I rely on my own countdown on my phone these days. It's just called Countdown on the Play Store.

There are a few different sizes and styles for the home menu widgets. I liked the red circles one because it matches my red Monster Hunter background nicely. I always have a countdown for something on my phone, so having it match is pretty important to me. Took me a while to find one I liked!

It's got a nice simple widget (ignore the ugly icons) and you get notifications when countdowns end.
