Just "finished" Agent A: A Puzzle in Disguise and loved it. Perfect game for winding down at bedtime. I've played other escape-type games but they never really held my attention. Does anyone know any others in this genre that are as good?

Honestly, to keep users from missing 24-hour sales I would suggest they watch /r/googleplaydeals. Users otherwise will miss some great deals. :(

You mean, Machinarium? Yes, that one is more like a point-and-click adventure and less like a puzzle.
The Room games are amazing. If you want something also full of puzzles, try the Rusty Lake series. It's somewhat odd and bizarre (probably not recommended to very young kids, but on a second thought The Room can be a bit scary too), but very imaginative and with good puzzles.
The games from Snapbreak (Faraway series and The Doors series) also have many nice puzzles, but include ads and IAPs (to purchase the remainder of their games). And unfortunately IAPs are not shared across the family library.
Noodlecake Studios also have a few nice games with puzzle elements. Lumino City is more like a point-and-click with light puzzles. Framed and Framed 2 have an interesting concept of rearranging the frames in a comic strip, affecting the story until you find the correct order. Vignettes is unique and pretty, exploration of looking at objects at certain angles.
And, finally, Agent A is a very nice point-and-click with plenty of puzzles. A highly recommended game (4.9 stars out of 62K reviews).
