Truecaller za android
i
Not sure if you can do by calling customer care. But you can block numbers based on area code by using apps like truecaller...

Adding link on how to block using truecaller. https://www.google.com/amp/s/truecaller.blog/2015/06/02/truecaller-introduces-improved-spam-blocking-features/amp/
Thanks
A suggestion. If you’re not already using it, I’ll suggest Truecaller for IOS or Truecaller for Android, a free app that has made dealing with spam calls much easier.
Results may vary, as some spammers use the same number, while others change numbers constantly. The app allows users to block and report spam numbers, which are added to their block list database. I update the block database every day or two and I’m pretty happy with it.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.truecaller&hl=en
It's shitty because it uploads your phonebook to them, and the new version is just annoying. I started using it because it lets me block a range of numbers -- my phone number is 212-555-1212 and I keep getting calls from a spammer who spoofs random numbers that begin with 212-555
I've suggested it in the past but for the sake of reference I'll post again.
If you've got an Android phone, download and install TrueCaller. It'll integrate with your phonebook and each time someone calls you'll get a more in depth caller ID. Most spam callers are identified by default when you first run the app. When you receive a call, the app will notify you who exactly is calling and if it's a legitimate number so you don't have to waste time picking up and hearing trash. Pretty handy little app to have especially considering I've not heard those messages in well over 2 years.

If you have an Android phone, install an app called TrueCaller. It has a giant directory of scam numbers/telemarketer numbers/etc. and integrates with your phone app. It functions like an enhanced caller ID so that when you receive a call it'll tell you if the call is legit or from a flagged number so you can decide to pick up or ignore it altogether.
Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.truecaller&hl=en
there was one simlar i used to use called truecaller that was really cool, it shown the person you are being called by if its a company, but AFAIK a lot of newer phones (i think the one plus 6 defo) has this functionality built in (wouldnt be surprised if BT networked phones have it built in too seeing as truecaller is on a fair few bt handsets)
I know most people here hate Truecaller but after testing every caller ID I could find on the Play Store this was the only one capable of identifying telemarketing, bill collectors and even personal numbers.
The second in line is Whoscall. Also very good but behind Truecaller in the matter of ID-ing numbers.
It is important to note that this was all tested in Brazil, so results may be different for your region.
pro tip, use a whitelisting app like truecaller, or the local one Hiya. shit works.
This will probably be buried since I am so late, but I use this; https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.truecaller&hl=en
I also simply do not answer any number I don't recognize, if I see the same number a few times and it isn't shown as bad in Truecaller, then I block it and it will add it to their database also.
Truecaller and youmail
Tru caller is excellent at identifying spam calls, you then route them to yo mail with the custom "This number is out of service" message. I installed both of them a little over a month ago. I was getting 30-40 calls a day. Now I get none.
Put yourself on the do not call list: https://www.donotcall.gov/
There is also an app called TrueCaller witch works similarly to "Google Suspects to be spam" but the reports are crowd sourced and it catches a lot more then google I find.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.truecaller&hl=en
Installed TrueCaller the other week, thing has been amazing at blocking robo calls.
You mark something as spam, and it gets synced with a global spam list, then others update and can instantly recognize that number as spam.
Phone spam prevention is finally getting near the level of email spam prevention!
Yo uso Truecaller.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.truecaller
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.truecaller&hl=pt_BR
It says where the number is from and if there's spam reports of it, and if the app doesn't find it you can automatically Google it via the number on the app; no need to copy it.
Essaye TrueCaller
There is a pro version but the free version works grand, even identifies businesses calling and even sometimes mobile numbers without having the names saved
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.truecaller
Is this on a cell phone? If so and it's an Android, you can get True Caller which is a free program that replaces the stock dialer, and automatically blocks scam, spam and other unwanted calls.
Oh yes all of the time. I made a disclaimer in my voicemail message that due to the amount of spam I receive I do not answer phone calls from numbers I do not know. I worry a little that the spam callers could use that recording somehow, I heard that they can record your voice and use it against you. But I'd rather be prepared if a potential job opportunity arises.
Also, I use TrueCaller https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.truecaller
It's user based, so if someone gets a spam call and puts it in TrueCaller they record it and share the information. So when someone is calling me it helps identify if it's spam or not. Or, an important number.
iPhone can blacklist anyone too, and the app is a spam caller report app which uses people's reports and some sources to automatically block spam callers. So when they call you they can't get though.
Also I'm pretty sure it's for both android and Iphone
Yeah just checked it's for android too
If you want to check who is calling, install True caller ID. Other users recommended Should I answer this call? but this app doesn't recognize the number and does not have a database to avoid the spam.
At least for my, the mysterious silent calls were from a spam bot from Claro, the recorded message was not working.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.truecaller&hl=es
Download the Truecaller app. It has worked wonders in blocking those pricks.
I've found Truecaller to be really helpful with blocking spam calls. It's crowdsourced so people can report numbers as spam and it'll automatically block the calls for you if it's been reported enough.
They have an app for SMS but I've not tried that.
If you're on android check out TrueCaller for blocking spam calls. I used to get phone calls every fucking day from "consumer services" trying to sell me some credit card bullshit and also every so often from some auto warranty place. Blocking the numbers never helped because they always spoofed a new number when they called.
I found that truecaller thing about 3 weeks ago and so far not a single bullshit spam call has got through. I've gotten like 2 notifications from the app wanting me to install their SMS app but that is WAY less annoying than non stop spam calls.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.truecaller&hl=en
How would re-rooting his phone help? Unless you were telling him to factory reset as part of the procedure? All OP needs to do is either locate the APK or download another such as Truecaller.
> Truecaller lets you search beyond your phonebook, identify unknown incoming calls, block calls you don’t want to receive, and make relevant contact suggestions based on time and place – so you never have to leave the service to find the right contact.
I use true caller, works like a charm. It'll give me as much information in an unknown caller, and lets me put people into a block list if I have to. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.truecaller
Depends. When you write "TrueCaller", do you mean the one that is the official, or some shady non-official app you've installed that just uses this name?
Did you install it from the Play Store, meaning this one:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.truecaller
Sounds like a shitty situation. Are you using Android or iOS?
On Android Truecaller allows blocking a number range (not just individual numbers) if it is set as your default dialler (although you might need to get the premium version for that feature, not 100% sure).
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.truecaller
I can't stress this enough but all of our numbers are everywhere and old it gets more places it stays. I remember a family relative who still has an old number since 2000 and gets messages, calls and whatnot. I told her to get Truecaller (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.truecaller) and enroll in program by telecom companies to not receive unwanted messages and calls. For email, use a personal email address differently and public or for sign-ups different like Tutanota for former and Google for latter. Use Truecaller as default and see how it blocks the shit out. I use it (using premium for ad free experience and better support) and never felt scam is irritating me. Avoid system message and phone apps. Use better ones like by Google with spam filters and Truecaller.
Nah you can't I get these as well, they are illegal scamming spam and don't follow the rules of "stop" or opt-out. These are the type of messages we get
The Tru Caller app would be my suggestion to stopping these. Tmobile also has a new scam protection app for their subscribers.
I honestly just opted to change completely over to Android Messages which will filter out most of those scam messages with their latest update.
I'm confused - the top half of the screenshot looks like it's from LinkedIn but the bottom looks like it's for a product called Truecaller.
Looking at the Truecaller page on the Play Store, I don't see anything about having profiles or anything.
Google didn't even sell pixel phones in India, youtube RED said it'll come soon right until it was shut down, and what song is this still doesn't work, I can only dream when will stadia will launch here, so I'm pretty sure these features won't come here any time soon.
We have something calls ture caller that's crowd sourced directory it spammers and ppl, the way it works is to know who's calling you you need to register, so you'll show up on thiers etc. it also integrates payments by linking it your bank etc.
I used to use Ex Dialer too! Loved it. Just plain simple and lightweight. I settled on Truecaller. You do have to press the icon at the bottom to bring up the number pad tho, apart from that it's the same - swipe right to call; left to text.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.truecaller&hl=pt
Since the latest wave of Robocall, I've begun using Truecaller and it's been working great. It flags and blocks known spam calls immediately. It's been a few weeks now since I've even answered a Robocall.
Too Long, Didn't Read (Muito longo, não li)
Truecaller is great I loved it on OnePlus: Free https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.truecaller&hl=en_CA
Or some phones (LG?) have ability to block ranges of numbers... I have a samsung so I can't recall.
It seems that your comment contains 1 or more links that are hard to tap for mobile users. I will extend those so they're easier for our sausage fingers to click!

I highly suggest you switch your phone app to Truecaller. This thing has given me my phone back.
It's completely free, but I would highly suggest paying for their subscription simply to support a quality app. They crowd source millions of known scam numbers. If a number still makes it through, you can block it and add it to their full list that will trickle out to other users. It works for scam texts too.
Some calls will get through simply because scammers are constantly using new numbers. Keep the number list updated. I don't know if it updates automatically or not.
From your screenshot, I see you’re on a mobile. I’ll suggest you use Truecaller. It is free, has a distribbuted blck list and you can add your own. It’s fast, easy and effective.
I used to get a lot of junk calls, now i get them rarely. I’m just a satisfied user passing on a suggestion.
I hope this helps you.
Android Users: Truecaller for Android
Hi,
If you haven't installed Truecaller then my guess is that you signed in to our webpage and kept 'Enhanced search' enabled. You can disable it if you sign in again, this will withdraw the uploaded contacts.
Again, we do not upload your phonebook to make them public or searchable it's stated in the Google play descriptions too - tap read more: "https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.truecaller&hl=en"
Thank you for your understanding, Kamran
It doesn't report them to the FCC, but it does report them to others with the app (I think there's a limit on the minimum number so that a single person can't be reported as spam when they're not).
Despite being on the telephone preferences, I kept getting spam calls, but after this started blocking them, and identifying other callers, some of the callers took me off the list as I wasn't answering them.
You all need to install Truecaller Android or Truecaller iPhone
This is a brilliant app. I've been using it for many months after my number got onto a list. It identifies and blocks spam calls without having to manually block numbers. It can tell you who is calling by looking up caller id on the internet. You can tag a number as spam if a new one sneaks through.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.truecaller
Can't you download the dialer from the Play Store?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.truecaller&hl=en
or was the one integrated in Cyanogen OS different from the one in the app store?
> The fact of the matter is that Google's Android has 90% dominance. As a developer, if you don't get your app on Google's store, you're losing a huge chunk of potential revenue
Which would be a very strong argument if they were limiting access to their store, which they do not.
>As a developer, if your app competes with a Google app, even if it has superior functionality, you're fighting an uphill battle because Google's own apps are preinstalled as default, and people have no need to browse the store for an alternate app.
citation needed
I'd love to see some examples of these fantastic apps that are toiling away in obscurity because they compete with a default google app. Meanwhile, apps that do things like replace the dialer are able to get well over 100 Million installs based on their quality: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.truecaller
Facebook has a billion+ installs despite competing with Google+. Skype has half a billion+ installs directly competing with Hangouts.
I can find tons of examples of applications that replace default applications and are thriving. I'd be very interested to find these examples of great applications that would have succeeded if only they didn't have the default app to contend with.
It's also funny that people want to punish the only manufacturer that actually even lets people replace their default apps for daring to include their own apps by default.
truecaller is the best app with this features. I'm using this app. it has a huge database of scam numbers and will warn you of such incoming calls. Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.truecaller apk if you can reach it from Play Store: http://choilieng.com/apk-on-pc/com.truecaller.apk
If you have android check out Truecaller https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.truecaller&hl=en
I used to get those goddamned consumer services calls EVERY SINGLE DAY and blocking the # did no good because they just called from a new one each time. Ever since installing this app a few months ago it blocks a good 95% of the spam calls. It does occasionally have a notification asking you to install their SMS app but that is WAY less annoying than my phone ringing from telemarketers all day every day.
As of now, you can probably use the Truecaller app and add it in that registry. Other than that, I don't know where to put it. I want it to be easily accessible to the public.
Anybody else has ideas?
I have an app called Truecaller that brings up all info when someone calls. It can also show text info If I search, so there is probably an app for that too. It doesn't always have the info, though.
I use an app for this, as I found that the stock Android solution (coming from a Nexus 5) is wonky and doesn't work well.
I've tried all sorts of apps and the one that works best for me so far is TrueCaller. This is the only call blocker app I have found that will consistently, silently block calls from unwanted callers. And its also crowdsourced so you can see for example "400 people have labelled this caller as spam" before deciding to answer or reject a new caller.
Anyway that's just my experience. I'm not affiliated with this app in any way, I just use it and like it.
I would strongly recommend Truecaller. I'm using a Nexus 6, but if Motorola is using basically stock firmware (they are), you'll have to go third party.
Truecaller uses a crowdsourced database to automatically block known spam callers, as well as custom blocking with the option to let them silently ring through (don't know they're being blocked) or straight to voicemail (looks like phone's off)
EDIT: Link
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.truecaller&hl=en
Here : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.truecaller&hl=fr
I actually downloaded this one since the one in CM crashes for me.
Everyone is flipping their shit about trueCaller, but it's actually a decent app, made by a swedish company. And I think the swedes are just anal as us (French) about data protection and privacy.
I still wish I could use the stock Android dialer with google CallerID though.
TrueCaller kinda does this
Setup your phone with the national and state do not call lists:
http://telemarketingregistration.com/State_DNC.html
Also, if your phone is Android there's the Truecaller app. This crowd sources potential telemarketers and spammers and allows you to block calls from the same number going forward.
I know for sure that Truecaller can do that.... Screenshot.
Please note that Truecaller will copy all of your contacts to its database. If that's not an issue then you can go ahead and install it. Or else look for something else.
One more thing.... if you do install Truecaller, go to settings and disable all of the settings that you find unnecessary. If you leave everything to default, Truecaller is a PITA.
Edit: You can try this as well -> Calls Blacklist
Truecaller does that but I deleted it due to too many ads.
Recomendo o Truecaller.
True caller, used it for months now. 5 stars https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.truecaller
Use Truecaller, and you're good to go.
It absolutely is 100% possible...
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.truecaller&hl=en
Thanks for the alert. That's an important warning.
Curious: how is this app different from Truecaller ?
There are apps like Truecaller that let you block unknown number messages, or specific numbes.
See company details -> https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.truecaller
Dual Apps -> https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.parallel.space.lite
One Hand Mode -> Gestures are built into Android 9.0 now

MIUI has so much rubbish packed into it when compared to stock Android. I think you'll find clean Android much nicer to use.
You should use an app that blocks call with specific prefixes, like truecaller https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.truecaller
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.truecaller&hl=pt_BR
https://www.microsoft.com/pt-br/store/p/truecaller/9wzdncrfj3ml
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/truecaller-spam-identification-block/id448142450?mt=8
My suggestions:
This is a short list. I honestly dont use a lot of stuff on my phone but what I do use I want the experience to be amazing. I can offer some suggestion as well.
USE THE HELL OUT OF SAMSUNG PAY!!!
There is absolutely no reason not to use it. I have yet to find a place it did not work. You can technically get it to work on gas pumps also. For this though, I cannot recommend enough using the Exxon Speedpass app. It hooks up to Samsung Pay as well. You can hook it up to a Plenti account also and get points for Plenti stuff.
So you know....I have never used anything except an iPhone since it was first released. I have had all releases of the iPhone. This is the first Android phone I have not had the urge to leave. I used a Note 2 back in the day for about two weeks and couldnt stand not being on iOS.
If I think of anything else, I will post back on here.
Truecaller has support for blocking spam calls, if you don't want a bunch of spam contacts in your phone book.
Using 'third' party call app.. are you dumb or can't read?..
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.truecaller
Read the description dumb dumb
Gibt es, z.B. Truecaller unter Android kann das
I've also gotten a lot of spam calls over the past two or three weeks. Mostly from international numbers. It ranges from surveys, to charitable donations, to "Microsoft" wanting to help me with viruses on my PC.
I have no idea where they picked up my number from.
Samsung's Smart feature uses Hiya's database, which seems to be terrible anywhere outside the US. I've had more luck in the past with Scandinavian-based TrueCaller - but their app became a bit spammy. Gulesider has a decent enough database for Norwegian numbers, and their app (on Android, at least) does caller lookup as it rings - similar to Samsung Smart.
Right now, I'm just relying on Hiya and reporting / blocking any spam calls I get. So hopefully you're doing the same and we're both scratching each others back.
Whenever I give my number out I always ask the person what number(s) they'll be calling me from, and then add those to my whitelist. Then I explain I get a lot of telemarketer calls so I'm using call blockers.
I also posted this in another thread:
tl;dr:
I've had the same number for 25+ years and hadn't received a single spam call until last year. I installed 3 apps (android) and fixed the problem. (Apps at bottom).
Like I said, I'd never received a single spam call and then one day last year, I started getting calls from gentlemen located in Bombay asking for the same person every time to talk about an online personal loan that had been applied for. I gave them the "sorry buddy, wrong number" routine on day one and that was that. Then the calls increased, like a lot, like 10-15 a day. Finally I explained the situation to one of the nicer one of these guys and he explained that "Jane Doe" (don't want to give the real name here) had applied for a personal loan on several websites and had given my number.
At first, I though someone was messing with me and had submitted my number to a bunch of different places to harass me for some reason. But, pay-day lenders were the only ones that called me. At first. After declining these loans and thinking (stupidly) that someday this deluge would end, I started getting spam calls from everywhere. The same stuff that everyone else is talking about in this thread.
Damn. I had a clean number, never even had to look at caller ID, it was always family, friend, or legit business and now I was getting 10-20 spam calls a day on average. One day it was 40+ calls.
This comment is already too long so I won't bore you with all the different apps/setups I tried. Some worked halfway, some worked then quit working, some used to work great then had issues when android updated. (By working great, I want these calls blocked silently, preferably with zero notification; visual or audible; and want them hung up on; not sent to voicemail).
Here's my setup now, and I've gone from a massive influx to 2-3 per week on average. I'll also routinely go a week or two with zero calls.
"Truecaller: Caller ID, SMS spam blocking & Dialer" https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.truecaller
Works great, great interface, but doesn't have a "block all but contacts" setting.
"Calls Blacklist PRO - Call Blocker" https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vladlee.callsblacklist
This has the "block all except contacts" setting and works great.
"No More Voicemail" https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=co.teltech.novm
Through a lot of reading I've come to believe that if spam calls are picked up/hung up, sent to voicemail, etc. they classify the number as a good one and keep it. No More Voicemail does something in the call forwarding settings and calls ring forever (I've tested this). I don't know if this app helped or not, but like I said, I've just about eliminated spammers using these three apps. The calls had lessened a lot, but really dropped off after I started using this app.
Good luck.
Instale o Truecaller.
Truecaller works well for me.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.truecaller
Prova Truecaller. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.truecaller&hl=it
If you don't see the email in your gmail sent folder then one of two things:
1) it could be your google account is compromised and the hacker deleted it from your sent folder after sending,
2) More likely, like people have mentioned, the email was spoofed: A non google email server (anyone on the internet can run an email server) was used to send an email with headers that had your gmail address in the 'from' field. Email authentication (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Email_authentication) can help email providers weed out possible illegitimate senders, and anti spam filters can often block spoofed emails, but not all email providers have the best antispam filters.
It seems that your contacts list has definitely been compromised. Malware on your computer might access your email client contact list, but many google users give permission to access their contact list; For example if you download a game to your android phone it might ask for permission to access your contacts and most people, if they want to try the game click ok. Even if the app is uninstalled your contacts may have already been copied. For example, the popular TrueCaller app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.truecaller&hl=en) only works by reading peoples contact list and they were hacked (http://www.gadgetsnow.com/tech-news/TrueCaller-hacked-1-million-Indians-data-at-risk/articleshow/21144470.cms)
Mate, you need TrueCaller
Truecaller is actually available on Android as well, where it does block the calls.

I use Truecaller and Truemessenger to block most of the spam calls or texts.
The apps have spam list that any user can update and you can use that to block most if not all calls from telemarketers. When you get a call from one of the phone numbers in the spam list, it will get auto-rejected. Most of them stop calling after the 3rd or 4th tries based on my experience.
Sometimes if the telemarketers company is using a new phone number and it isn't in the spam list yet, you can just add the number to the spam list.

Hope this helps :D
Get truecaller. It will show you who's calling even if they have their number blocked and is able to block both SMS' and calls (on Android and Winphone, don't have an iPhone so no idea if it works the same) The national opt-out list is a joke.
Truecaller:
Edit - I see you have truecaller, but I'm leaving the links up for the poor souls who don't.
I use TrueCaller. You can block specific numbers, not sure about blocking all.
How about Truecaller? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.truecaller&hl=en
Basically it integrates with your phonebook and acts as a more robust caller ID. Check the Playstore page for more information.
Hmm,,Have you tried using other sms applications? Like Truecaller It does have options to block those.

> But I'm not using Truecaller App.
Wow! It's a 106MB download from https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.truecaller&hl=en_US&gl=US !
That's RIDICULOUS!
Your truck is the audio call you are getting.
This tyre (tire in US) is the truecaller notification.
There is an app called truecaller which automatically blocks spam callers.
I'm guessing Truecaller for Android is one good example
I think it was probably this one: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.truecaller
It's possible it was this one: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.mistergroup.muzutozvednout
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.truecaller&hl=en_US
I used that before iOS 13 and had very good results. Just keep the filters updated. Hope it helps!
you mean you got by through your smartphone ? if so try install
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/truecaller/id448142450 Apple Phone
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.truecaller&hl=en Android Phone
Best App to avoid random weird call .
I use the Trucaller dialer for their spam database. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.truecaller
There are many call screening apps on the Play Store. Try a few out and see which ones work for you. I'd recommend Truecaller.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.truecaller
I can't wait to cancel my caller id to try this app's caller id but I will have to wait for my 1st month to be over before I can do so.
Wrong link. Never used it myself but have read about it and heard others using it. This link has 100million. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.truecaller
There are apps for that... No need for getting it from your carrier.
Just an example: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.truecaller
This has been happening to me lately too. I've been using this app recently and have gotten a lot less spam:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.truecaller
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.truecaller&hl=sv

Truecaller borde passa dig.
Good luck.
Is this the app she used on his phone to call your mom?
Look into an app called TrueCaller
You'll get more answers on /r/AndroidQuestions
Install True Caller on your phone.
just install the app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.truecaller&hl=en
Try true caller, works most of the time.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.truecaller
get Truecaller
Does this work differently than the TrueCaller app?
If it helps and you have Android:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.truecaller&hl=en
This will block telemarketing calls.
Might be worth trying TrueCaller like on CM https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.truecaller&hl=en_GB (if you can't get the google dialer working)
Source?
From their Play Store listing >Truecaller NEVER uploads your phonebook to make it searchable or public.

It looks different than the Play Store version of Truedialer.
install truecaller it has spam number blacklists
I use truecaller for this
Also...try this. TrueCaller app
Try Truecaller or Should I Answer?
I use an app called truecaller to screen phone numbers. It's quite effective. When the number comes up it tells you if it's a business or not, and how many people reported it as spam. Then you can add it to a spam list there and then and reject the call at the same time. Known spam numbers don't even ring. You just get a notification that a call was attempted.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.truecaller
TrueCaller too works well in some communities.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.truecaller
Just came here to check if anyone mentioned this.
Here are links for anyone curious:
Perhaps something like TrueCaller could help you filter out the bollocks calls?
Edit: DISREGARD THAT, see /u/marke0110 comment below.
Truecaller App has been very useful for me. Give it a try!
i installed an app called truecaller, based on this MakeUseOf article http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/best-android-apps-2017/
is this the same one you guys are talking about?
play store link - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.truecaller
Just download Truecaller app, it does the exact same thing.
Maybe Truecaller
I much prefer Truecaller: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.truecaller&hl=en
I use Truecaller and have had no problems with it at all. Seems quite popular (based on the number of downloads) as well.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.truecaller
Truecaller is already in the Google Play Store with 50-100 million installs
I don't think the company will take the photos from your contacts list but I could be wrong.
Truecaller seems to store phone numbers(from contacts and incoming calls) into a database so that when a user of theirs reports it as spam, they can keep track of it and let their other users know when a call is spam.
And like the video says, if you don't like it then you can disable it. Which seems to be just like their integration of WhisperPush
