however, the mobile versions cost $. It was free not too long ago, but that sale has since expired.
Hopefully, you can find something worth playing in that list. I have tons of hours logged on all of those and they're the ones I considered worth mentioning.
I actually just made a post about idle games not too long ago. (Included below).
I'd suggest checking out Midas Gold Plus.
If you like being a bit more active, check out SwarmSim.

If you like the gameplay mechanic of collecting, building, crafting and sending explorers to forage for materials, there's two similar games (minus the depressing war story):
the Kittens game (web based)
Both are basically text only. Kittens is basically a distilled version of Civ in pure text form, while A Dark Room also implements the scavenger mechanic (send off a person with a limited storage and supplies, and go forage/fight and bring stuff back).
WARNING: both games are extremely addictive. I've had the Kittens game running in my browser since Dec 2015.
You rock. Seriously means a lot. Here is the link to the game (quite a few knock offs out there unfortunately): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.yourcompany.adarkroom
