I agree, so I decided with my square watch to 'embrace' the retroness. After searching for a while I found this one:

I'm using LED watch face with weather https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=uk.co.wearabledesigns.ledwithweather ...it's really cool imo and with lcd watches like ours,having colour on always on does not have any impact on battery (at least on mine, around 2.8-3.1% an hour, lg g watch square)
I like Led with weather ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=uk.co.wearabledesigns.ledwithweather ) a lot. Got two working days with aod and tilt to wake on zenwatch 2 and 4 days on ticwatch pro (without aod, as they have special second screen for that case).
I think the best watch face is the one that fits your watch. I have a LG G watch which is an older and not very stylish watch. It reminds me a bit of the old Casio Calculator watches with how square and bulky it is.
So I use LED Watchface with Weather which gives my watch a retro 80s LCD like feel to it.
I prefer to own up to my clunky watch rather than try to hide it :)
