look for button savior apps like this one: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.smart.swkey.nonroot
i used this one for a while when my buttons didn't work, it's great ..it's basically an app that puts buttons like home, back, tabs etc on your screen... this is one of the few that doesn't require root and it's actually pretty handy
I've used it once or twice on my PC. I really like Android on ereaders, but be aware that the interface can be "tricky" because most apps don't design for e-ink's "peculiarities" in mind. Touches tend to lag a little because e-ink re-draws screens slower. Some e-ink devices need some help from apps like Button Savior, but just about all readers can be made to run some version of Android apps if you want to jump through some hoops.
There aren't very many that give you direct access to Google Play Store and all it's apps, but there are workarounds. Amazon even will give you "curated" access on some of the Kindles. You can "root" many of the Kobos, Nooks, and Kindles to get more access.
If you want a good reader with Google Play installed already, I like these.
There are some apps like Button Savior which may be able to help you at least still use the phone.
There is also a root version which is more powerful.
Originally a while ago I use to use Button Savoir they have 2 versionsOne without Root and one for Rooted Phones Now the custom rom I use comes with a PIE type Menu I feel the PIE type is easier. It should get you through till your screen gets fixed.
You can use this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.smart.swkey.nonroot&hl=en
Sound's like a software thing which can mostly be fixed with a restart. Charge your phone to 50% before restarting.
If you have a Nokia 6 (2018) or Nokia 6.1 go to Settings -> Accessibility -> Turn on Accessibility Menu and use that for restarting. (https://support.google.com/accessibility/android/answer/9078941?hl=en)
If you have a Nokia 6 (2017) download some app which can emulate the clicking of the button like Button Savior Non Root (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.smart.swkey.nonroot) and restart using that.
(If this doesn't work, idk what will.)
Button Savior was a recommended app in the Nook Color days. Works well.

Try Button Savior. It looks like this has a power reset option.
Found what I used before: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.smart.swkey.nonroot
Still the best or are there any alternatives with a more modern look?
Button Savior Non Root looks good, it works on my phone. Be sure to hold the on screen button

Otherwise... if you have developer mode enabled and adb installed on your machine adb shell reboot -p
