I just got a 10 pack from amazon. Inspired me to hand a few out to the local homeless.
This shit is bad news man. Feels like the new normal.
Alrick ? He looks so much happier when he was shaking hands with Governor Jay Inslee.
Someone by that name is even an author on Amazon.
>It is a story of a troubled young teenager growing up poor in Seattle, Washington. He finds himself engulfed in a dysfunctional family with a hustler father, mother strung out on drugs, domestic violence, guns, and the lure of gangs.
not sure if you're serious but, free transport and specifically decommoditzing transportation is a great step towards leveling the playing field for poorer people. the reason why we don't have free transportation in America is because of politics, partly motivated by auto industry and partly motivated by socioeconomic/race factors.
a lot of countries around the world offer free or partially free public transportation - e.g. anyone over 60 in taiwan can ride the bus for free.
if you're interested in how cities and transportation got to where we are today, look up Jane Jacobs and her book, or watch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fwf5h3MIdRs.
The water bob is probably the best urban solution to this problem.
You should keep a 5 gallon container, or a couple of cases of le croix around too.
This brings up my weekly reminder to read <em>Sons of the Profits,</em> by Bill Spiedel, former Seattle Times editor and creator of the underground tour.
From that book, I learned that the railroad companies made their real money by creating towns they owned. They were able to buy up Tacoma real estate for nothing, and plopped their west coast terminus station there, expecting they could slay Seattle and take its crown, making a mint as they turned barren farmland into downtown real estate. The Northern Pacific Railroad commissioned the Olmstead Brothers, premiere architects of their age, to draw up a city plan, which was summarily rejected due to curvy streets, too much green space, and avenue names such as Orinoco.
Tacoma was essentially a planned and marketed product of a city. However, Seattle had momentum. And hookers.
I hope they find a way to survive this devastating financial burden.
This "person" wrote a "Christian" book about her experience in Zambia adopting these kids. She capitalized on her relationship with them with the book, and then continued to do so by stirring up medical dramas, it seems. What a horrible, horrible woman.
Several people over at /r/Dashcam said this one has done them right for a long time. For a duel cam, with those specs, and at an $80 price point, I figured wth? and bought one yesterday.
Otherwise, the Viofo line are known to be the best cheap options and Blackvue are high quality but more expensive.
An important difference between the depression-era tramps and today's homeless community is the lack of organizations like the tourist unions of the past. For the most-part, the hobos that knocked on your great grandmother's door followed an ethical code and even hobo courts were held when necessary.
you can get a sink hose nozzle adapter if you would like to use a hose:
Also in yesterday’s post Cliff Mass said he plans on analyzing this weather event in the context of global warming in a future post. Should be an interesting read. I’m also excited for the updated version of his book that was recently announced, since it will apparently include analyses of some recent weather events, air quality issues, and wildfires.
This sub has the most bunch of shit talkers ever. None of you would say half this shit in person. To prove it I will give a chance to do so. Save the date October 20, 2021 from 1:15pm to 2:30pm in the lobby of the Park Inn By Radisson hotel in San Jose, Costa Rica. I will be there. Look for the thin guy in espadrilles, salmon-colored shorts, and a Breton stripe tee. Make a subtle twitching motion with your left leg and I will take a copy of Sodomy and the Pirate Tradition: English Sea Rovers in the Seventeenth-Century Caribbean out of my taupe satchel and open it to page 17. Approach me and point to the word "rum" on the page and I will remove my left shoe. Exhale sharply. Then I will give you the chance to say "half this shit in person."

The Nazi base of support was not socialist.
The socialists had their own organizations under the guise of the KPD or the SPD affiliated Reichsbanner.

Keep in mind those are probably not service dogs. Those harnesses are easily purchased by anybody.

Some people get them just so they "appear" more like service dogs. Also, most (if not all) service dogs should have some obedience training and wouldn't be prone to attacking other animals. Probably just some asshole's pets. Asshole owners can make for asshole dogs.
I recommend the Library. It's a beautiful building in Seattle. Plus they have dictionaries where you can learn how to spell recommendations. :)
IANAL
Discharging that on a beach <strong>COULD</strong> get you into pretty serious trouble depending on jurisdiction. Even though the thing is just a trendy and vastly overpriced weed torch for the easily duped, WA state law is very broad in what it considers a weapon. Best find a shooting range.
Also DO NOT USE THIS IN THE FOREST OR ANYWHERE ELSE YOU COULD START A FIRE.
This is a cheap option that would be better:

Or if you want something that gives you better protection, this is industry standard for asbestos abatement:
You need to buy HEPA cartridges for the second one, they're pink. Second one requires a fit test in order to be effective as well.
> I bet Pemco is upset that they are asked to pay for commercial losses on a residential policy)
I bet a vast majority of AirBnB hosts don't tell their insurers that they're running their home like a commercial property, and don't have the rider on their policy required to do it.
And I also would bet that AirBnB fully knows this, and doesn't really guide its user base into seeking required insurance. Because it would significantly cut into the pool of AirBnB properties, as more people found out they really aren't covered unless they pay significantly more for insurance.
This page really does make it sound like your home would be covered in all cases up to $1 million. Not one iota of mention that they're actually basing this off of your own homeowners' insurance approving the claim, nor do they say that unless your own homeowners' insurance is aware you're running a hotel at home, you're probably going to be denied or at the very least sandbagged and delayed.
Fucking AirBnB plays it both ways, they paint this delightful picture of stress-free income to their userbase, and they roll the dice and hope too many don't get self aware enough to check the fine print. Or con their userbase into choosing to not check the fine print, and to hope for the best.
AirBnB lures its userbase and carefully avoids any legal liability for itself.
Fuck this guy for not checking, he sounds like a typical dipshit who deliberately ignored knowing what he should have, but ... AirBnB is definitely playing on peoples' willing ignorance in order to grow their business. And that is absolutely on AirBnB. They know what the fuck they're doing. People want to believe this is a wonderful and liability-free way to make money off their own property. And ignore the reality, that they're opening themselves up to being robbed with no recourse.
This is lying with data. Was this income-adjusted? Almost certainly not. The disparity is not along the race lines, it is along the income lines. Well to do parents have resources to help their kids succeed, lower income people don’t - and quite often, don’t care.
This book was an eye opener for me: https://www.amazon.com/Run-Fugitive-Fieldwork-Encounters-Discoveries/dp/022613671X/ref=nodl_
If the parents are drug addicts/alcoholics and no one in the family held a job in three generations, what do you expect the kids in this environment to become?

Off topic a bit, have you read Ishmael?
I mostly have a problem with how politicians use the homeless people as a sort of soap box or virtue signaling to get people to vote for them. Same with people who profit from, I'm talking about board members of non-profits, the tax money they have no idea how to spend to effectively help.
I grew up poor as dirt with a missionary for a dad. I was homeless a few months in my late teens. I've eaten out of dumpsters. Once when living in Arizona, I had an apartment just no money for food, I ran out of the food box I got from the food bank and went over to the KFC to see what was in the dumpster. I'd been kiting checks for KFC delivery for a week or so and they finally caught on. A car pulled up. I thought they were going to beat me up. They yelled at me and asked what I was doing and I said "looking for food". They gave me $20.00 and I went to the grocery store. I was 17. I went to AZ to try and go to MMI. It didn't work out. Finally, after working my way through college as an adult I'm finally doing well for myself in computer security. But now I'm a privileged "tech bro" who just doesn't get it and is selfish. It's not that my family is very poor, and I need to know that I will not go into a state home or die in the streets when I'm old. I just wonder to what end do these people want to extract money from people like me. People who finally broke free from low/no income. The first person in the family to graduate college. A person from a long line of laborers and small-time fishermen. But I can "afford it". I cannot afford to give my money away to bums. That will never be a thing I can afford.
Agreed. My 10 year old niece goes to a private school where they have a programming class that teaches kids how to use MIT's Scratch to make simple video games (designed for kids). And she loves it, spends way more time than her brother making all kinds of stuff. Her and her friends made a little web store to sell crafts to friends/family, that's where it starts.
Where is their SS going? All $1,500 of it?
This is a good time to brush up on what it covers & doesn't cover.
Every year, Social Security reviews the inflation rate over the previous year, and if costs in general have gone up, so do people's Social Security checks. For 2017, the inflation adjustment is 0.3%. For a typical retiree who would otherwise be receiving a $1,355 check for January 2017, the inflation adjustment would lift that person's benefit check to $1,360. Unfortunately for most retirees, even that minuscule increase won't actually show up in their checks. https://www.fool.com/retirement/2016/11/14/social-securitys-2017-raise-is-tiny-and-you-wont-s.aspx
I became disabled ( do not collect disability), in my 50's, but I would not be able to collect SS till I am 67.
.....What this means to you -- whether or not you've retired The unfortunate reality that Medicare cost increases are outpacing Social Security benefit increases reflects the fact that healthcare costs frequently increase faster than the overall inflation rate. In addition, people tend to spend more on healthcare as they age, even before considering the higher inflation rate in healthcare. That combination of factors makes medical expenses likely to be the biggest driver of your cost increases in your golden years.
And this data looks like it supports the hypothesis that connected networks are important predictors for bicycle ridership (source). We're seeing a nice jump in ridership now that the protected lane on 2nd is actually finished.
They need to be able to filter wood smoke, which is unfortunately one of the smaller particles (1 micrometer), so the filter needs to be super dense. It needs to be at least MERV rating 17.
I don't think you can buy MERV 17 right away. It's typically achieved by two-stage filtration. There are some MERV 14 filters, like this one https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00TUDHBWS/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_ZM10CbKXP458M
It's better than nothing, but it wont reliably filter all wooden smoke particles.
If you're susceptible to smoke (allergies or something), buy a standalone filter unit with HEPA filter (and carbon prefilter for odors). Typical HEPA is MERV 18-20+, but you cant put HEPA into the typical AC unit. Like this one - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01D8DAYII/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_8U10Cb3QSG2QB

It's less about the rain and more about the 200+ days of overcast and 8.5 hours of daylight in December and January. SAD is a real thing.
If you look at those light up monkey decorations and think "this is a slur against black people" then you're racist.
The history of using 'monkey' as a slur against black people is well known, and of course the kind of caricature is also well- known. These lights have nothing in common with those racist caricatures. Literally nothing.
But I'll play the game, if these monkey lights are in fact racist caricatures then should the Zoo even advertise their monkey and ape exhibits? If any representation of a non-human primate is in fact a racist caricature then we ought to be consistent, right? Is this racist?
Seriously, bidets are life-changing. Mine was $35 and I don't know how I lived without it. Easy to install even in my rental apartment.

maybe he can use RES to ignore things he doesn't like, instead of lashing out at ideas he doesn't like and calling them personal attacks
meanwhile here's an example of a personal attack where rattus literally called another user retarded and then used the mod challenge to justify it lol
three summers ago I decided it was finally time to buy fans as I lay wide awake in a pool of my own sweat in the middle of the night.
First I looked at the cheap push-pull dual window fan for $30. Then I looked at two box window fans to create a full apartment push-pull airflow for $50. Then I thought, how about two high RPM Lasko fans to push-pull super fast for $80.
THEN I found this 6000 BTU window AC on Amazon for $100: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LM5E2U6. $100 / 36 months = ~$2.75/mo cost to own, plus an additional ~$60/yr cost on my electric bill to cool a 1,000ft space.
As God as my witness, I'll never be sweaty again. DO IT
The book "Dreamland" is a great way to get a better understanding of this problem.
TLDR: It's a combination of the abuse of over-prescribed prescription pain medication that was heavily marketed, followed up by small time Mexican drug dealers that supply black tar heroin once the source of prescription drugs runs out or becomes too expensive.
The book gives you a better understanding of why you can't just easily shut the heroin dealers down. They generally are small cells run by only a few people, their dealers carry very small amounts, and if the people running operations in the US get arrested, they are just deported back to Mexico where they can try to enter the country illegally again or find some new recruits to do it for them. There's no big overlord or kingpin you can take out to shut down the flow. It's basically a highly successful franchise business.
Odd that you picked those two breweries. They are both owned by the massive conglomerate AB-InBev. I do not consider them local anymore, and most in the beer community would agree.
If you want a good read into how AB-InBev first got into buying independent, micro-breweries, read Barrel-Aged Stout and Selling Out by Josh Noel.
Sure!
The harness was recommended when I googled around for reviews. Definitely go for a “vest” style harness because they’re much harder for cats to get out of than the classic harness-style ones (we all know cats can defy physics). Obviously you can use pretty much any leash with it.

Yeah I'm always a bit confused why so many people on reddit get indignant over a paywall or ads on a news website. Journalist need paychecks too. Good, quality journalism, non click bait journalism, non corporate funded journalism, proper investigative journalism all requires time and money. That money has to come from somewhere yet so many people on the reddit are appalled that anyone would ever ask them to view an ad or pay a small sum each month to read the article.
Unless we want the entire internet to be filled with click bait or corporate/political backed stories we need to support journalism. Right now GroupOn has an offer in which Seattle Times is 30 bucks a year for their online subscription. We can support Seattle's last major news publication for less than $2.50/month right now
Real journalism is even more important in an election year. It is extremely important to democracy. With the wave of fake news, foreign countries manipulating online content, we need real journalism that is funded by the viewers and not by outside interests. And no, I promise I don't work for Seattle Times or any other news publication. I just believe strongly about this
> I am wondering if a company or person with multiple units could register them under different LLCs.
Guessing that'll already happen. There's LLC's on Capitol Hill that rent SFH's out to Amazon interns, bunk beds, multiple people per night. There's no way that complies with existing zoning, but they skirt the law claiming it's an AirBnB, so none of the residents is 'permanent.'
Which brings up a pretty good point, I wonder if this law will have some easy way to report properties that might not be in compliance.
Edit: Some people wanted links, here you go
According to the ads, this thing sleeps 12 overall. In what looks to be a SFH, in what probably is not zoned for commercial.
I think you are vastly overstating the danger they pose to public safety in those circumstances.
Here are a couple of articles from a recent conviction of someone who was using a drone recklessly:
Even in that pretty extreme case (and literally the only one brought since 2015), there was no slicing of throats and limbs. There was a concussion and bruising.
As noted in the Geekwire article and my previous comment, operating drones near actual flight paths and landmarks is dumb, dumb, dumb, and those are worth being reported.
I ain't gonna waste my time reporting others, even if it is illegal, because unless they start concussing people more often than once every couple years, it's a danger worth worrying about on the same level as a cougar attack in Volunteer Park.
Meanwhile the house version would basically kill graduate education in America as we know it.
One study shows it takes about 23 minutes to get back on track: https://www.ics.uci.edu/~gmark/chi08-mark.pdf
> Here’s what study lead Gloria Mark told Fast Company of the findings: "You have to completely shift your thinking, it takes you a while to get into it and it takes you a while to get back and remember where you were...We found about 82 percent of all interrupted work is resumed on the same day. But here’s the bad news — it takes an average of 23 minutes and 15 seconds to get back to the task."

Thanks to everyone for checking out the site, I never would have imagined this kind of attention! I’ll be trying to keep a closer eye on the comments now that everything is more stable.

Because while they are wearing masks, and doing things against the rules, they also aren't exactly what everyone thinks about when they think of anarchist. George Takei has a "Now This" video that has the group's name as "Portland Anarchist Road Care."
The Merriam-Webster definition is "a person who rebels against any authority, established order, or ruling power" and "a person who believes in, advocates, or promotes anarchism or anarchy; especially : one who uses violent means to overthrow the established order."
On the one hand yes, they are rebelling in that they aren't waiting for the city to get around to doing things. But they also aren't really denying the government's authority so much as they're just tired of waiting and taking care of things themselves and correcting a state of political disorder that has been caused by a stressing of overtaxing of resources rather than creating political disorder. They certainly aren't resorting to violence and destruction typically associated with anarchists.

First, this is the The King County Office of Equity and Social Justice calendar, not The King County calendar. That's why the holidays named under the month titles are so "woke".
Second, nobody "removed" Christmas. Christmas just fell on a weekend this year. The calendar is for KC employees, and the dots are for employee holidays.
Third, Easter and Hanukkah were never on the calendar in the first place, as those are not employee holidays.

Our state's latest flu report (Dec 18-24) indicate the H3N2 prevalence in typed samples.
Some variant of H3N2 has been included in the standard trivalent vaccine for the past several years and, even if there is mutation among strains, the innate immune system having been exposed to an H3N2 gives some fighting ability as the adaptive immune system gears up to fight the flu you get exposed to.
Costco is $14.99 for the flu shot and there is a consent form you can dl and fill out ahead of time.
Do you need help getting off, OP? I offer many services on Amazon which may assist with your adventure. Since you're interested in learning about politics, you should consider my best selling (but slightly outdated) onanistic classic Hard for Hillary.
Cool. Although I would like more supermarkets to sell their off/pull produce (I always figured that was how Rising Sun got much of their stock).
If you have the time, the Just Eat It: A food waste story documentary on Amazon is pretty entertaining. It got me fired up about finding a "gleaning" program. I guess blackberries along the sidewalk counts, kind of.
I've joined the cast iron skillet cult.
Cast iron cookware has come up in a few cookbooks I own, so I read up a bit. When I saw that you could get the non-silicone handle 10 1/4" Lodge skillet marked down to 14 bucks on Amazon, I took the plunge. apparently Lodge is the only made-in-USA cast iron cookware maker left.
Anyways, I'm into it. I like the idea of, instead of it being something like average nonstick pans, which invariably eventually get kinda shitty and get tossed, this is supposed to be something that actually cooks better and better with time if you take care of it. Also, I just like how heavy and rough and burly it is, and that you can use metal implements on it without fear. It just feels like a neat part of cooking history to be connected with. I donated like half of my other pans, so I've got some extra cabinet space too, which is nice.
Plus you can throw it on the grill or in the oven.
Do you do cast iron cooking? What your favorite thing to cook in yr skillet?
Okay so I used https://www.wunderground.com/history/monthly/us/wa/seattle/KSEA/date/2020-4 and did the math after searching for days 78 or higher for seattle, in 2020, with the assumption that 78 degrees is the point people start turning on their AC.
Those days, so far, were:
(5 days) May 8,79° May 9,86° May 10,87° May 28,81° May 29,79°
(6 days) Jun 19, 79° Jun 22, 80° Jun 23, 83° Jun 24, 78° Jun 25, 80° Jun 26, 80°
(12 days) July 14, 81° Jul 15, 83° Jul 18, 79° Jul 19, 84° Jul 20, 87° Jul 21, 80° Jul 26, 88° Jul 27, 93° Jul 28, 81° Jul 29, 85° Jul 30, 90° Jul 31, 83°
(7 days) Aug 4, 82° Aug 5, 80° Aug 10, 81° Aug 14, 81° Aug 15, 88° Aug 16, 97° Aug 17, 87°

Cities are hotter than rural areas. Shouldn't be a surprise that covering surfaces with concrete and asphalt, and removing mature landscaping makes it hotter.
Siting new construction makes a difference.

Tolmie Peak is one of my favorites has a beautiful view of Mount Rainier. It's a little buggy, but the wildflowers this time last year were insanely beautiful. You can opt to climb to the top where the fire lookout is, or just to Lake Eunice with all the flower fields. There's quite a bit more gain than your two, but taking your time may even be worth it for how stunning it is.
Sorry for your loss, OP.
There have been multiple gender wage gap bake sales that are on the same principle. This is not a new protest idea, it's been used by different organizations to highlight different goals.

>This is not really true. 99% of them are hosted by right leaning college groups which are almost exclusively populated by upper middle class white folk (though I'm sure plenty of white women are involved as well)
Damn YT's really should stay in their lane and stop doing peaceful protests around their beliefs.
In other news, Obama has now permitted the NSA to share its vast trove of warrantless wiretap surveillance with the FBI, DEA, etc etc.
Thanks Obama.
what about an airbnb in the san juans? You can get a waterfront house for that price this time of year for example: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/11282697?checkin=04%2F02%2F2017&checkout=04%2F06%2F2017&guests=2&adults=2&children=0&infants=0&s=crQKLVFt
Or
Seattle's 10 day forecast includes consistently westerly winds, cooler weather, and a couple of days of rain. As long as the westerly winds continue, I would guess that we should be good on smoke in the Seattle area.

Caveat being of course that forecasts longer than a couple of days can be inaccurate.
Apparently this was a DJI Inspire I according to this Geekwire article
>The drone, which was identified as a DJI Inspire 1, suffered significant damage in the crash. A web search of the item shows a quadcopter version with 4K camera that sells for $1,699.
Hey, also: so can everyone please sign up for Waze Carpool?
You get to use the carpool lanes, you get a little spare cash, and I get a ride home now and then that’s cheaper than Uber or Lyft, plus you get my charming and sparkling conversation on the way home! :)
Pepper spray might be easier to use and more debilitating on average than a taser/stun gun, but I'm no expert. Everyone's needs and skills are different. I'm a big guy and I've taken to carrying a small thing of pepper spray in my pocket: https://www.amazon.com/SABRE-RED-Pepper-Gel-Spray/dp/B002E6RERU/ref=sr_1_8?dchild=1&keywords=pepper+spray&qid=1620765699&sr=8-8
Besides that, I've also heard people more knowledgable than myself recommend situational awareness, conflict avoidance, de-escalation courses.
I guess you can also get a CPL appointment set up ASAP, even if it's a few months out. May as well get the ball rolling, especially if you already have training from your time in the military.
Stay safe out there!

It's cheap and highly effective. Probably the best defense you can carry besides a gun and obviously better in many scenarios. For $8/ea it's cheap enough to pick up two and occasionally practice with one so you're familiar with the stream and how to quickly use it.
I'm a decent sized guy who works out but I still tend to slip it in my pocket when I'm headed out. So many lunatics and dangerous people in Seattle anymore, there's no reason not to carry it. So far I've only had to use it once when some slobbering vagrant was swinging a 2x4 at me and my wife, but I can confirm it'll burn through the meth haze on even a serious junkie.
Dude sounded like a walrus trying to cough up a greasy penguin lol
We're nowhere near AI are we? Have you seen how Amazon automatically sorts product categories? "The House of Government: A Saga of the Russian Revolution" on Amazon is listed as the top selling book in Moscow Travel Guides. I see these kind of screwups daily.

Much as I hate to discourage - in any way - someone's attempt toe create useful (or fun) apps, and as someone with COPD, your app sounds useful but... I've been using the BreezoMeter app for several years and it does this for me and more. Although I do think that little elephant is getting really tired here in Seattle lately.
Might be time to dust off the old autohotkey script. ImageSearch to get the screen coords of the matching username (can be a pool of many), then imagesearch area to the left of that to find down arrow coordinate, mousemove to that position, click, repeat.
Asbestos isn't flammable, explosive, chemically reactive, or toxic. Ingestion or contact exposure to small amounts is unlikely to cause harm but breathing large amounts regularly is what causes mesothelioma. Unfortunately a lot of people got fucked up by asbestos because of poor industrial hygiene practice in the past (not wearing dust masks at all let alone properly fitted particulate resporators) but proper PPE and procedures for working with asbestos aren't that complicated. It's currently considered best practice to encapsulate installed asbestos rather than remove it under many circumstances because it's so safe as long as it doesn't become airborne.
This is a pretty standard "hey I'm coming to Seattle post" that reads to us like "hey can you do my homework for me?" so don't be surprised if you get downvoted a bunch.
TripAdvisor and WikiTravel are great resources. Also the FAQ here and in /r/Seattle, plus search for old posts on specific topics.
Olympic NP is harder to get to from Seattle. You can do a day trip to Hurricane Ridge and maybe hike a bit there (check snow levels, you don't say how soon you're coming) but you'll spend a lot of time on ferries and driving uninteresting parts. Roads mostly go around the park, not through the park. Driving around is at least a 2-day affair.
You can "do" Rainier in a day, going to either Paradise (main visitor center) or Sunrise (east side) and hiking there, or you can drive around in a day. It's a pretty nice drive. Again, for hikes be sure to check snow levels where you're planning to go. There's a Ranger desk in the downtown REI store that's a great place to ask for advice and get current status. Also, wta.org will have recent trip reports.
Lodging is expensive in Seattle. Budget options are bland hotels around the airport (which puts you a ~40 min train ride from downtown) or AirBnB in the city (look for bus lines/RapidRide into the city).
ZipCars have to be returned where you got them. I would use Car2Go + ReachNow + Lyft. (Actually, that's what I do use myself. :) )
seems rattus doesn't seem to know what a personal attack is but RES remarks really rustle his jimmies. here's a link to RES
maybe he can use RES to ignore things he doesn't like, instead of lashing out at ideas he doesn't like
meanwhile here's an example of a personal attack where rattus literally called another user retarded and then used the mod challenge to justify it lol
> 22 y/o kids making $90k have not reshaped the entire northwestern RE market
I don't think you have the slightest clue how much the techies are making here, especial by the time they're 27 and up, and how many of them are being brought into our region. You would also be surprised to find out how much money they're making in stock grants annually and how that is actually more than their salary by the time they're 30. Amazons highest paid person for 2016 had a salary of $175,000 for the year but his stock grants were worth $54 million. And before you start saying the 27 year old workers are not earning that much, I want to point out that salary at Amazon caps around $175k, they give stock grants to their beginning programmers and most will be earning in the middle $250k in total by the time their 27 years old; but yes, you are correct that the 27 year olds are not earning $54 million. There are a lot of these people and Amazon, Google, FaceBook, et. al. cannot hire fast enough. Vulcan is unable to build the buildings fast enough because of a nation wide tower crane shortage due to Seattle. There are new Facebook, Google and Amazon buildings waiting to be built all over downtown Seattle and they're renting spaces all over to have enough space for people earning this kind of money. Right now people are relocating from California that earning more to come here and by a cheaper house while earning more than the 27 year olds. Go down to south lake union and start counting new building built within the last five years. It's crazy, and they're all physician income without the med. school debt.
In case anyone suggests the bullshit local honey myth;

I would bring your laptop to FriendlyEarth in SODO. They will properly wipe your data, and destroy the hard drive and you can watch them do it too. It's also caught on camera too as a double.
You can run https://dban.org yourself to wipe your data prior to, but they will use it too; the most important part of what FriendlyEarth does is actually blast the hard drive with an EMP. It sounds like a gun going off.
I don't advocate piracy, because that would be wrong, very wrong.
But if I did, I might look at getting a cheap VPN like Private Internet Access and checking out some sketchy ass websites like nflbite.com and sportsurge.net
It's Washington state. We have self-defense laws. Use them if you are threatened.
Then talk to Walgreens and get him 85'd. You're from Philly and don't know how to handle people?

Here are some tips on how to help prevent home delivery package theft: http://www.consumerreports.org/holiday-shopping/how-to-avoid-holiday-package-theft-at-home/ On top of those suggestions, there are also the options to have the package sent to your place of work or to a friend of family member's house if they will be home to receive it.
As usual, reddit admins don't do shit unless there's bad press coverage.
You can’t offer to murder cops on Reddit unless you’re on r/TheDonald may have had something to do with it.
I don't have any recommendations, but I frequently see Costco's magazine slip in random "buckets" so there might be something here:

A kit like this even includes cooking tools, if you wanted to stock something at work. http://www.costco.com/Food%2c-Fire%2c-Filter-72-hour-Emergency-Supply-By-Food-For-Health-76-Total-Servings-of-Food-%2526-Beverage.product.100017853.html
Fun fact: Nantes, France has almost the exact same temperature profile as Seattle year-round (source). Seattle apparently gets a bit more rain, though.
Not sure if this helps, but thought that it was relevant.
It will be interesting. I wouldn't have expected something like this to come from the Trump administration, but urban planning types dislike the higher limit because it helps high earners far more than the middle class.
There's also an argument to be made about whether the government should really incentivize homeownership in the first place.
Where do these guys advertise upcoming hackathons? I was looking for upcoming hackathons a couple weeks ago for Seattle area hackathons to see if any were interesting enough to sign up for. I checked eventbrite and meetup and never saw anything about this one...curious where people are advertising em. I've won 2 this year out of 3 I entered and had a fucking blast. Won one of these categories a few weeks ago: http://www.geekwire.com/2016/meet-winners-seattles-biggest-ever-vr-hackathon/
So many Grinches this time of year. I think we could all use some tasty hot cocoa and maybe some Mexi-Fries to boost our spirits and help our troll friends grow their hearts a little.
Although, one's heart growing a full 3 sizes is actually rather life-threatening.

Install RES; Reddit Enhancement Suite.
Spend a little time getting used to its features, there's a lot
