Die beiden Spiele, die ich immer noch Spiele. Sind beides Puzzlegames:
Hungry Cat Picross: Reines Denkspiel und jeden Dienstag kommt eine neue Wochenaufgabe.
Two Dots: Auch ein Puzzlespiel. Hier gibt es jeden Donnerstag eine Schatzzuche (7 Levels). Fast 700 Level und schaffbar ohne einen einzigen Cent auszugeben.

I know brain injury stuff, as I am a double TBI survivor. 4 months away from each other too. I would highly advise getting him a subscription to I think it's called Thinkly but even casual thinking shows like Brain Games or Jeopardy while sitting when he does. I completely back up everyone saying daily walks, maybe even get him a one ear bud headphone set so he can listen to mind expanding classical music or maybe podcasts if he is into that.
My girlfriend's mom suffered a TBI a year and a half ago, and she barely got her sense of smell half back the other day. DM me if I can help any further based on my personal experience and what I've noted from an older individual who received brain trauma.
I can't promise anything, everyone's recovery is different, but I was "permanently concussed" 6 years ago and I had both my injuries 5 years before that. Now I'm even better than I was before.

Two Dots is very nice for de-stressing as it is a sight for sore eyes & has great background music. There are in-app purchases but the game gives sufficient rewards for your effort so you don’t necessarily need to buy power-ups since you’ll be given those as you proceed. I kinda think about in-app purchases in this game as a means to support devs, that’s how much it has enchanted me.
Two Dots is an excellent puzzle game that you can pick up and put down rather quickly. My number one go to recommendation

Two Dots sempre vai ser minha indicação. Joguinho rápido, pra quando você tá entediado/no trânsito e quer passar o tempo com um puzzle divertido. O level design é top-tier e é muito bonito.
Um well unless you don't mind less of a plot you aren't really going to find many. Honestly the only one I really like like that would be the two dots.
I mean obviously there's candy crush and it's sequels. There's also words with friends. But honestly you'll have more luck finding cross platform games then ones that you can pick back up on Facebook. Most of the games that connect to Facebook are just to get the friends list.

I like Two Dots, mostly because of the puzzling involved and the cute theme. It has microtransactions and ads, but those can be avoided and are not intrusive.
Other apps I enjoy:
- Sudoku 10,000 Free - A free and customiseable Sudoku app.
- Mahjong Master - Has a good amount of puzzles.
It's simple, fun and always updated
Only playing on the crapper helps me not run out of lives.
