I wonder if VR would give that feeling? If you ever have the chance to try this game in a good VR headset (Gear VR is what pulled it off for me) you could definitely see the potential this game would have with that vertigo feeling. It would also be very nauseating lol
You should try a VR roller coaster. You can buy Google Cardboard for $20 bucks, download a 3d rollar coaster app, and try it out. I found that the sensations were quite realistic. Not as intense as a real rollar coaster, but you get the sinking in your stomach (which I think feels awesome).
VR swing was the most thrilling for me: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fibrum.crazyswingvr&hl=en&referrer=utm_source%3Dgoogle%26utm_medium%3Dorganic%26utm_term%3Dgoogle+play+vr+swing&pcampaignid=APPU_1_LaFUV7KRGI2qyAKn3KrIBw
Fibrum did spacial audio from the beginning.

The year of Cardboard is upon us. Now, if someone could make full, HD games with the Qualcomm 820 phones.
