um... I used my 6P while snowboarding all last winter. Bluetooth music to my helmet, plus skitracks GPS sucking battery. Never had any weird battery dropouts.
I use Ski Tracks. It does pretty well with your stats, but it doesnt have the ability to show where other people are.

Ski tracks! There’s a lite version that’s free and the full version is just 99p

Ski Tracks is my preference. I used it during my ski season in France. Not the most beautiful but has what you need.

Depends how fast you mean. Up to around 45 or 50 mph I'd say I am pretty confident. At 60 i feel like i am on the edge and don't go that fast unless I know the trail well and it is wide and uncrowded. If you are talking 30-40 mph you ought to feel very much in control. (btw i know my speeds from using this)
I enjoy going for speed records with ski tracks.
Depends what you're trying to achieve. I use an android app to track my stats for years. No heart rate though. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.corecoders.skitracks
Although it has nothing to do with fitbit, I use "Ski Tracks" on android to track my trips.
