I do. A lot of it has to do with PTSD from drug induced psychosis. I sometimes get flashbacks and I'm scared I'll go overboard but without the help of a drug.
I don't know if you use any phone apps, but I use this one app called Booster Buddy that really helps me when I start panicking https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.viha.boosterbuddy&hl=en I find it very resourceful and I find the little mascots cute. Hope you're doing well :>
There might be community groups that can help? I know Australia has a organisation called Headspace. I've only used their website tho....
If it's any help, try to do just a little bit of research each day. I know it's hard, but do what you can.
Also, I found when I was my lowest, i used an app called Booster Buddy (on the google play store) . It's got cute animals and a sense of accomplishment that I find really good when I feel fragile.
This pupper was saved from animal abuse and recently saved the live of a 3 year old girl.
Do you have a favorite type of music? Listening to music always makes me feel better. I'm obsessed with this song right now. Not sure if it's your thing and here's a thread on /r/socialism about bands who create works about socialism.
Old men in Mongolia hunt with eagles they raised and treat them as though they are their children.
Here are some children eating Lenin in cake form.
Here is a list of socialist meetup groups, mostly in the USA and UK.
Here is a website that can help you find places to do volunteer work, which can help reduce feelings of isolation, worthlessness, and low self esteem.
Tinnitus is common with partial hearing loss. So, it might be or become relevant. Multiple causes can also work together to cause symptoms.
I am sorry to hear that you don't have proper support for your mental health, and I hope you are able to get it later. A plushie is a very common grounding/comfort tool. You can build yourself a self-care box to have on hand and to bring during difficult situations. This site has some ideas. If you have access to a library/library card, you can check out workbooks and books that are similar to therapy. (Just make sure the book is written by a real mental health professional and is recommended by practicing therapists.) Self-compassion by Kristin Neff is the first one that comes to mind. One tip in that book is that you can hug yourself (especially if you don't have people giving you the compassion/comfort you need). Your body doesn't really care that the hug is coming from you; the hug is still comforting and calming.
A lot of therapy is just learning terminology and how to verbalize how you feel/ what happened. If you are able to go on Instagram, there quite a few therapists that share tips and terms. Here are a few (it's easy to find more since they all follow each other): one two three Most of the stuff on Instagram is just positive messages and reminders (that can be surprisingly insightful), but it might be good for you to have constant reminders that your trauma is real and your feelings are valid. You deserve to have caretakers that take your mental health seriously.
I am glad that the learning the term grounding will help you find more resources. If you want to try breathing exercises again or meditation, you can use an app like MyLife by Stop, Breathe, & Think. Breathing exercises are common grounding techniques as well... But trust in your own experience and body. If you know that doing x will make you feel bad, there's no reason to do it. (You can also try again but stop when there's discomfort.) I am think meditation is a deeply beneficial tool and it helps me a lot, but it can also kind of lead me into a panic attack depending on the headspace I am in. You want to have multiple coping strategies since it's unlikely the same strategy will help you in every situation.
You're welcome, and I do hope some of this advice helps you. I am trying not to dump an overwhelming amount of information on you, but that's a bit hard. You can download an AI app like Booster Buddy for more ideas and help. I hope tomorrow goes well for you.
