Sim Life lets you make individual organisms, including crazy details like foraging patterns. You can make an entire ecosystem, including all plants and herbivores and carnivores and everything.

Sim Earth lets you basically terraform an entire planet and watch life evolve.

Whisky Stones, they are ice-cubes that don't melt, so they don't end up watering-down your drink, reusable too. They're blocks of rock or stainless steel that you keep in the freezer.

You could put them into anything to cool it down fast, like mix them into your too-hot dinner.

Actually it is very possible, and has been done even. Filabot recycles plastic into filament you can use for 3d printers.

Farming is kind of awesome. You can recycle old foodstuffs into fertilizer and print food in a way.

You can totally melt aluminium pretty easily and reuse it, lots of videos on it. Like making a mold then filling it. I want to try my hand at creating molds pretty badly.

Edit: oh yeah! big waste like wood and stuff. Checkout CNC Mills cause they are freaking awesome. It's like 3d printers in reverse, instead of adding material they remove material leaving and object behind. So you can turn like old 2"x4"s and 4'x8' sheets into some pretty interesting things. Heavy duty mills cut metal like butter.

I don't know how you can recycle paper in like a fun way or anything. Maybe just keep it for fires.

The New Testament is worth reading for the cultural literacy - it's neat to see what people believed 2000ish years ago, and how much of the Bible has shaped today's culture and parables in ways that aren't immediately obvious. Get a good textbook to help - I liked this one - and go to town. It's not THAT long, and it's worth it. Spoiler alert: Jesus is mostly chill and portrays himself quite differently in the first three Gospels than you might assume (John is where most of the theology comes from!) and it's really Paul that's the asshole.

So I recently attended a conference where this professor discussed his idea behind saving the animals.

So basically a ton of animals are slowly going extinct, due to loss of habitat, fishing etc etc.

so y’all know the foot chain: bee pollinates the plant, plant feeds the rabbit, rabbit feeds the Fox etc. we can slowly bring back the animals buy giving insects a place to live and eat.

Now some insects and birds are very… (specialized? I think that’s the word I want) where this insect only has their cocoon on a specific plant and a bird mostly relies on that specific insect for food.

So instead of landscaping with non-native plants, landscape with plants that are native to your area. He has studies that show a significant growth in insect and bird populations after using native plants!! Like someone with a <1 acre plot of land in Chicago with native plants in their yard now has an endangered bird roosting in their native tree!! (Don’t quote me on this exactly, I’m pretty high and my memory sucks)

So basically he suggests you shrink your lawn(of course still have a lawn, but not some huge sprawling lawn). And just landscape with native plants.

Also their are some plants that benefit more species than others. So they would be the most valuable to plant (like an oak tree).

Anyway the studies showed that this little chance can really make a difference. I often feel like there aren’t many things I can personally do to make a difference, but it’s things like this that remind me I can. 💚

I’ve read a lot Pema Chödrön, and though I don’t follow Buddhism, it’s definitely one of the closest religions I’d choose for myself if I wanted it. This is a nice condensed little read. Snippets of her other books on high level points of navigating life and the self. Each topic is only 1-3 little tiny pages long and it’s a nice little nightstand read for before bed or waking up. I tried to make it last by only reading one or two a day and I still go back to it and reread it if I’m struggling with the weight of the world.

I am def claustro and also have an intense fear of drowning. But the right water temp and music calms me quite a bit. If it's too dark crack the bathroom door for light (my speakers flash colorful lights). I def like to dim lights or go full dark because bright light, esp blue/white light, makes you more alert (sober you up), so the opposite with dim warm light, or even no light, will help elevate your high.

I go for strong highs too with edibles and in my mind I feel like I'm showering in a warm tropical paradise or a cool waterfall in the mountains: just depends again on the water temp and music ☺. To sum it up, it feels like I'm in a "5 Gum" commercial 😆

The flavoured papers I've tried don't actually give off a flavour when they're burned; they leave a taste on your lips. This can be maximized by licking your lips before taking a hit of a joint. So to answer your question: no they won't give off flavour when burned in the bowl of a bong. Also a joint rolling tip for you: you can actually buy joint rolling tools that make beautiful joints every time. Just don't over pack it and I recommend using a swirly dry pasta piece as a filter.

Technically light is both a particle and a wave but you are correct to say that no object can move faster than it (even though empty space, information and negative matter do have this ability). You are also correct that the universe has a constant lag from the perspective of each observer, however to say that this lag is unmeasurable is just silly because there are scientific instruments that can measure it. You can already observe the time lag with sound when you see the time delay between a bolt of lightening and its subsequent thunder. To answer your question I would say that each observer has a different perspective of the present, but the chemical and physical reactions that create each observation are occurring at the same base time that exists in the universal 'present'. If you really want your mind blown imagine our entire universe existing in the scale of a snow globe with someone observing it from the outside, they would be able to see all of the physical reactions of our universe happening at the same time in their observation of the present. (I hope I explained this in a non-convoluted way).

Interestingly enough, some scientists argue that time itself isn't a concept in physics and is only a construct of consciousness, recommend reading Time Reborn by Lee Smolin if you're interested about this, where he discusses each view and proposes that time IS a real thing.

I just finished Jackie's autobio. It was a very easy read and incredibly eye opening to his rags to riches story. His parents were house servants to a rich family, and after he failed traditional schooling, he was sent to a Chinese drama academy where this old school master made him train for like 12 hours a day.
