Yeah I'm actually going to do this. I don't have eclipse glasses but I have one of these things and am just going to use this app in "no filter" mode on an old phone (Note 4).
There's an app on the Play Store called "Reality Hacker VR" that is camera vision, with options to add filters for both fun and functionality. It can correct colorblindness. It worked pretty well for me, but I have no vision deficits aside from a very acute nearsightedness. Give it a try! Hopefully it will do what you're looking for. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.visor.visionhacker
There's an app in the Google Play store called Reality Hacker that does this.
But just like every VR app in the Google Play store, it doesn't utilize the Gear VR the way a native app does. You have to put the phone into your Gear VR without plugging in the USB, the way you do when running any Cardboard app on this device. It's fun for all of about 30 seconds before the terrible tracking becomes too much to bear.
Here are two more similar ones: Reality Hacker VR and Wacky Goggles. Glitcher VR is still my favorite of them though.

^ Not 3rd perspective, but filters.
Might be worth asking in a reddit for phone VR.

That seems to do filters including cel shading.
Reality Hacker VR. I don't think I could handle mushrooms on it.

> From the sounds of it, said Cubicle Ninjas have developed the first app which takes advantage of the passthrough camera. The app will provide a look at the world through visual filters.

It is not even secret wisdom, there are apps for this, the whole objective is to learn to use your eyes more evenly.
I am not on here writing about secret rituals, or anything serious.
