Hue Pro is a much better app. It does exactly what you need from Hue, plus it has a music and lava lamp mode which is pretty cool. Also, if you restore Hue Pro from a backup, it'll remember it's connection to the bridge, unlike the official app which requires you to manually reconnect.
The app you're looking for is Hue Pro. The included widget can have any number of presets, and each can be set as a "toggle" -- first press lights on, next press lights off.
I've done exactly this in my house. The app you're looking for is Hue Pro: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.benchevoor.huepro
You can create unlimited presets and put them on your home screen via widget. I have morning / afternoon / evening / all off / last one to leave / movies / sexy lighting / etc
Hue Pro. A no cost solution might be using Hue Labs's Living Scenes
iPhones can only use NFC for Apple Pay. On Android, you can use Hue Pro (great app), there is an add-on for it, Hue Pro Tasker, that lets you use NFC. Also, I don't think it actually requires tasker.
The left slide out is the edge panel and that particular one is called Control Center.
The widgets you see on the top right are the basic Sonos widget and then the widget for the Hue pro app.
All my widgets are a bit broken since my wifi keeps randomly disconnecting and not auto reconnecting but I'd imagine they'd all work seamlessly if wifi didn't kick out.
I use HuePro (on Android for sure, I don't know about iOS) for these things. It allows you to create groups, presets, control individual bulbs, integrates with HueProTasker that allows triggers, even has a rainbow mode and a Lava Lamp mode.

What happens when you say, "Alexa, cave on"? That should work. The word "lights" might be problematic and she may be looking for a device called cave (as opposed to a group).
Diagnostic questions: This Hue LED Starter Kit with 2 Bulbs & Hue Bridge Hub? If you're on Android, did you check your bulb setup on the alternative Hue Pro app (which is better than the official app)? What are your individual bulbs named? From what I've seen, it's generally best to avoid using the words "room" or "light" in individual bulb names or group names.
Hue Pro for Android is the only one I really use. Simple, intuitive interface with lots of customization ability for presets. Also, the Lava Lamp and Music Mode features are pretty cool.

Those are the only two I use but I rarely set the colors manually. I use my home automation hub to very slowly cycle between colors for the outside lights depending on the holiday, and set the interior lights based on weather.
I live in an apartment, so unfortunately I can't do any proper wire hiding in the walls to keep it powered. Cable management was my only option. I may opt for a wire-hider, I've yet to decide on that.
The dashboard was built using Widgets from the following Android apps:
Hue Pro: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.benchevoor.huepro&hl=en
Default Sonos App: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sonos.acr&hl=en
Nuvue: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.immersiondesignstudio.nuvue&hl=en
Nest: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nest.android&hl=en
Hue Pro is also a great one for Android. Has Tasker integration as well.
Launcher: Nova
Other than a widget from HuePro and the folder at the center bottom, the rest are done using KLWP. Picture will change depending on music cover art, and would default to a horizontal wallpaper if no music are playing.
Top right corner is a shortcut to a Snackbar Tasker Plugin that I use in conjunction with Tasker to set different sound profile.
Clicking on Headphone would open Spotify and clicking on the Sleeping icon would start a predefined Sleep Timer
