Yeah, ASMR videos can be a double edged sword, whispering makes my blood boil. Recently I stumbled upon a ASMR video featuring a Vacuum cleaner (The title said "very relaxing sounds") oh boy, I almost wanted to punch the uploader.
Anyways, you could use certain apps like atmosphere on your (andriod) phone while wearing earbuds. There must be similar apps for IOS devices but I don't know anything about that.
App Name: Atmosphere: Relaxing Sounds
Description:tmosphere is the perfect app to relax. Enjoy a variety of relaxing sounds divided into different environments. Just choose the sounds that you like and create your favorite combination, sleep, meditation, yoga, relieve stress, beat the anxiety and insomnia or just enjoy the sounds of nature. With the help of binaural beats and isochronic tones you can stimulate your mind, reduce stress and stimulate creativity.
Atmosphere App has environments for everyone: - Beach - Forest - City - Home - Underwater - Park - Countryside - Oriental
Type (Paid/Free): Free
Android / iOS: Android
Genre: Health & Fitness
I use this app when the power goes off, so I can assume that I'm in a forest or a beach, when in fact, I'm lying on my bed sweating profusely.
Atmospere. I don't know if it's niche, but you can mix relaxing sounds together and it's completely free. It has timer to turn off automatically and the sounds are high quality.
If this is the white noise thread, I'd recommend "Atmosphere: Relaxing Sounds" app.
It's got tons of sounds you can layer and adjust volumes of. Every night I use a layered combo of loud rain, medium ocean waves, and quiet thunder playing next to my bed.
I know they have relaxing outdoor sounds, including crickets, windy trees, frogs, and streams. It's really cool. I'd definitely give it a try with some over ear headphones.

I'd recommend train sounds since they have a interesting rhythm and there's no music. With regard to Music, it is haram as pointed out by the other brothers. you can try this app tho:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.peakpocketstudios.atmosphere
it has nature sounds like train, rain, birds etc
> I usually use Spotify for some relaxing music like rainforest, waterfalls, or some nature sounds.
I use an app called Atmosphere .
This app will let you, * mix different sounds to make an ambient atmospheric sound * add your recorded sounds * add white, brown, pink noise * set a timer to stop * add binaural & isochronic sounds to what you're playing.
I like the app Atmosphere. It lets you mix and match various sounds with individual intensity levels and they have them categorized by location like city, beach, forest. Some of the non-bird animal sounds are not overly great but you can just not use those. You can also save presets so you can go back to ones you like. Great for reading in a noisy house when you are easily distracted by hearing words. As a downside, though, it is oddly taxing on the battery.
I do actually like having storm sounds in my sleep mix but I have the volume fairly low so it's more like there is some thunder off in the distance and not right overhead.
Atmosphere is a great Android app that lets you make custom white noise. There's a bunch of sound options and you can mix and level them however you want
I use a decent app called Atmosphere, it's full of nice sounds to fall asleep to. This is it on the play store, I dunno if it's available on iPhone. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.peakpocketstudios.atmosphere
I've been using Atmosphere for a while and I recommend it. It has a large selection of high quality sounds, and you can mix them together into custom presets to get just the sound you're looking for. I've never noticed any looping, maybe the tracks are optimized or the end fades back into the beginning. I dunno but it's never been a problem. The UI is fairly dark also.
There's a fantastic white noise app available for Android smartphones (possibly iOS too but I use Android) called Atmosphere. Heartily recommend it - I frequently used it in work to block out the noise of my colleagues so I could focus on my work more easily.
You can build your own white noise sounds with it, layering one effect over the other, until you get to something you like.
Thank you! We need more relaxing posts like this. I found a sound app today that helped me more than I expected. I put it on waves and campfire and thought about Algonquin.

I'll recommend Atmosphere, a cool little sleep sounds app with lots of sounds you can mix into each other. I like it cause you can mix a bunch of stuff and save them together for an endless loop. Like, you can do an ocean, rain, and a PIG. Wtf is a pig doing in the ocean? I dunno but your house guests will be wondering the same thing.
My only real complaint is that it does not have Chromecast support. Hopefully it can support it in the future as I don't want to cast my entire phone audio when I want a looping sleep sound.
At the time I'm making this request, every other top level post is a request for an app and not a recommendation. It would be nice if y'all could recommend something along with your recommendations.
are they shouting into their phone while standing right outside your bedroom door? you might try using a white noise generator -- I find it much easier to sleep with white/brown noise in the background because it helps drown out any random background noises that would otherwise wake me up. Personally I use Atmosphere on my phone with it plugged in to some speakers in my room.
[Atmosphere]() on Android Is a app that lets you create a customized soundscape for reading or meditation or sleep. They have around 6 different environments like beach, woods, city, under water, ext. It's freaking sweet. And it's free.
I used to study and fall asleep to drum n bass believe it or not but now I use an app called Atmosphere - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.peakpocketstudios.atmosphere
Also give mediation a go - try the Insight Timer app or http://www.themeditationhouse.com.au/shop/moon-connection-meditation
> some sort of trance where I can bang out that essay
Such a state is called the zone, the flow, or hyperfocus depending on its intensity and the circumstances. The flow and the zone have positive connotations, and hyperfocus is usually negative but not always.
There is no guaranteed method to get into the state, and sometimes it's pretty much impossible. For example, I will never get in the zone while filling out an annual tax report. I just don't see that happening, ever. On the other hand, I get it pretty frequently while studying for subjects related to my major (which is one of the reasons why I picked it as my major).
Try to figure out what triggers the intense focus. How does it feel when you are about to get into those productivity flow while writing a paper or essay? What causes those feelings? Can you recreate the same feelings when you do your homework?
Another thing that can be useful is to listen to white noise or subtle sounds while writing essays and papers. Any continuous sound subtle enough to not interfere your focus will work. Then, once you have associated the sound with the productivity flow, try listening to the same sound while doing other homework. Apps like Atmosphere may be helpful. You can try the same technique with smell, too.
Have you tried Atmosphere
Most white noise generators have a fan option.

The Atmosphere app is a pretty good customizable ambient noise tool. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.peakpocketstudios.atmosphere
same here, you should try out this rainy mood but better for android!
Atmosphere is fairly similar to Noisli, but free, plenty of sounds, and great UI.
