I’m not sure, but you can get wearable sleeping bags which will definitely be warmer...
This is the best way - I do this constantly on the tube.
When I'm with friends, they're like why are we walking along this empty platform we're getting on at, there's no one here!
I'm planning for our exit when we get off so we'll be the first to the stairs instead of the 200 other people!
For anyone in London / on Android, this app is great for figuring out what carriage you need to be in
Its also due to the fact that MLB stars from say Venezuela are more willing to participate in the tournament. Their country has more to gain in winning.
USA superstars don't participate. You think any of these Americans would sign up for the WBC? Now imagine Team USA with 5 of these starters.
TunnelBear isn't the best, as it blocks P2P - I recommend PIA (PrivateInternetAccess) if you have the cash, or Windscribe if you can still manage to get a lifetime license for it (which is what I use).
Wow that was really strange. I got recommended TunnelBear yesterday for an unrelated reason and installed it this morning. And here it is being repped. Yeah the interface is awesome and it's really straightforward.
PIA (Private Internet Access) is good. There are many that are equally good. Just google for VPN reviews maybe. One you have downloaded their software and installed it, it's really very simple. One, maybe two clicks and your computer/device is connected to VPN.
Link to app This is the app, it uses sonar to detect your body movements to tell what type of sleep phase you're in and assesses your quality and duration from it! I am a student so making sure I get enough sleep is important to ensure my quality of work is maintained!
You are not using enough water. Get it really, really wet. Then wait hours for it to soak in. Keep wetting it occasionally. Then it will come off easily.
Also, use something like this first, to make sure the water can penetrate.
Never use steam, because it damages the plaster.
What the fuck is happening to this country? Is everyone a special snowflake now?
'The Great Unwashed' just means the general public. Are we getting offended by nearly two hundred year old phrases now?
You need to read Notes From a Small Island by Bill Bryson [1]. It's his impressions of the UK when he first arrived from the states. His observation of how we talk about the roads is spot on:

“If you mention in the pub that you intend to drive from, say, Surrey to Cornwall, a distance that most Americans would happily go to get a taco, your companions will puff their cheeks, look knowingly at each other, and blow out air as if to say, ‘Well, now that’s a bit of a tall order,’” writes Bryson. “‘There’s the Great West steam rally at Little Dribbling this weekend,’ somebody from across the room will add, strolling over to join you because it’s always pleasant to bring bad motoring news. ‘There’ll be 375,000 cars all converging on the Little Chef roundabout at Upton Dupton. We once spent 11 days in a tailback there, and that was just to get out of the car park. No, you want to have left when you were still in your mother’s womb, or preferably while you were spermatozoa, and even then you won’t find a parking space beyond Bodmin.’”

> I bet he has an automatic weigh process on the shelf holding them, ensuring if said shelf weighs 3.125g less, decrease count by 1, if time is < 8am and shelf weighs same, call emergency services, unlock doors , set porch light to flash red..
Amazon actually sell a scale you put on your shelf that can auto reorder stuff like this in the US. Dash Smart Shelf.
Pretty straightforward:
I wouldn't advise using IE for it because that will be system-wide and would also affect Chrome.
Also, be aware that the traffic between your PC and the proxy won't be encrypted so you may wish to set up a VPN server instead (OpenVPN).
To install the proxy on Ubuntu:
Don't allow any traffic through the firewall until you have set up authentication because random people will find it and use it to do nasty things.
EDIT: I recommend installing the addon FoxyProxy (not the basic one) and add your proxy details in there. Then you can right-click the icon next to your address bar and select "Use proxy <your proxy> for all URLs". This method works for Youtube, Hulu and pretty much all US streaming too by the way. When you're done, just right click and "completely disable FoxyProxy" so you aren't using server bandwidth and appearing to be American.
EDIT 2: This is completely doable on a 512MB cloud server BTW, which is £3.20 per month on Digital Ocean and includes 1TB of data transfer. I doubt anyone watches that much Netflix/Youtube:
Feel free to PM me or reply to this post if you need any technical help, especially with Linux, because that's my day job.
I found a link for the exact coat (though I bought it from the U.K. Hell Bunny site last year), and it says “pocket details” in the description. So we don’t need to google lady flaps!
Hola is the most popular globally but I'd recommend Zenmate every time. I get far better speeds and stability from the UK.
Do you know about Freecycle? In about a dozen exchanges over the past three years or so, giving and receiving, 100% have been pleasant/worthwhile; perhaps because it is a smaller catchment group?... FFS I even got a couple of Christmas cards last year.
Facebook is a shitshow
I found it online, it actually says in the description “pocket details” Well I still love it anyway!
PSA: Amazon has the Cornetto Trilogy on DVD for £7. In case anyone else had a sudden urge to rewatch them all. Bargain.
Tina is trying (unsuccessfully) to make a comeback as a solo artist.
Rachel has already had a successful solo career, her last album was Tasty Tunes to encourage toddlers to eat more healthy food. Her official website is down but she's allegedly working on a new album. There was a short preview of the track Suckerpunch put up on Soundcloud. Sounds like something I'd like.
Hannah is back to acting, she's had some onscreen and stage success.
Jon has done some acting work, but nothing major.
Edit: Twitter handles of the lot of them: @MsRachelStevens @joomeara @realtinab1 @H_Spearritt @JonLee321 @London_CitiBoy @Paulcattermole1
They tried the same thing back in 2012: https://adblockplus.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9403
Adblock figured it out then. Not sure if it's going to be the same thing, but I imagine it won't take long for a workaround to present itself.
I meant to say Smart Plug. Sorry. I bought one very similar to this
It's brilliant. After we're done with the Christmas tree, I'm debating using it for my hair straighteners, so when I have the "have I turned the straighteners off" moments I can just check Google Home
That assumption turned out to be completely invalid, though, at least in the case of the Prius. Real-world data shows that it takes 12 years for Prius battery failure rates to reach 5%. As well, the Prius has been specifically cited by Consumer Reports and JD Power repeatedly to be one of the most reliable cars on the road.
These are the liners my sister and I like. Just be sure to flatten them out to dry. It keeps them from bunching weirdly.
> This ~~license requirement~~ ridiculously overpriced anal destruction for iPlayer has changed all that though.
Even with Netflix's increased price it's £90 a year and I get original programming which, overall, offers far better value for money than the amount I watch on BBC... In addition, I pay £79 a year for Amazon Prime which includes access to a bunch of free books for my wife's Kindle, the speedy delivery I originally signed up for and fantastic original content from Amazon (that I can actually download and has an incredible mobile client for my commute on my phone with IMDB X-Ray). The thing I dislike about the Amazon offering is lack of Chromecast support (though with Chrome you can cast it as a fullscreen tab). Tempting as it may be to get the Fire TV stuff I can't justify it now I have the Chromecast...
So, in context:
I had a big purge of Facebook "friends" yonks ago due to this ... then came to my senses and stopped logging onto it at all.
And bloody hell and Android phone is quicker with all the facebook nonsense removed/disabled. Just install Metal if you still need access.
Right across the USA in 2017. Or Antarctica in.. 2021? if you have a spare £10,000 apparently :o personally i'd go for SE Asia next year http://www.timeanddate.com/eclipse/solar/2016-march-9 where it's cheap and also warm...
yeah scottish islands looked almost as much of a bummer (cloud wise) as SE England.
You'll be pleased to know it covers Birmingham too, as well as Manchester. So download it now and give it a whirl :)
Oh, and you can use it on a desktop web browser
It's the wrong tune entirely for a start...
English alphabet song (no idea what the tune is based on)
Yank alphabet song (twinkle twinkle)
I was taught the former but teachers have been trying to make the latter version work with 'zed' for decades now. They should just give up already, it's not going to happen.
Hey - not sure what operating system you have but there's a great app I use on Android called Darker - allows you to go darker than the phone's lowest brightness (which I personally find can still be too bright sometimes). Great for cinemas actually, but also very good for pitch black at night. It can lower the capacitive button brightness too. Obviously no use to you if you're on an iPhone.

I got a dash cam from Amazon for £60 that was recommended here on Reddit. Saved my bacon 3 weeks ago, somebody just straight up turned out from a side street into me on the main road and then said she thought it was my fault. I said no way, I have a dash cam to prove it - thankfully she's paid up and didn't want to go through insurance but it could have been very different if I didn't have the dash cam!
It's one that can hide behind your rearview mirror so it doesn't distract you whilst driving - I actually leave it plugged in 24/7 because I'm too lazy in the morning to sort it out. It's great.

As a rule you should avoid free VPN’s like the plague.
Also, Blockada is a DNS based adblocker, and isn’t a VPN at all. Unless android has changed significantly since I used it last, you also need root to be able to use it because it changes your hosts file.
Good paid VPN’s include Mullvad, Nord, PIA is supposed to be good, but I haven’t personally used it.
There's a "From the Archive" section that has some classics in it like, Thin blue line, One foot in the grave, black adder, fresh Prince ( one of my favourites growing up after school). They change round every so often so worth going back and checking once in a while.
I think it's ladette
It's even in the Oxford English Dictionary, which is rather depressing.
edit: Dick-shlong-ary....classic banter!
Ok, so buying everyone in the country one of these of Amazon costs £7.7 million ish.
less 10 quid if the queen gets an amazon credit card when she makes the order.
Seems a bit more sensible than the £50 billion cheque we are going to have to write.
Check out Mullvad I'm currently with IVPN. But, will be swapping over to Mullvad when my subscription runs out later this year.
There's a site someone's created that let's you compare how trustworthy a vpn is and last look that was Mullvad. If I can find the site I'll link it here.
Edit: credit to /r/Captain_Arrrg for finding it.
I just get mine from amazon, £2.50 for 160 papers and 150 roach cards.

The second part of that particular breakfast is immediate purging.
PSA - I've heard <em>bad bad</em> things about the effects of eating too many Pringles "Light" or whatever the 1% less unhealthy version is.
Why's that a problem? Grab yourself a capture card while you're there as well and you can turn your VHS into DVD/Digital.
To be honest you could probably just get a free VHS player on FreeCycle from someone who probably has one lying around.
Interesting fact that I read here.
Studies show that improving handwashing at 10 of the world’s leading airports could slow the spread of infectious diseases.
On average, only 20 percent of people in airports have clean hands - hands washed with soap and water, not just rinsed. The other 80 percent are potentially contaminating everything they touch, from chair armrests, check-in kiosks, security checkpoint trays, and restroom doorknobs and faucets.
For fun I looked up data on that website. Apparently we're supposed to say 'dahta' while the American pronunciation is 'dayta', but I always thought it was the other way round.. maybe the website is wrong sometimes.
Keep it to a minimum. The guy was a moany twat and boring as hell too. I just tried to make it clear that I was not interested really in being his mate.
Oh yeah and also. https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/autobiography
It depends on the make/model of your phone and what it considers "fast" charging and what specific cable you are using, whether it's USB-A<>USB-C or USB-C<>USB-C, (and the charger of course, it doesn't matter what cable you use if you are using a shitty no-name USB wall-wart that will only deliver 1W)
These are the ones I always buy for "normal" USB-A, and they specifically state that the won't fast charge certain devices (Nexus 5X for instance), but for USB-C<>USB-C I get these which will fast-charge phones and laptops (assuming the charger can put out enough juice).
This is because USB-A <> USB-C is limited to 15W, while a USB-C to USB-C can deliver up to 60W.
There's a whole bunch of different ones, Yellow Dog do the 'offical' "please keep your distance" ones, but there's a chap at my local park with a blue 'Blind dog' one on his Springer, and Amazon have a selection with different messages.
Personally I think they're a great idea.
I just can't believe I'm reading this thread in 2018.

Try SwiftKey It's a great keyboard, and has the £ symbol as a long press on X.
> No one is saying carry around a bin bag and find a horse shit bin
I for one would support this. Because the imagery is hilarious to me.
Would the horse shit bin be high up like the horse crossing buttons?
Nah, other way round I reckon. Our descendants will be asking us why we wasted oil on fuel when there were less destructive alternatives that did not use finite hydrocarbons. Oil polymers do not degrade for tens of thousands of years, making them ideal for constructing buildings with super-long lifespans. I'd feel a hell of a lot more comfortable if the last samples of smallpox, malaria, plague, and polio were kept in a plastic bunker in the centre of Antarctica than in a cardboard box in Maryland.
If it does come to the Oil Wars then it won't be a long war. We'll round up every politician and businessman that blocked research and funding to renewable energy, put them all in a big pit, and bury them alive.
No the term was coined by Richard Dawkins (get well soon) as an information analogy to 'gene' and should be pronounced in a similar way.
http://www.nowtv.com/entertainment
You just want the Now TV entertainment pass. That's it. £6.99 a month. You don't need a box, the app is on the PS4. It's an on-demand service owned by Sky, which is mad.
http://www.songfacts.com/detail.php?id=10027
Despite it being #1 during Christmas 1994, Mortimer told NME that he didn't pen the song for the festive season: "It wasn't meant to be a Christmas single," he said; "the A&R department said we should stick some bells on the end, but that's as much as it touches on the old ho-ho-ho stuff. I thought they were all mad."
> He pronounced chimney - chimley
I think this is a dialect thing. In the libretto for Britten's opera The Little Sweep I think the word is spelt chimbl(e)y as in chimbly sweeper.
EDIT Yes, it is dialectal. See here.
The American alphabet song (twinkle twinkle) doesn't even work in this country as 'V' in no way rhymes with 'zed'.
Teachers should just stop trying to make it happen and switch back to the English version of the alphabet song which not only makes sense with 'zed', but it rolls off the tongue and is far easier for kids to learn as it doesn't have that awful "LMNOP" bit in the middle.
For any American spies in the audience...
English version (no idea what the tune is based on)
Yank version (twinkle twinkle)
Our peace lily started to turn yellow and I turned it around and it nos thriving, all I did was start using plant food. I use concentrated plant food, about 10 drops per 1L of water and all my plants look great now!
This is the one I use if anyones interested. Costs about a fiver and lasts months.

It's set up and run by a trusted member of r/vpn and r/privacy. He's also adamant about not just taking vpn suggestions from internet strangers because everyone's needs are different. There are a lot of recommendations for Private Internet Access but I would never personally choose a VPN based in the US. That's me though.
The chart makes it easy enough.
AirVPN are pretty good
You subscribe for a period of time e.g. 1/3/6/12 months
Then you download an application to your computer and login
When you go to surf on your computer you can decide whether to open the AirVPN app and connect to a server, or leave it off
If you turn it on, and connect to a server, you'll be surfing via the VPN — meaning all your traffic is routed through the VPN
And you'd be able to bypass your ISP (in a sense) in order to circumvent restrictions like the above. You'll be surfing behind a new IP address, meaning your identity is obfuscated.
You've had a week to get over it.
Even if we hadn't jumped an hour the length of day is increasing by an astonishing 3 minutes, 55 seconds each day. At the end of the week it will be almost half an hour longer.
You're not really supposed to remember passwords... you're supposed to use something like LastPass to generate a different secure password for each site, store them protected with a pass phrase you can remember, and automatically fill in the login forms for you.
Of course, the fact that we rely on passwords so much that we've got to this state is a genuinely huge problem.
Yeah music often doesn't work with folk talking, which is really annoying. If you are ever desperate again, I'd suggest trying a white noise generator app or website that lets you tune out the specific frequencies that are most annoying you. Works a treat for me.
This site is good: https://mynoise.net/NoiseMachines/whiteNoiseGenerator.php
well, to be fair, it isn't listed quite like that
>1 In a literal manner or sense; exactly: the driver took it literally when asked to go straight over the roundabout tiramisu, literally translated ‘pull-me-up’
>1.1 informal Used for emphasis while not being literally true: I have received literally thousands of letters
it is definitely leaning more towards slang than 'the exact opposite'
That's not what 'medium/media' means. It's the physical material on which the information is communicated that is the 'medium'. The modern media==news is a derivation from the idea of public communication via a physical substrate (these electronics count as well). So modern "media" can be divided into the concrete implementations, e.g. print media, digital media, and broadcast media.
So the oldest form of media is probably art on cave walls. The oldest form of mass media would be the printing presses.

Get one of these. I don't even bother using the ring pulls on cans after buying one. They really are that good.
This. It's like when I bought a "three-cup cafetiere" on Amazon, opened the parcel, and found it's a grand total of 18cm tall
I didn't realise when they said "cup" they meant "shot"
If you're learning C and not C++ I highly recommend picking up The C Programming Language. It's a fantastic introduction to C and unmanaged languages but you do already need to know how to program to get the best out of it.
You need to read The Millionaire Next Door. He eats Aldi brand chocolate, has a second hand car and is most likely retiring 10-15 years before us.
Easy mode... Despite the fact that studies have consistently proven that the youth of today have had it worse than their preceding generations?
Either way, it is lovely to know that you will sit on your high perch and watch people lose money and struggle. What a lovely human being you are.
They apologized because they made a joke about burning the White House down and some people got offended. I'm American and thought that it was funny, but many people here are wound up very tightly. It was stupid.
Well, considering the population of Muslims is about 5%, I'd say it'll be, oooo, three or four centuries. I don't think you'll be laughing for long considering they think that Islam will be the second biggest religion in the US in a few years time.
Unlike you, the vast majority of Muslims are decent people, but you're such a bigot that you're scared shitless of them.
Yes, you're correct about British usage, but we were talking about Australian usage.

It does seem low but chicken nuggets are mostly chicken with a thin layer of breading, and chicken is pretty low calorie overall. Hell, even my own "pigging out meal" from mcdonalds is a full sharebox to myself, and that's only 800 calories. A big mac and medium fries is about 900 for reference
I just looked at some of the extremely negative reviews online; It's astonishing the place stays in business. http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g1752567-d607436-Reviews-Pontin_s_Camber_Sands_Centre-Camber_East_Sussex_England.html
Absolute life saver. I can't believe how many students still write out refernces. Sure, it's a good skill to have and everyone should know how to do it. But who has the patience to actually do them all manually? Sod that.
Put more emphasis on the d and it'll be less of an issue. More 'dyoo' less 'joo'. Might sound weird at first if you're not used to it, but it's technically the correct way to pronounce it (according to the oxford british pronunciation: http://www.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/english/dew#dew).

Please look into product reviews first don't just buy on my say so!! I use the plug to plug hardwire version so I simply plug hard from router Ethernet to PowerPoint adapter and then the other side to my laptop using Ethernet to USB adapter which is about £8 or so. So for me cost about £30 all in.
Not necessarily this specific one, but this style if you're looking to add AC without a full duct system install https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01D3FOIR4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_6H1H35QWD9VJNPB2PH2M The reason is that this style takes existing air from inside and cools it and ejects all the heat from that air outside. The huge benefit is that it doesn't need to take any of the air from inside and pump it outside. Doing so would create a vacuum, which means hot outside air would be pulled in to replace the air you just blew out, which is pointless. Technology Connections did a great video on this here https://youtu.be/_-mBeYC2KGc
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07S3DTS98 this one, it doesn't have on board memory so nothing gets saved which sucks. I was debating just buying something off of dunelm that would've probably been much nicer for similar price, you win some you lose some I guess
I just checked on Amazon, you can buy a massive jar of San Francisco sourdough pretzels. That might make a nice change of pace.
Get one of the oven chip meshes (e.g. like this) - they're a game changer and chips cook way quicker and more evenly. I've used one for years.
It's basically a barbecue-sized George Foreman grill. Got mine from Amazon:
Andrew James Red Electric BBQ Grill With Built In Thermometer Gauge Ideal For Outdoor And Indoor Use All Year Round https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00BU5JXA2/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_SqPFvbTWMW6TK https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00BU5JXA2/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_SqPFvbTWMW6TK
It just has a large griddle and because it's electric, it's perfectly safe to use indoors. It felt very strange barbecuing with beer in hand in the living room but worth it for the novelty factor. The only drawback is you don't get the char-grilled, smoky flavour that you get from charcoal. But it's much easier to clean afterwards!

Enough of that. Here in the U.S. people who drink tea on a regular basis have electric kettles or at the very least a stovetop kettle.
What passes for tea over here is the same thing that passes for tea over there: tea bags filled with fannings. The most popular teas in GB are sold in bags.
Perhaps, for National Tea Day 2019, you chaps could try loose leaf. It may change your life. For my part I have ordered a box of Yorkshire Gold bags from Amazon to see how the other half lives.

KeePass is a free password manager that's worth using, and there is an Android version too for your phone. (I believe there are compatible iOS apps if you have an iPhone, but have no personal experience of them). If you store the database file in a Dropbox folder (and install Dropbox on your phone and PC) it will auto-sync between your devices.
Then you can have a unique login for every service you use (just don't forget the master KeePass password, or you're really screwed!), which is highly recommended. And don't forget to enable 2-factor authentication on those important accounts (email, bank accounts, etc).
Look on the bright side - they could have hacked into your bank account or, potentially worse, your email account, which could have been disastrous.
