"Sports Tracker Running Cycling" https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stt.android It says for running and cycling but it has other options on it. It even uses google earth maps so you can see new places to explore! And its freeeee!!!!!
I use Sports Tracker, but since you mentioned open source for the scrabble app, there is also Open Tracks. It costs on the Play Store, but is free if you install from F-droid.
I use Sports Tracker for anything that requires tracking location. I find the free version way more feature rich than Strava's. Especially the in-app route planning.
The only thing behind a pay wall is no ads and different map types. It doesn't have as much of a social aspect, but that is the least of my worries for that type of app.
For lifting, I started out with Jefit and FitNotes, but I'm a premium user of Strong now. I've been using both apps for years, and have never found a reason to look for an alternative.

I've never used Footpath, but I left Strava for Sports Tracker on Android. I love it, and it has had in-app route planning for at least the 9 months or so I have been using it. It has a premium sub, but I believe the only thing that is required for is different types of maps.

I use Sports Tracker (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stt.android)
I don't know how accurate the calorie counter is, but yours seems rediculously low. Do you set it to some type of workout mode while you're skiing? That's the amount of calories I'd expect from a light walk for several hours, not from skiing for that long.
Helpful if you posted actual app. I'm assuming you mean this one? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stt.android Based on details of this one it doesn't sync with anything so probably not. Looks like it only supports built in phone features. Nothing outside the phone.
Sports tracker https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stt.android Neat app with a lot of stuff Inside. Doesn't have eskate category particularly. Shows similar activities in your area and stores yours in a calendar.
doesn´t work!
you have to download the sportstracker-app!!
it syncs to the suunto app (its the same platform) and you can connect a BT-HR-sensor in the settings :D
I left Strava for Sports Tracker.
It has on-device route planning, and you can have it follow the route. I'm honestly not sure if it gives audible directions or not though. The only thing behind a paywall is different map types.
I've tried most of the apps others have suggested. Most recently was Strava. I've been using Sports Tracker (Android link) for around 6 months, and it is the best I've used.
Almost every feature is free. I believe the only thing behind a pay wall are different map types and no ads. It has on device route planning, support for HRM, shows distance to two decimal places (probably not a big deal for most, but it was what made me look for alternatives to Strava). Probably the only downside is the social aspect isn't as good as Strava, if that matters to you. And it doesn't natively sync to smashrun, again, if that matters to you.
I hate to sound like an advertisement, but I really can't recommend the app highly enough. It doesn't get the recognition that it should.
While I think you may have problems beyond the app itself, I still recommend Sports Tracker. I never see it mentioned on here but its a fantastic app that I think is better design and features than most any other mainstream running app I see on here. All the free features you would expect and some worthwhile premium features too. One I really like is the ability to set a ghost target. You can have it chime it and tell you how far behind or ahead (distance and/or time) you are of previous runs of the same route. It's premium is only 27/year which is about half as much of most other running apps. But the free is still great too. Highly recommend it.
I never post on this weekly thread but this past week I had what feels to me to be a big accomplishment and I have no friends in my life who appreciate this sort of thing so I'm going to brag on here instead. It's a bit of a long one but I just need to express it.
Before Monday the farthest I'd ever ran (without stopping to walk periodically) was 4.5 miles. My average for a long while has kinda peaked at about 3 miles but past 2 or 3 weeks I've suddenly been making improvements. I run on either a half mile dirt track or on a trail near where I live depending on how I feel. But when I run on the track my goal is how far can I run. I use Sports Tracker app to record my run and have it chime in every mile with my speed and average and whatnot.
Anyway, on Monday I was feeling good and it was a relatively warm day for the season (~45°F) so I had a feeling I was about to have a good run. I have been working on running slow and far and I had hoped to set a new best and run 5 miles. I hit play on the latest This American life episode and started running. I always say the first 1 or 2 miles are the hardest because they are boring. They are simply the time you have to put in to get to the real miles at the end. The miles where you really feel like you have ran far. The miles where you know you are passing you average and nearing your person best. Those are the fun and exciting miles. My motivation always spikes once I finish mile 3 (which on some days might be my breaking point). I hit mile 3 feeling good and keeping the pace I wanted to keep (~9 min/mile). I do another lap, and another, and another. I've just ran 4.5 miles, tying my person best, still feeling good. Another lap. 5 miles. A new personal best and reaching the goal I had in mind for the day. But I'm still feeling good. I think, "why not one more lap?" So I do another lap and the running almost feels easier, more fluent than the previous laps. I feel completely at home. My legs at this point just seem to be flowing into each step. It just feels so natural. Not sure how else to describe it. As I come to the end of the lap which will put me at 5.5 miles I debate stopping. After all, I'm starting to feel it and I've crushed my personal best and my goal for today. No shame in stopping now. But I'm feeling too good and I know one more lap puts me at what would be a 10k. As I reach the end of the lap I say out loud, "One more lap, one more lap" admittedly with a bit of a slur from the heavy breathing and saliva build up. I run one more lap at a faster pace than the previous 5 laps. I made it to 6 miles which is 1.5 miles farther than my old record. I feel amazing but I call it quits after that.
I check my stats on the app. Total distance is 6.21 miles, almost exactly a 10k. Each lap is actually a little more than a half mile, hence the not even mile. Total time is 55 minutes and 40 seconds. 8 minutes and 58 seconds per mile. I managed to keep it pretty consistent throughout. First mile was a little fast at 8 min 22 sec and mile 5 was my slowest at 9 min 13 seconds. I felt amazing. Sometimes I feel a little burnt out after a long run but the feeling I remember having while driving home was if I went back to the track right then I could run another 6 miles. Thinking back I honestly don't know why I stopped at 6.
Thanks to anyone who took the time to read this. Bit longer than I thought it'd be when I started, but like I said I have no friends who would appreciate this story and sometimes you just don't want to keep it bottled up. You want to tell someone.
I always take a moment to promote what I use since I never see it mentioned on here. It's called Sports Tracker. I tried many run trackers including all the ones mentioned. Most of them either had interfaces I did not particularly like or missing deal breaker features. I ended up using mapmyrun for a week or two before finding sports tracker.
Pros:
All the free features you find in any of the other apps are included. One's I particularly like are the ability for it to read out you current distance, pace, etc. So while I'm listening to podcasts it'll interrupt and give me relevant info. It's much more customizable than most apps. You can set real specific distances for it to read out the info.
Data. I'm a big data nerd and this app (and website) really let you break down you run with elevation/speed charts and detailed ways of comparing different runs of same route or distance. You can even play routes over top of each other with 2 dots representing each run to see how they compare. Also if you are reviewing a particular run it'll automatically show you how you rank compared to other runs of either the same distance or the same route.
Premium is about half price the going rate of other running apps. Most apps I tried had a premium membership of 50-60 dollars, although few premium features I was particularly interest in anyway. Run Tracker is 27 dollars for a year and has at least one particular feature that made me decide to pay up. With premium you can set ghost targets. So say you have a normal route you run you can set you best time at that route as your target. It'll show your route with a dot representing your ghost target and a dot representing you currently. Now obviously it's not conveineint to look at your phone while running so just like earlier where you can set it to read out distance and pace of your run, you can set it to read out how you are doing vs your target. I usually set it for every quarter of a mile to chime in with how far behind or ahead I am based on time. So every quarter of a mile it'll say "You are 8 seconds behind" or however you are doing. Pretty cool motivator if you are trying to set a best time on a run. Of course I don't use this feature if distance is my goal and not worried about speed.
Only real con of this app I can think of is exporting or syncing data. You can import gpx files and export runs to gpx files but there is no bulk way to export all runs. Also some other apps allow you to connect to other services (such as google fit or run smasher, etc) and Sports Tracker does not currently offer any of that. Not neccesarily a huge drawback for me but it would be a nice option and some people who use multiple services may find it to be a bigger deal breaker.
I love Sports Tracker
I like the sports tracker app as a way to track speed, route, time etc. It's awesome.

Sports tracker app is quite nice. I use it two years, works fine and has option for skateboarding. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stt.android
Could it be this? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stt.android

Jeg kan anbefale "Sport Tracker", jeg er bare ikke sikker på om man kan forbinde det med et ur.
I'd recommend sports tracker. You can design your own routes in that. https://sports-tracker.com/ and https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stt.android
