I'm always really satisfied whenever I use my Google Maps/music player setup.
The Soundcloud and Play Music buttons toggle their respective home screen widget on top of Google Maps (It's basically chat heads, but for home screen widgets). Navigating somewhere while playing music is something I do a lot, so full-screen Google Maps with minimal music controls is perfect.
The app that does this is Overlays. You can give it different profiles for different apps, so the buttons pop up whenever I open Google Maps, and hide automatically when I switch out of Google Maps.

Don't know what our devs' plans are, but you might check out this app, which gives you a single icon up in the corner that you can launch from any page and that has a number of applets, including calculator, note pad and calendar: Overlays - Floating Apps Launcher - Apps on Google Play
Permission denied. Does that mean it exists but it is something tasker can't access because factory installed? Idk what brush activity is but if it is opening a new note in brush mode you can use overlays app to launch the notes widget. Including tasker plug in support to launch it. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.applay.overlay
You could build something up with the help of an overlay app. I'm currently using https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.applay.overlay to add a countdown timer and a stopwatch to my fights for statistical purposes. This tool can be configured with different overlay widgets that automatically pop up when you open the configured app, resize, reposition etc. There's no "i need these three colors today" widget but you could build up something to your needs, perhaps with the text widget or the count widget.
*nbsp;
You can do this with an App named <strong>Overlays</strong> as it has Tasker plugin ability (think you may need the Pro/paid version).
*nbsp;
You'll basically be creating a "Scene" in the Overlays app which can contain one or more widgets, including Tasker Widgets and any other widgets on your device.
*nbsp;
Then via it's Tasker plugin you can turn that "Scene" on or off, basically showing or hiding the widget(s).
*nbsp;
The Overlays app is powerful but a bit difficult to configure at first because it uses terms that are implemented differently than what you might think they mean. Thankfully - <strong>I wrote up this "How To"</strong> to help you configure Overlays in a way that makes sense.
*nbsp;
This is the only way I know of to do this type of thing with widgets, other than the App "Pop-Up" Widgets which, as far a I know, doesn't have Tasker plugin/integration. I would need to check into that further.
*nbsp;
Step 1 create task in tasker app step 2 download overlays step 3 on the overlays app triggers page click create trigger step 4 click widget then scroll to tasker widget and select it. Result, a floating button over any app you can click to trigger task https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.applay.overlay
Currently there's no native way to do that on Android because the SW application package is blocking that splitting option I personally use Overlays Pro (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.applay.overlay) to play summoners in an hidden window I trigger when I click on a Messenger-like discussion bubble.
When I started playing SW fews years ago I also did use this app to make a win / lose counter with small counter widgets to calculate my win ratio after FRR.
There are multiples apps doing kind of the same things on the store, just look for floating app or multitasking keywords
I use Overlays but from memory, I'm sure Popup Widget had show/hide in it's Tasker action. Looks like an update has removed/hidden it so will require some digging.
I've got another one for ya! It's called "Overlays" - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.applay.overlay
It lets you place a floating icon on the display (that can be displayed always, or only over some apps, etc.) that when clicked - opens up a 'Scene' of widgets.
What's cool about it is that in the config - you can quickly click/drag/re-arrange the layout of the widgets just like you would elements in a Tasker Scene.
It also has a Tasker plugin in the Pro version, which I have yet to check out. The one downside to Overlays is that the interface is super-confusing as far as which menu's do what and how they're labelled.
Thankfully I've sort of figured it out and I can lend some insight for you and anyone else that is interested. (I'll likely be creating this into its own thread).
After installing "Overlays":
+
plus icon in the upper right. To Save your Scene - use the left arrow in the upper left, just like in Tasker! (finally something that makes sense lol)
Have fun!
Use KWGT with Overlays
Is it this one? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.applay.overlay

Unfortunately widgets don't work with it, but you can use Overlays to stick widgets on top it. Works really well but occasionally, when Overlays is updated, it loses the KWGT config but you can just tap on the empty space and select your widget so it's all good.
That top bar in my screen is a komponent I customized and it sticks to T-UI thanks to Overlays, so it acts like a proper widget. :)
> Could it be setup to display daily blocked/data saved (assigned to one app only) with quick auto-updates, and maybe your current connection speed with locations, etc?
Unfortunately TUI isn't really designed to setup stuff like that, well it might come in a future update, but not currently. But there's more than a few ways to skin that cat:
with 'Overlay' you can have an overlay including the widget showing per apps-basis, and you can add a widget off shortcut
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.applay.overlay
Install [this application], it will let you put widgets as overlays on your screen. Then I used [this widget] for the counters, because it was the simplest tally-type-counter I could find. It works wonders for trials or other hard content! You can also use a sticky-note widget for notes or a calculator or whatever else you could want as an overlay, too. It's nice for much more than only Brave Frontier. Just don't go too crazy. :P
The PRO version of Overlay (the app that converts widgets into Overlays) lets you minimise the widgets so they're not always in your face along with a bunch of other things.

Use this app to always have battery percent on screen https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.applay.overlay
This does exactly that https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.applay.overlay
Try this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.applay.overlay Might help.
I used this app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.applay.overlay)
Overlays does the trick for me.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.applay.overlay
Look into Overlays. You can use that with KWGT to do what you want.
If you wonder what app I use to make custom overlays, it's this one : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.applay.overlay
There are apps in the play store that will place a widget of your choice over the top of niagara. I'm using overlays.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.applay.overlay
Also have a look at overlay
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.applay.overlay
Overlays might be the app you're looking for.
Sorry, here is the link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.applay.overlay
yeah, I downloaded an app called overlays, it has a pro version but I didn't buy it. After that I used an image someone created to separate the thresholds and just overlay it onto BF while I fight some stupid difficult boss. The counter I used was just call Simple counter widget.
Overlay I use it this one: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.applay.overlay&hl=en
image is this: http://i.imgur.com/LSbO2RA.png
Red: 25% intervals
Green: 10, including 100 and 0
Blue: 5
Unfortunately I don't have the source of the person who told me all of this and had the image I took. Probably in my comment history somewhere.
This is what it looks like: http://i.imgur.com/URW02DM.jpg
My phone has a long screen so BF's resolutions leaves space at the top and bottom for me.
