You need three things.
First, you need a calendar app, which you already have with every smartphone - Google's calendar app works fine.
You'll probably also want a to-do list app. Right now, I'm using GTasks, which you can install from https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.dayup.gtask
Finally, you need the widget, Pure Calendar Widget, from here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.koxx.pure_calendar&hl=en
First, make sure Google Calendar and Gtasks are working, and you've got your calendar and to-do lists working.
After that, you just set up the Pure Calendar Widget. Go to your home screen, then long-tap (hold your finger on the screen) to bring up the home screen options. You should see a "Widgets" icon on the bottom. Tap on it, and scroll through the available widgets, until you find "Pure Calendar widget. Select your widget size of choice. After that, you'll get the widget on the screen. You should have a gears icon on the widget that you can then use to set up how it displays your calendar items and to-dos. There's a million options to choose from to set up how it looks, and how it displays your stuff, so spend some time playing with the options until it looks good and works for you.
Gtasks is my single favorite Android App.
You can add a checklist widget to your home screen, and it syncs to PC through Google Tasks. You can create new tasks by saying "note to self..." in Google Now.
I use GTasks (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.dayup.gtask) and if you pay $5 it should sync with Google Tasks. I don't need/want this so I don't use it, but I love this task app. Has all the options I'd want. Worth a try (free version) and a one-time fee of $5 to sync ain't bad.
Been using GTasks for a while now and I love it. It has all the requirements you are looking for and doesn't require a subscription like many newer apps.

A major reason I stick with it (besides it just working well for me) is that I can have the tasks show up in Pure Calendar Widget so I can have all my calendar items and todo items in the same scrollable widget. (It has it's own widget, but I prefer this and having 1 widget for calendar and tasks is just great for me).

GTasks: Todo List & Task List - From same developer but lists the calendar integration in free version
Tasks - minimal google tasks app(not from google). Only 1 time payment. Integrates seamlessly with google's task chrome extension. There is a free version with ads.
Google Tasks + GTasks (android).
I like GTasks for Android, it is a pretty simple app that syncs with one's Gmail tasks pane, basic and functional, that does it for me.

If you want Android widgets for Google Tasks, you're looking for the excellent, unofficial GTasks: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.dayup.gtask
Additionally, if you want a full screen, more powerful interface for Google Tasks, I built one of those: https://tasks.gtaskd.com/
Sorry for the super slow reply...rarely in reddit. No plans for an Android app with widgets, but I'd highly recommend the unofficial GTasks: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.dayup.gtask . I've used it for close to a decade and it's got great widgets.
There's been a few questions on this all over the internet. If just having a widget is important, GTasks give you the option, but imo looks shit.
Haven't found what I've been looking for yet. Hopefully someone implements something
Happy to. Moving (and/or cloning) a subtree of tasks is already done. On the mobile app, it'll sync with everything else, so for now I'd recommend the unofficial GTasks app on Android that I've been using for years: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.dayup.gtask
Not sure if I'll ever build a separate native phone app, but in the future I'll at least make a more mobile-friendly web version. For now and focused on the desktop version before canvas dies.
I've been using Gtasks for years. Not only it is reliable and a simple ToDo app (wish plenty of options if you want them), it syncs with Google Tasks, and displays my tasks on my favorite Widget (Pure Calendar Widget) so I can see upcoming tasks with my calendar events. Great combo imho.

That being said my favorite before it died was Astrid and there is an Astrid clone in the Play Store that might be worth a look (open source version). Probably would use this if it would display on my widget.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.tasks&hl=en_US
*edit Ok just noticed the Astrid clone should also work with the Pure Calendar Widget so I'm definitely going to give it a go.
Gtastks has served me well ever since Astrid died. All the features I personally could need and it syncs with your Google Tasks.
There are some other nice apps, but they are all switching to being subsciption services it seems. Basically, I keep my real Todo in a text file on Dropbox. I use GTasks to remind me of things on that list, things I need to add to the list, and recurring items.
I actually just found this app today, but it's called GTasks and it syncs with your Google Tasks and it has notifications, due dates, places for extra notes, and other cool little customizations.
It also has Material Design just to keep with it being awesome already. Feel free to give it a try.

Liste.
Npr.
Od ovoga nisam stigao na kafu danas. Dakle, meni radi.
Možeš standardni pristup, olovka i papir.
Malo sam čačkao i našao elegantno riješenje.
Sve to u praksi izgleda ovako.
To-do list: Gtasks is a simplistic yet capable one. It also syncs with google tasks.
Taking notes: Google keep is probably the best one for taking quick notes, and OneNote for fully-featured note taking app.
Calendar: Sunrise is aesthetically appealing and very straightforward.
Office suite: WPS no competition here.
Timetable: Timetable is the one I personally use. It silences your mobile during lectures and displays your schedule in a clean UI (also syncs with your Google account).
Education: Since English is my second language,I use Dictionary.com to look up various definitions. WolframAlpha for mathematical problems (also scientific definitions and problems). Ankidroid is my personal favorite flashcards app.
There are just 2 apps I'd like to recommend this week:
- GTasks [free ads/$5 no ads], integrates with Google Tasks, which means you can easily use it on your desktop and it's better than Google Keep IMO.
- Today Calendar [free ads/$5 no ads], beautiful calendar app with beautiful widgets. It's also blazing fast.
These apps keep me on track and organised as someone who is normally exceedingly disorganised.
Is this better than GTasks? That's what I use.
I like GTasks. It sync to multiple Google accounts, so my wife and I can share a grocery list, for example.
As requested: GTasks
For the lazy :)
gtasks is great. It syncs with google tasks on your regular gmail account so you can update todo lists on your computer or on your mobile. That was a huge plus for me but even if you don't use google tasks, the interface is very clean and allows you to quick add a new task with a minimum of effort. You can use multiple task lists but I just use one.
I only use it on android but it also has an iphone version. The android version syncs well with google tasks so my todo list stays up to date on all devices.

You can use this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.dayup.gtask then. It has those 2 options.
That one.

Sorry about the naming confusion, but it's not my fault :)
As an alternative, i have used gTasks from same developer of ticktick, works flawlessly.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.dayup.gtask
Yeah, I'd use this if it had a widget, but looks like I'm stuck with gTasks for now.
I've been using gtasks for ages. And it works perfectly for my needs. Sounds like what you are looking for. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.dayup.gtask
I use GTasks - has enough options to do what I need, but not so much that it's trying to run my life. Syncs with Google Tasks. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.dayup.gtask
GTasks links to your Google account.
Protip GTasks handles large volume and is enabled in gmail. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.dayup.gtask
