There is an app I would HIGHLY recommend for anyone who would like to learn more knots and how to tie them. In the Google play store it's called Knots 3D by Nynix LLC. I'm not affiliated but here is a link:

Super well produced and well organized with tons of knots (useful, decorative, and otherwise). There is a 3D animation that plays which you control the speed of and you can rotate the knot around so you can see it from multiple angles. I've had a way better time learning knots from this app than from videos. Each know also has a well written description of it's uses and pitfalls. On top of that the whole thing is offline so you can use it as a reference wherever you would have your phone on you.
Honestly, even if you're not serious about learning more knots it's just fun to mess with too!
Goalzero or Sun Saver. Both make a variety of portable panels and storage to go with them. All safe to use with devices.
This app is good for learning all sort of practical knot tying. It's not free, but it's cheap.
To really learn a knot you need to practice it a lot. I took a climbing instructor class and they recommended keeping a length of rope with you all the time so if you have any down time instead of playing on your phone practice some knots. I use the Knots 3d app when I am looking for a new one to learn.
I use Knots 3d on android. Don't know if there is one for apple the same but the animation is very clear and you can replay it at any speed and rotate the knot around to see it from any angle. I favorite it once I think I've learned the knot so if I have a situation I need the knot for I can pull it up quickly and double check if its been a while since learning it. link
Knots 3D. App for Smartphones. Excellent app with highly detailed 3D knot models, animations and descriptions. There is a free version but the paid for version is very well priced and totally worth it. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nynix.knots3d
I don't have a need for knots but it could very well come in handy, maybe even save someone's life.
It is available for Android, but not for free.
Year(s) ago, it was one of the free apps of the day at Amazon App Store.
Knots 3D is the app I use
If you have an android phone: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nynix.knots3d
Also this app (happens to be free from time to time, but worth list price anyways).
Posting here because my initial post got removed. I've no affiliation to the developers - I just hope you guys see this before the app deal disappears.
The Knots 3D app is currently free on both Google Play and the iOS App Store, and as far as I can tell, requires no special permissions at least on Android.

And an app with animated explanations that you can slow down for better understanding of how to make them: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nynix.knots3d
Knots app is free for the day. Android.
This guy should make use of it.
Since no one actually replied with an app, this one is for Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nynix.knots3d
The Knots 3D app is 0$ instead of 4.99$ on the Play Store right now.
