You should check out the theme choices I added to Root Check. Just taking a quick look at my analytics, ~0.08% of users change the app theme. However, the app isn't meant to be used for long periods of time.
OK , I googled from your game error and apparently that would happen if you're rooted! Magisk and supersu are things with which you can root when installing fulmics. Are you sure you didn't select supersu instead of fulmics when you flashed your rom?
First check if it's correctly rooted by installing a root checker app. After that, install a reboot app that specifically let's you boot into recovery. Links below

Hello again.
Different approach: why should one prefer an (unnecessary) closed source root app by an unknown developer (you) over the free root checker by the makers of rom toolbox?
And, again, why would one want to remove ads from an app that can be Uninstalled (your words) after the one second (your words) it takes to check root?
I really wonder what your business model is.
There's probably another su file out there somewhere you're missing. Get root check to help figure out where it might be. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrummyapps.rootchecker&hl=en
After you find it and delete it, reflash magisk6.zip and phh superuser17.zip then reinstall phh superuser.apk from the play store.
if all that doesn't work, gather more information about your phone and post it on xda in the magisk thread. They need to know everything about your phone and everything about the software on it and everything about the steps you've tried so far.
If install from unknown sources is turned off you would have had to have been taken to the play store, clicked install on the app that you were taken to, and then click to accept the permissions that came up for anything to have been installed.
So I seriously doubt you had any in the first place. More likely McCaffrey tried to block the advert tab and then failed, because McCaffrey isn't very good.
If things start to go funny try first off clearing chrome and any other browsers data.
Then if it carries on have a look at what apps you have installed, likely hood is a free game or some such has update and the add network they're using is pushing stuff.
A factory reset should have cleared anything but the most prevent of Malware (stuff that can use an auto root exploit) to check if you're rooted try this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrummyapps.rootchecker
If you're not rooted then nothing (if there was anything in the first place) should have survived the factory reset.
Malware is pretty hard to get on Android, you have to disable some default settings. Most people agree that virus guards on Android are a waste of time. You're best off using common sense and being careful.
Run Root Check. If it comes back positive, you may not have bought a new phone.
It may very well be rooted. Check using this root checker
If it is rooted, we should be able to unroot easily, hopefully allowing you.
Get back to me after checking with that app, maybe take a screen shot too
