LeanDroid no ads, can turn-off WiFi and bluetooth when your phone goes dark, and re-enable them when the phone comes back on. Root is NOT required for those tasks.
You'll need root to disable mobile data by any 3rd party app.
When I was rooted I used LeanDroid to disable mobile and WiFi data 10 minutes after my screen went dark, and re-enabled after lockscreen. I found significant battery savings.
I use it now without root to disable only WiFi, and still get noticeable battery savings. You can also configure it to periodically re-enable WiFi/data if you need to pick up text/email, etc. No programming involved.

It disabled certain network abilities and introduced deep sleep to your phone. You can miss notifications this way though. I didn't mind it. Untill somehow I stopped getting any notifications from WhatsApp.
If you're on WiFi it won't be using Mobile Data, but Cellular is unfortunately another thing entirely, and as others have said it can be a serious drain.
I haven't used it myself, but I always hear people recommend LeanDroid, and yours seems like a situation that could really benefit from it. LeanDroid gives you several options for disabling various things automatically, so while I can't give a step-by-step I'd say it's worth looking into.
You can also use MacroDroid to set up a workplace Macro that will tweak various things when an action is taken. For example, I have a macro set up that activates when I connect to my workplace WiFi, and it sets my Priority Mode to Alarm Only (aka DND), sets Media volume to 0, turns Location Accuracy to Battery Saving (GPS in this building is really spotty), disables Bluetooth, and disables Mobile Data. When I disconnect from workplace WiFi everything reverts back to normal. It's a pretty great way to automate some battery saving, set it and forget it.

I tried an app called leandroid I found this afternoon and it's more than halfed my standby drain. It's reporting a .5% drain per hour. Haven't missed any calls or text notifications with it on, and I'm happy with getting fb/Snapchat/gmail notifications once an hour.

Xposed doesn't work on TouchWiz Lollipop ROMs for now... if you want an app that does like DS Battery, you can try Leandroid? You need root but trust after I've downloaded it I've never used a single battery app again, maybe except GSAM but just to see batt usage

I don't think any app can restrict cellular data without root. LeanDroid can restrict WiFi data on schedule without root, but can only restrict cellular data on schedule with root.
I've found that turning off WiFi/Bluetooth when the phone is unused can save a lot of battery. I use free LeanDroid for that. No root needed for those functions. Your WiFi/BT re-enable when your phone awakens.
LeanDroid app can disable WiFi after a specified amount of time after your screen goes dark. I don't think it's a good idea to abruptly turn off WiFi while working.
LeanDroid - great connection manager eg turn off mobile data after 25mns screen is off and resume once unlocked. Many more options in premium
Next Episode - most comprehensive TV show calendar I've found. Lists nearly all current TV shows and you can register for lists and reminders.
Scroll Me Ups - xposed module that does scroll to top and bottom like ios. Works well.
Terra - aerial photos that suit phones. Material ui.
WiFi Automatic - similar to lean droid but for advanced WiFi management. Eg turning on WiFi when a certain area is reached.
List made using List My Apps

leandroid play with the settings. It has dramatically improved my battery life.
LeanDroid no ads, root NOT needed to manage WiFi or bluetooth.
LeanDroid can enable/disable WiFi, cellular data, bluetooth etc for a rooted phone. No ads.
LeanDroid has a WiFi on/off scheduler. No root needed. No ads.
LeanDroid allows rooted users to disable/enable mobile data and WiFi on schedule.
LeanDroid can automatically disable Bluetooth. Root is NOT required for that feature.
LeanDroid No ads, no root required
LeanDroid WiFi on/off feature works without root.
LeanDroid can wake the screen every x minutes for y seconds.
I use an app call LeanDroid, the paid version though. Works like a charm.
power nap looks promising. it mimics sony's stamina mode.
Power Nap stops all services/wakelocks/alarms from waking your phone, with the exclusion of apps you whitelist. That means you can keep Wi-Fi or data on, and still get notifications for the apps that matter, but everything else will be unable to wake your phone!
There is also deep battery saver. i've been playing with it since last week but i find it too aggressive for my liking. it basically shuts off everything except the cell radio when you turn the screen off. you can set it to wake the device up in adjustable intervals to sync for email, data texting, etc...
There is also leandroid, but i haven't used it extensively enough to give an opinion. it's pretty similar to DBS.
leandroid hands down the best for standby https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teqtic.leandata&hl=en
