I've been using it so long, I can't remember how I found out about it. I love the customization options, HSL or RGB with opacity, a charging indicator, big and easy to read percentage... it's great!

I use Battery Widget Reborn.
The only other widgets I use are the ones for Pocket Casts, Play Music, and Calendar.
Not sure, perhaps this is a bug in Nougat? Seeing the same results on my Nexus 6P regardless of System Tuner setting.
As an alternative, I use Battery Widget Reborn on my phone which gives a customizable status bar indicator and detailed battery usage graph in the notification pull down. There's a free version which you can try first.

Here's a screenshot. I have a rooted S4, so I used Wanam Exposed to disable the stock battery indicator.
