Not a programmer so have to have a fair amount of trust in others programming skills. Been using Torguard for quite a while, as far as I can ascertain their fairly trust worthy, well as trust worthy as any company can be. Hasn't TOR been compromised, at least a fair amount of the nodes were.
I now found the app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.reactle.ringandnotificationvolumesync, which works OK so far Deactivated the notification so that I don't have to see It all the time But somehow i don't want an app to be in the background all the time
I use this app: Stay Awake
when I want the screen to stay on for an activity that normally would time out the screen.
I made a toggle/button for it in the quick settings panel, super convenient!
If helpful, I downloaded this the other day, then bought it. It's helped me bebop between text sizes throughout the day. It's a little faster than hitting settings all the time. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.a0soft.gphone.bfont
My opinion is the Fold wins in the real estate competition, but the S22U compensates in other ways.
My use case is rather boring. I'm in my home mostly, so I bebop between devices based on what furniture/posture I'll have, lighting, whether my pets are around to knock the expensive toys over, frequency of picking up and putting down, longevity of holding the device ... all those dinky logistical variables come into play for me. Also, I have some mobility issues (Ex: fingers/hand/arm goes numb, and I fumble items more than I like)
Some other random tidbits:
At the end of the day, the devices are great. There's tons of Fold vs S22U out there, and they are spot on with many points, showing side by sides, etc.
You can use Theme Park via Good lock. However, note that for most icon packs, a lot of your icons will come out blank. A solution I've found for this is to run the downloaded icon pack through another app called Icon Pack Studios to "create" an icon pack and then use that created icon pack with theme park.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ginlemon.iconpackstudio
I also use this app to create transparent images. You can try it. Pretty cool with a lot of adjustments. I use it to make my custom icons from various images.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=photoeditor.cutout.backgrounderaser
I'm not sure I can recommend the right app till I've seen the feature you are speaking of in action.
I don't remember seeing this particular notification, but with any unnecessarily persistent notification, I use AutoNotification.
June update disabled access to that menu for many carriers. There used to be a band selector app in the play store, but the update disabled that also.
Alliance Shield is an MDM that used to allow you to disable 5G, but they had their Samsung Knox license revoked specifically for allowing 5G to be disabled. I've been waiting in their discord for over a month on an update, as they are testing a possible fix... This is unfortunately the closest solution that in aware of currently.
Podsbattery works great! I love it, even bought the pro version to support the developers. Trust me, it's the among the best, if not the best one out there.
I use this one: Stay AwakeI put it on a tile in my notification bar, super convenient.
I used Caffeinate on my previous device, but it didn't work on my S22U for some reason.
Usually when my screen turns off too fast it is because the area with the proximity sensor is dirty. This triggers the phone to think it is in a pocket. Otherwise I use the kinscreen app to give me more control of screen on/off settings. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teqtic.kinscreen
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.duckduckgo.mobile.android
Very interesting, up to 3000 attempts from reddit to get these items, wonder if this drains the battery, apps on your phone is constantly being pinged. Problem is if you block anything, you will get no notifications, or the app stops responding. I think having a app that blocks the other apps could cause other issues on your phone. The top apps on my phone are all data mining your info. Discord,Instagram, messenger, reddit.
You can swipe from edge (on any screen) and use the T9 keypad shown to easily search for apps/contacts. (like the phone dialer style). You can see certain apps there too, if you feel the need to quickly switch to those.
Hope it helps.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.samknows.fcc I HAD an issue where my speed was highly variable from 300mbps down to 30, SS tech support had me do a network reset then a factory reset, problem would come and go. After multiple resets I was ready to give up on the phone, one of the updates seems to have corrected the issue
The only equalizer I will ever use on my phone:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pittvandewitt.wavelet&hl=en_US&gl=US
Also using EqualizerAPO/Peace on my PC. They use the same data to calculate their EQ's.
Download Activity Launcher https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.szalkowski.activitylauncher
Searhch for highpower. There should be one activity under Settings, launch it. Google hid it, not Samsung, so one day it may disappear. Works fine in Android 12. In Android 13 also works, but has a glitch where it always says there are 0 unoptimised applications, even though the list is populated.
Because Galaxy S22 Ultra it's a big phone, I recommend my app, Quick Cursor: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.quickcursor
I'm a new S22 Ultra user, I have the device for about 2 weeks, and my Quick Cursor app helps me use the phone easier with one hand. I started the app when I had a Pixel 2 XL and then an OnePlus 8 Pro. All of my devices were big.

This is a very tedious method, but it works: 1. Go to the Play Store and find the app "Hidden Settings - Access Hidden Features." Here's a link to that. 2. In that app, find "Wi-Fi (Settings$WifiSettings)" or, if that doesn't work, "Wi-Fi (Settings$WifiSettings2)." This will open a menu that's available in stock Android, but hidden in One UI. 3. Tap the gear icon ⚙️ next to Verizon 4. Scroll to find "Preferred network type" and change it to either 4G or 3G, probably 4G
It doesn't completely disable 5G, but your phone will choose 4G over it. Settings will crash when you change this, but if you go back to the menu, it should change.
note that this might be a little different because I'm on the 5.0 beta, so just tap a bunch of things in that secret settings app and see what you can find, there's some interesting stuff in there
Ah, I see. I use Google Assistant A LOT, so the Google search has stayed on my device. I forgot to mention I do have Bixby still installed because I keep meaning to get into the Routines portion of it but it hasn't happened, yet.
I did my debloat mainly to free up space. If I'm not using it then I have no need for it to be on my device. You would have to download Samsung Messages since they use Google Messages now...
brb Google searching Torguard ;)
I guess I wasn't clear. By "removing Google" I meant the Google Search app, not completely blocking Google.
Meta/Facebook agree completely!
As far as debloating, you said what you did but not why to you did it. For example, Samsung Messages does offer some additional features. I'm really on the fence.
I'm using Visible/Verizon unlimited everything for $25 can't go wrong, my primary phone is T-Mobile. I'm using Torguard which works great and has port forwarding.
Every time I get a new phone, (sadly twice a year), I've been using LADB and Package Name to remove all of the bloatware. I usually get 1 carrier device and 1 direct from Samsung
LADB is pretty nice. It's ADB without the PC!
Np. I hope they get you all fixed up. Also when you get it back, you can check your seal for your water resistance with this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ray.waterresistancetester
Should be as good as when it came from the factory but just for peace of mind
There are some advantages to using both.
For example:
Pokemon go:
Samsung Store offers a discount on IAP all the time. I think 5%
Play store you can use play points for the $3 off. That can only be used through the Play store version.
I'm not sure how many other games are like this.
Also I get faster updates from the Samsung store.
I'll get ExpressVPN updates days before I will get it on the Play Store
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ray.samsungbandselection
Open the app Click on more network settings Click on Verizon Set preferred network to LTE On Verizon and this works for me
putting it in 2g is a common fix on tmo - the provisioning on your line is off/corrupted, but normally this problem happens on MVNOs like mint or similar. but can still happen.
download:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ray.samsungbandselection
use this app, go to More Network Settings -> click T-Mobile -> Preferred Network Type -> 2G
let it sit for a while, do a restart or two, then repeat the process and put it back in 5G.
I am going to be trying this one out:
OMYFILM Screen Protector for Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra [Anti-spy] Galaxy S22 Ultra Privacy Film [Shock-resistant] Screen Protector for Samsung S22 Ultra (1 Pack)
https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B0B38WVT1Y/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1
when it arrives.
Nah, otter box style. see here.
So far 7/10. Very clunky, but, waterproof on top of the IP.
I got this case from elago, and I found it to be fantastic. It's smooth all around, and in Oregon climate it's very grippy, but I do not know about other environments, which may be drier or more humid. There's an extended lip around the top and bottom, which gives it plenty of clearance for screen protectors, and don't have any issues using it with the amfilm screen protector. Would recommend both of them.
Someone over at xda india forum recommend this one

Check this application: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ray.waterresistancetester
If it passes, then the seal is good, and you indeed are supposed to be able to do that. I won't try on mine. If it fails then you may be able to ask for a replacement. Make sure the SIM tray is inserted.
I have developed Document Widget app just for this. Viewing PDF documents right on home screen, saving the last viewed page. It gives instant access to PDF documents.

i love this brand, terrific quality, never an issue using the s-pen. the magnet is on the strap that loops from the back and attaches to the front so no interference at all.
ive had one on my note 20 ultra and now with this phone too. actually have had several people complement and then buy bc of how much they liked it.
This is what I use for sound tuning, and my setting is here, mostly just a tweak of the low end:
Okay, thanks :)
I promise it's not difficult. I even found an easier app to do it with.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.newpower.apkmanager
Press "Trust app", turn on "APKShare," press back, search for Wallet, press Samsung Wallet, then Share File, then Drive
i also use Good Lock One Hand Operation, but since it's not available in your region, you could use Edge Gestures: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ss.edgegestures&hl=en_US&gl=US
i used to use this on my Pixels and it is very customizable for both sides of the phone.
i used to do drag and hold to "alt+tab" in between apps, but i think there's another option to just cycle through your apps one at a time as well.
can you just install the Good Lock One Hand apk manually and have it work?
Actually Samsung's own battery usage thing does not show everything. You need to install GSCAM BATTERY MONITOR

This app shows everything that wakes your CPU and SCREEN. Just follow the ADB steps. Perfectly safe, reliable and detailed app.

Sorry don't post often forgot link for it.
it's not as protective as the otterbox but take a look at the spigen thin fit in the green color. I have the burgundy S22U and don't really like the color so I got that spigen case in the green and it matches really close to my coworkers green S22U. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09T8GSK75?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
Just wanted to share some accessories I got for my S22U. The skin fits perfectly, and the edges have stuck down well. The camera protectors are seamless and should fit most cutouts; according to Amazon reviews it also works with UAG cases. Lastly I was impressed with the quality of these leather cases. Made in China, but the leather looks, feels, and smells genuine. I even treated it with some Obenauf's leather conditioner and it feels supple. I liked it so much that I bought a second one in black.
Of course it exists :D
AliExpress is your friend and original source of all of these. You will find more options there. (Or your AliExpress equivalent for your region)
Gonna have to send it to them for repair; not worth voiding the warranty to fix yourself. When you get it back, I'd recommend getting something like this. I've had it on mine since I saw someone break their lenses. Brings peace of mind.
F.
The shattered lens is your 1x, so that makes sense. Entire module will likely need to be replaced. I have this case which greatly helps prevent these things from happening. Good luck.
I bought this one:
I give it a solid 8/10.
I had the note 20 ultra before and I hated how the plastic screen protectors felt with the s pen.
If you are ready for the next level, add the ESR boost phone kickstand to the case ( don't go for the spigen one as it has magnets that interfere with the s pen)
This one
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08FB76B6Z?ref_=ast_sto_dp&th=1&psc=1
I got you covered. Those otter or uag coffins are a nightmare
Have a look at the elago Hybrid Clear Case for the s22 ultra
Looks fantastic and it is compatible with the Whitestone Dome Glass (the raised lips on the case may push up other screen protectors on the sides)
Have a look
I use the Samsung one. Mainly I put the GW4 on it but I have occasionally used it for the phone too. My TWE can't do wireless charging so can't use it for that.
There is a tiny (universal) USB device with a little screen on it which shows and actually graphs power inputs and outputs. You can use it to measure the actual volts and amps (I think amps?) from any USB power supply or device.
I am speculating here, it might have something to do with the fact that an S21U does not come with an S-Pen. I had the S21U for about a year, I do not remember whether I had it or not on my phone.

I got myself this case mostly because it has a kickstand that works both ways, but it's also useful to hold the phone in a way that doesn't stress my pinky. Another feature that made me pick this one is the raised edges around the camera lenses since my old s10's lens got smashed despite being in a case when I dropped it. I would've gone for one that has the little slide door for the lenses but none of them had the kickstand I like.

I rocked that Spigen case on my S21U for a while and it's great. On the S22U I ended up getting a similar Torras case because it was slightly transparent, making the green stand out quite nicely without it being a glossy-messy transparent case.
I've been using this charging stand. I can turn the phone to a horizontal position & magnet to phone is still strong.
No stick on stand to the case though. There "might be room. Never checked though. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09KZT8LW4/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_2GFQX62FMZS280SY6RGM?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Charges my Samsung Buds & Airpod Pros too.
I'm really liking the MagSafe Options out there too but I got this Ringke Case and this Spigen Ring Adapter instead of a case with built-in Ring.
I'm a big fan of Ringke Fusion-X cases as they have truly shown to be great protection for various phones over the years.
There are tons of MagSafe accessories and options on Amazon and elsewhere. I previously used the Xvida magetic case and charging accessories but they are limited in what they offer plus being pretty expensive.
Do you find that this clear case is pretty protective?
Yes, I do look for magsafe, which like you said is very few. This case tho is MagSafe. With other cases, I've slapped this on https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09MDY421H/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_NV3PVZT6QTZZNBGQ0AP0
Magsafe magnetic sticker.
I just got the Ringke Onyx case the other day that might work for you. I ordered it because I was wanted a grippier case, which this is, but the sides go up pretty high also, although not all of the way. If you look at the phone and case from the side, the display is only 0.5 mm higher than the case side, so pretty decent protection. I like this case and think I'll probably use it for awhile, but it does make the phone look like a rectangular slab. :)
I don't know of any cases that completely cover the sides except those heavy duty cases. Maybe one of the Otterbox cases?
does your charger specify output PD? also use a typeC that supports higher wattage like this one i use .
Otterbox Prefix https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09NB36B6K/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_1G6X0K5S6N4WSF5N2FC9?psc=1

I ordered mine from AliExpress because I’m in no hurry getting the case. I think it’s $5 on AliExpress.
There may be another app that has the permission to display itself over other apps that keeps messing with your picture in picture or one that blocks it. Try disabling overlay and picture in picture options for the Facebook app. The NordVPN app always shouted that facebook app is constantly trying to drop in an invisible overlay on my home screen. After that, I have cut all permissions possible for that crap app, disabled the overlay protection from NordVPN and never had that issue come back again. For me it works with YouTube Vanced, Netflix and Samsung Video Player including the Video Assistant from the Samsung Internet browser.

Spigen is always my favorite. I'm running their thicker case on my s22 ultra right now but have always enjoyed these on other phones
try this Sinjimoru ring. I was going to use it on the bare naked phone, but I decided to get a Spigen thin fit green color and it sticks on well and hasn't come off so far. it does have magnets so it isn't just a metal ring so there might be some interference with the S-pen, so far with my case there isn't any interference at all or if there is its very minimal. it also comes with a sticky pad that isn't at all thick that helps with adhesion to glass, etched glass I think, and then on the sticker itself you put the ring on it. haven't tested yet since I decided to put it on the case but I think it should work. also if you have any mag safe accessory attached then there will be interference with the S-Pen. just remove the accessory if you need to use the pen. also it will detect the pen as unpaired/lost if you reboot with an accessory. just remove the accessory and it should detect the pen again.
I bought one from Amazon, from Aukey before they were kicked out, but found one that looks very similar
I like it because it sits flush and super charges.
I wouldn't suggest that as the S22U is a massive phone, the Otterbox adds a bunch of size, where there are thinner cases that provide a good amount of protection, this is the one I use:
Caseology Parallax Protective Case Compatible with Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra Case 5G (2022) - Matte Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09HSWBDPH/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_FWDVWWTBMGX8V8JJQXGE?psc=1
I just noticed there is an additional element of the naming which is EZ. Probably stands for easy because no adhesive or UV light is required. -LINK-
I got the one from samsung.com website, and it did not stick to edges. Then I ordered one from Amazon, and it is amazing. Stuck properly all sides, is OK with the case on, and so smooth. Dome Premium - link
Hey, thanks for putting in that effort! I'm in the same category as you I think, I want (need) something that has good edge protection, but with the additional width on this phone vs my s20u, my tolerance for magablok style cases is much lower.
It's curious that with the (probably) hours I've spent reviewing cases on amazon and building a comparison list, that this never came up for me, so thanks for mentioning it!
I have this (Prefix) case being delivered tomorrow along with the spigen liquid crystal and one other to compare:

I like having a clear back because I can display my own design.

You can download fine lock from play store and install App Booster using apk mirror.

I had same problem lol downloaded app called Samsung band selection from play store someone had mentioned on here. You'll be able to get the hidden setting to change it. That's what I do when I'm at work to save battery since 5g isn't that great there and LTE is way better

The icon pack is Vera
Stock launcher + Good Lock, Theme Park. Also vertical app drawer
The clock widget is from google's clock app widget. I also use smart widgets a lot. It makes the homescreen clean
KWGT for the widget,
Good Lock for a majority of the color changes, custom icon use, and keyboard customization
And I get my wallpapers from an app called Walli 4K Wallpapers ( couldn't share the link from play store for some reason)
One thing not visible here is that I also use Bixby routines to remap the side key from long press for Bixby to the Google assistant instead.
Hope this helps!
Niagara Launcher with a live background
I've had Niagara Launcher for a long time now, and it's just gotten better and better. The dev hangs out on Reddit, and at least for a while, it was a one man show.

The folder part is active pretty easy, simply tap a folder, click the color icon in the top right, select the rainbow, then drop opacity to zero.
As for the icons, it's done by using Samsung's Good Lock app (found in Galaxy store), Specifically the Theme Park module. Once you are in the app, click Icons at the bottom of the screen, create new, and then you can add an icon pack from the play store. Seen here is "Nova Dark.
Hope this helps, happy customizing!
Yes exactly. You'd have to drop it in a really unlucky way for it to Crack but it's still a possibility. Unfortunately thats the case with most cases for this phone.
I know people have given great reviews for the whitestone dome screen protector in this sub but u personally bought from this link and it came with 3. It uses a special glue and UV light to cure it, a Lil difficult to get perfect but if you follow the video link, you'll have no trouble. Works with fingerprint and every case I've tried so far

I got this one from KaijuArmor because I liked the built-in camera protector. I don't know that I'd trust it on a high fall or clumsy drop on concrete, but so far, so good. Pretty grippy, too.

I don't understand the point of a wireless car charger. Don't u still need to run a cable to the charger instead of the phone? Why not just use a regular mount that is stronger and plug the cable into the phone?
I bought this one 3 years ago, it's never come off and the phone always stays in place. iOttie Easy One Touch iottie
First of all it's bloody hard to find a proper wireless car charger for S22U because of how big it is and how high the induction coil is placed. I used the Xiaomi 20W charger with my s10 and it was the holy grail of chargers for me because it was fast, actually worked and didn't overheat the phone. Unfortunately when I put my S22U in a case (Spigen Liquid air), this 1mm of case put it too high and I wouldn't always get fast charging because of that (the bottom support is fixed). Regular charging was not enough, especially with AAWireless.
After some searching and even going to an electronics store with a powerbank to test several mounts (non worked properly there as well), I finally found this. It looks a little cheap, but with the support extended to the max it does it's job.
With AAWireless, music from tidal, yanosik (cop warning app), and sometimes a secondary map displayed on the phone, the charge goes very slowly but UP. Just make sure that on sunny days it's placed near a vent blowing cold AC air (there is no fan like in the xiaomi charger).
Unless proven otherwise, right now I consider this the best 15w wireless mount.
I bought this one to use with my old Huawei and it works great with my new 22ultra. It's just under $15 right now.

I found two things that each made a huge difference for me. One was getting a 100W rated charging cable. That's what I'm using now. This QuickCharge 3 charger also works as well as the Samsung 25W model.
I learned that Samsung Galaxy series devices support up to QuickCharge 2.0, so the Anker one charges about 95% as fast using an Anker Powerline III cable as the Samsung 25W charger using the 100W cable.
Hope some of this helps, good luck.
