Youtube is a great place to learn about running form and strength training. I've recently been watching this guy's channel: https://youtu.be/m-P8ge77FY4. He's really good at explaining things.
If I remember correctly, Mapmyrun is an app that will give you suggestions for routes. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mapmyrun.android2
I've found this app to work really well, and although I use their walking app instead of their running app I would imagine the running app works just as well. Never stops tracking, no straight lines and the distance seems to be pretty accurate. I don't even have to turn off battery optimization and it still runs with the screen off.

This App?: Run with Map My Run
It says it is incompatible with my Fossil Sport, I don't know why but that's why it's not showing up.
My very first job as and Android Developer was this product. I had never written anything for Android before, or for much else. I was brought on as the second Android dev.
But they needed to make sure I wasn't a total lunatic that couldn't code. So they gave me homework. If I remember correctly, it was to build an app that displayed a map, had popups for the city names and would do permutations of the city names on click. Tastemade also made me do homework.
Other places wanted to see the code that I did in my free time. I don't do code in my free time, so I lost a lot of jobs there.
