I think if anyone in any subreddit posts about an app, they should absolutely provide a link to it in the app store. That's just a common courtesy for the lazy.

More like companies aren't submitting for certification.
Daydream and Cardboard use the same backend software, VRCore (aka Google VR Services. The only difference between a Daydream and Cardboard device is more or less a software setting that's enabled if the device meets the Daydream spec. None of which is based on any special hardware.
The only reason devices don't come out is because the companies making the phone don't want it (or care if its) certified.
When you built in Unity did you use any other packages? Specifically the GoogleVR package?
While Unity does have a stereoscopic VR rendering option built in, I don't believe there is any native sensor events trying it to the camera. So the app doesn't know if you are looking around.
The Google VR SDK gets 3DoF information from VRCore (the Google VR Services) package that you install, if you install Google Cardboard. So with the Google VR SDK you just have to drop in the prefabs or modify the default scene camera so its tracks to the phones movements.
What we want ? ArCore support ! How ? Flood /comment on Google VR services with negative review Where ? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.vr.vrcore
Show them you have more popular Essential Phone than Razer etc Please reply , forward ,share ,upvote
That's gyroscope drift. Normal in many phones, sadly. Try keeping your phone flat on a table for about half a minute after starting a VR app. With the Cardboard SDK, that triggers an automatic calibration that can help a little (only during that one run).
Some phones also have a calibration procedure hidden under some "secret code", but while Google is finding one for the Meizu M2, I see none for the M3.
Getting Android 7 and upgrading to Google VR Services instead of Cardboard, and telling it to make apps use its SDK in the Google VR developer settings you can access by tapping the build number several times might also help since Daydream-related stuff is meant to be smarter about drifting (which does, however, still get reported even by Daydream users).
Make sure you've installed VR services: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.vr.vrcore
And also cardboard: https://arvr.google.com/cardboard/apps/
If the QR code still can't br scanned, try to change display settings manually. That's what I did because my QR code wasnt working too.
You can also try to Google for the QR code of similar headsets and try to scan the picture of the QR codes.
Phone VR gaming isn't a great experience really; I'd say load up some 360 VR videos on YouTube (or another site, like maybe a "hub" of some sort...) and enjoy that sort of content, if PhoneVR games make you feel sick.
You may need to install Google VR Services and Daydream before your daydream will work properly.
Do you have VR services installed?
If I understand your problem correctly, you've scanned the custom QR code in your Cardboard app, but Chrome is still showing the old-style double vision? And Cardboard app works fine now?
No, you don't have to install the Daydream app; you need to install any VR app you want to use (obviously), and the Google VR Services should be installed.
Low-persistence mode isn't part of them, though: it's implemented (or, in this case, it isn't) at the system level, and backed by hardware.
Google mentioned in Google I/O 2017 that the S8 and S8+ will get Daydream VR support. This might be it! Unfortunately I don't have a Daydream headset to try out.. the package is here for anyone interested: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.vr.vrcore
I'm pretty sure they will, considering all the Daydream headset has is an NFC, which should be easily copyable... but they say Daydream won't work without their controller, which is only sold together with the headset at this point.
Are you quite sure there will be an "Android UI" in VR, anyway? All I know so far is that if you get Google VR Services and honestly I had hoped this would be part of AOSP, not a proprietary app.
So you have Nougat Beta and a Daydream View?
Here, download this first: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.vr.vrcore
Tell me how it goes, does Daydream work with the S7 on Nougat Beta!

Try ensuring that you have Google VR services installed and that it is up to date. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.vr.vrcore
Make sure Google VR services is installed
I've done this, you need the controller though (but you can use a different headset, I just tried it). Maybe you can use another phone as the controller, idk how that works. You're gonna have to install 4 apps

The screen tears a bit when you look around in youtube and street view (reminds me of the feeling of opening my eyes under water).
