Millie Marotta’s Animal Kingdom Book of Prints
They are larger prints with thicker card stock, perfect for framing!
Thank you! 😊 I have been enjoying learning how to shade. I will get better over time. These Castle Art pencils were bought off Amazon for me as a gift. They are really nice. Blend really well and I recommend them! 😋I'll include a link for you.
I used to use Arteza, and then my husband bought me these for my birthday and I love them so much more! They're very smooth! They keep going in and out of stock on Amazon, but as soon as they're back, I'm snatching up another set!
It’s called
I have no idea, I haven’t used any of them, but soon I will have the crayola coloring pencils. They were pretty cheap. 120 coloring pencils for 19 dollars I think. I got them from amazon. I will leave my feedback here once I get them 😄

Thank you. They are in the book Worlds Within Worlds and it's available with spiral binding if that appeals to you.
The one in the second picture is a pencil extensor because the color pencils are my kids they are kinda small for me so the extensor helps me a lot. https://www.amazon.com/Extenders-Adjustable-Lengthener-Coupling-Writing/dp/B0B4ZWQJQF/ref=mp_s_a_1_9?crid=3K2QU508IX7QE&keywords=pencil+extender&qid=1670381902&sprefix=pencil+ex%2Caps%2C208&sr=8-9
Hi I bought these for larger areas (like the backgrounds). I haven't had any issues.

I use both expensive and not-so-expensive pencils. I just got this a few months ago and they are working well. Good luck!

Get a tgaal sharpener, you can control how long your points are. Also you shouldn't turn the pencil, you should be turning the sharpener and holding the pencil stationary. If you find a lot of your pencils, especially those from the same set, are breaking you may want to lay them out in a flat layer in the sun or warm then up a bit with a hair dryer to try and melt the cores back together a bit.
As for books I've been really enjoying Maria Trolle's books. They're beautiful and just the right amount of detail for me, I find the Joanna Bashfords and Kerby Rosanes too much. I have Luna and just got Botanicum
Not OP but I keep my pencils in these pencil cases, each can hold 200 pencils or so. So I keep 1 big set with a smaller set in each case. Ex: 120 Polychromos with 50 Holbein pastels, 120 Arteza with 60 Stabilo pastel pencils, etc. Each pencil has its own slot and since I generally don't use more than 1 brand at a time, it's easy to keep 1 case open while coloring. The pencils I'm using for a page I put it in upside down so I know which ones I'm using right now.
There is no wrong result. Some of us will never be happy with what we produce no matter how much we try but so long as it engages our interest then it serves its purpose and we earn the right to be satisfied.
A skill that has a potential benefit in creating a pleasing image is the ability to select colours that go well together. Nature seems to get it right every time but, somehow, my mother never did in all her 84 years, neither had my young second cousin when she discovered a joy for crocheting blanket squares. After I introduced her to this Rainbow Color Selector, something I can thoroughly recommend using, the compliments came flying in and she began to get requests. I was lucky not to inherit their problem but even so I still like to reference a colour chart or wheel such as that in the planning stages.
Another thing to try is using different shades of the same colour. And yet another on the same theme is to use lead pencil (or black crayons) to produce a monochrome image. These can help with learning pencil control and shading techniques.
Few tips from a fellow insecure colorer:
https://www.amazon.com/Coloring-Crafts-Coloristas-Ready-Color/dp/1497200873
Invest in some alcohol markers with brush tips. They are super vibrant, easy to blend and layer, easy to correct mistakes with and they're a dream to use. I recommend Ohuhu brush & fine tips for affordable high quality markers with a good color range. (216 colors max for this line)
Get a big mandala book, pick 4-7 random colors, forget about if they go well together or not. Then color the whole thing consistently sticking to the same colors for the same parts. So for example if you color a certain swirl red, use the same red every time you see the same swirl.
Also forget about using multiple colors or creating swirls or dots or whatever extra decorations that is not already in the pattern. Just color the sections that are already printed.
It'll look like crap for a while but when it's finished something magical happens. You'll discover that even if you picked colors you would normally hate together, once the mandala is finished it still looks great. The symmetry and the repeating few colors makes it very pleasing to the eye.
For this reason, I recommend sticking to repeating patterns instead of freehand books where you need to use 20 different colors.
And don't use too many colors, theore colors you use, the harder it becomes to make it look good together rather than a mess.
If you like horror themed pages I would recommend "the beauty of horror" series by Alan Robbert. https://www.amazon.nl/BEAUTY-HORROR-GOREGEOUS-COLORING-BOOK/dp/1631407287
Also really good paper quality are the Pop manga books by Camilla d'enrico. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1984858491/ref=dbs_a_def_awm_bibl_vppi_i12
I have a really big book collection. If you are interested you can take a look at my Instagram page @dewereldinkleur I always name the book/artist of the finished pages I post.
The Hanna Karlzon/Maria Trolle books are nice but the paper isn't great for watercolor or markers.
Mine is a little “trippy” lol I have some entertaining illustrations in it. But it isn’t hardback,
Tricks & Treats, A Pinup Coloring Book https://www.amazon.com/dp/1737791307/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_RZ0S2FKNEBHG3CN65JRX
Not sure I can help you with "trippy", moreover if you are looking for "quality"... Usually, quality coloring books are more in the "nature" or "elf and gnome" topic range. I can suggest these : . Mes marque-pages à colorier - Oiseaux de feu https://www.amazon.ca/dp/2815313839/ref=cm_sw_r_awdo_GK7YRG7P1J12JQPHEBJE
It is a bookmarks colouring books with fantastic birds /phoenix, they are small, easy to color yet beautiful, and the paper is okay (not that great but works well with waxy pencils).
My favorite set of colored pencils quality/price wise are the Brutfuner (the black box with the sunflower on it) 💛 180 pencils for around 70$ usually. They are highly pigmented and easy to blend. For markers, I haven't tried them yet, but I just bought a 60 pack of Ohuhu alcohol markers... I've read they are a good quality/price choice....we'll see!
You could go on my profile and have a look at some of my colored page. If any of them get your attention, comment on them I'll let you knot what coloring album it's from and the quality to it...
Hope this respond to your query 😅 (yes there is many "stoner" coloring books available on Amazon and stuff, but it's not my style so I haven't tried them - but I would not have much hope for them to be of high paper quality).
If, by chance, you’re interested, I created a coloring book for kids called Encouraging Fings. Did you want alcohol markers? In which case they will bleed through everything. Felt tips you can use any tbh, however, the cheap ones you will need to swatch out cos the colour on the barrel is nothing like the colour it is; alternatively, if you are willing to spend money, Faber castell pitt pens are like super powered felt tips. Felt tips are ok for a lot of the paper in colouring books, you should test all supplies you are using on a spare page or you least favourite picture anyhow.
There is also the alternative of something like Derwent inktense. They work like watercolour but are ink so can be very vibrant and awesome.

Sorry, dunno how to find it other than a link to my previously bought stuff :S
I found this on Amazon
COLORS: A Workbook: Matching, Mixing and Selection for Colored Pencil https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B087SCKD54/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_CZJDRZN5QFGBY95VTR58?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I usually look at the page and try to decide what, in general, I want it to look like. Then I choose my colors based on color theory so that I know they'll be harmonious (you can get a color wheel on Amazon for under $7, and you can learn about basic color theory on sites like Sarah Renae Clarke's, without all the in-depth art school boring stuff, and I strongly suggest both of those things for people who want to color as a hobby.) I believe that's 90% of your problem, not understanding how different colors work together. Analogous, tertiary, complimentary, primary, secondary colors all have their places. It's not as complicated as it sounds. Following videos is fine, but if you learn WHY that colorist is using those colors that way, you won't have to.
I use a lot of digital artwork from Etsy, but for book work, if I have zero ideas, I look for finished pages on FB, Insta, and Pinterest for inspiration. Also here, which is why I'm such a pain in the ass about people citing the name of the artist, the book, and what medium they used when they post. It's so helpful to others looking for inspiration.
This post on color theory basics by Sarah Renae Clarke is a really good post on the basics of color theory, and there are other resources out there. You can also download a free color wheel and print it yourself but I really suggest getting this Atomus Color Wheelavailable on Amazon. It's $6 and change and it gives you all you need.
What about something like this? Or too much detail? https://www.amazon.ca/Creative-Haven-Birds-Blossoms-Coloring/dp/0486832341/ref=pd\_bxgy\_img\_2/143-5586449-7976020?pd\_rd\_w=64wyH&pf\_rd\_p=8c482a45-7c0f-409b-937c-741a67b11a67&pf\_rd\_r=2TRT9PMS7MVT4A5SJEJ7&pd\_rd\_r=498fe71a-be5d-4...

Thank you so much for the interest! :)
Here’s the coloring book on Amazon
The paper is thick (I used a black copic marker for the edges and it didn’t bleed through too much), the art is single-sided, and each page is perforated. Easily my favorite book so far.
Hello everyone!
I just wanted to let you know that I created my own Coloring Book and wanted to share it with the world. x)

I love coloring and I’m glad to help someone get going.
Artist Editions will say so on the cover.
https://smile.amazon.com/Secret-Garden-Artists-Pull-Out-Colouring/dp/1780677308/ref=mp_s_a_1_12?dchild=1&keywords=basford+coloring+artist&qid=1611177207&sr=8-12
Nheea has some good tips, too. You can use watercolors in many books if you’re light-handed with the water. It wasn’t fun for me in Johanna’s books because I inevitably wanted to blend one color into another, and I would end up with too much water. I had more success with a nice little Alice in Wonderland book that had thick paper.
Not sure if this is the one you have - but I did find this which sounds similar
Pencil Case Holder Slot - Holds 202 Colored Pencils or 136 Gel Pens with Zipper Closure - Large Capacity Polyester Pen Organizer for Watercolor Pens or Markers - Perfect Gift for Artist Purple Cat https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07CXFZ32X/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_J9ULFbMQQ0Y55?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Could also use a pencil sandpaper pad Here is one on amazon: Shapenty Sketch Sandpaper Pencil Pointer Sand Paper Sharpener Drawing Tools, 12 Sheets/Board, 4 Pack https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072Z3RWKX/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_sBcpCbJWM9SNR
You can find them on Amazon . This is the exact pack I bought. But tbh, unless you are new to coloring, I wouldn’t buy these. I am new to coloring. I sought a way to stay awake while watching tv, playing DnD,… because my new meds keep making me fall asleep if I dare to rest. But they indeed color well. I now found found out if you color once with “red kiss” and once with “sweetie purple “ you get a new red color. And if you do twice red instead of once in this combo you get cherry red. Go check my new post I made today. (It’s a cat this time) most colors you can’t mix with these, but there are some exceptions. But I am looking into buying a new, more professional set. Because these are simply not enough. But it’s a great beginner set. But I need more colors.
I did this just because I liked a finished page so much I wanted to see it all the time. If you love it and are proud of the work why not share it?
I got a piece of wood, one of the blank wood canvas ones. Like this -> Wood canvas panel on Amazon. Used Modpodge to mount and then applied 3-4 layers to seal it. Turned out really nice.
If you mean the kind that have color in them already, I have Tombows (probably around 25 of them) and a set of Arteza ones I got on Amazon that I think has 20 colors. I pick the Tombows up at Michaels or Blicks when they go on sale so I’m slowly building my palette.
For water pens to use with my watercolors and watercolor pencils, I have six, two sets of the same 3 pack from Derwent: Amazon Link It has a chisel tip, large tip, and fine tip.
Oooh, so pretty! That's the kind of blending I'm always too lazy to get lol — you've definitely sold me on them. I can justify it when I think of 60 colors for $70 vs 7 pan pastels for the same price lol. Plus, I just got Pop Manga Mermaids, and these would look so good with that.
What do you use to sharpen yours with btw? I've seen some people say pencil sharpeners work and others say that you should stick with sandpaper. Also, do you remember if you paid around $70 for yours? Sometimes Amazon bumps the price up and down, don't want to pay more than I have to. :)
I like this set by Color Technic. Its so glittery, but the ink doesnt jam, skip, or leak, and its not super opaque so you can blend them into each other a little, or layer them on an undercolor of marker.
Here’s the ones we got
Fabric Markers Pen, 32 Colors Permanent Fabric Paint Pens Art Markers Set - Fine Tip, Child Safe & Non- Toxic for Canvas, Bags, T-Shirts, Sneakers https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004LK0WEO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_9furFb8QT3K9J
Not sure how many washes he got out of them, but I know he got some really detailed sketches done. He colored a whole white cotton sweatshirt and he was able to do the sleeves while he was wearing it lol, so I know you don’t have to press very hard/stretch out the material or work very hard for it to work.
Looks like they’re actually only $13
Is this the sharpener you're talking about?
For landscapes, try searching for national park themed coloring books. One example: 61 Illustrated National Parks Coloring Book by Anderson Design Group.
This is also a good one: https://smile.amazon.com/Dinosaurs-Coloring-Book-William-Stout/dp/1608878643/ref=sr_1_36?dchild=1&keywords=coloring+book+dinosaur&qid=1596210510&sr=8-36.
I have the Beauty of Horror book and I love it. There are some mandala type pics in the book but otherwise see good scenes.
Found this one too - Weird world of creepy things https://www.amazon.com/dp/1703360478/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_QUcjFbJZBA5JE
Tattoo Coloring Book: An Adult... https://www.amazon.com/dp/1719867879?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share (in case the link didn’t work, I’m on mobile)
Thank you! I love using these pens they're very vibrant!
I actually got this off Amazon, Dragon Coloring Book For Adults
Using Soucolor pencils, along with a tombow green and a Prismacolor green. Pencils and Coloring Book purchased from amazon.
Thank you so much! 😊 I love using the glitter and metallic gel pens the most. The name of the coloring book is Too Cute. I will include a link for you. I didn't buy it from Amazon, but got it at Meijer for $5.99. I will def post the final coloring! 😉
https://www.amazon.com/Too-Cute-Coloring-Book-Designs/dp/1464776555
I bought this 120 pack that comes with a set of refills on Amazon. It says 240 but it’s 120 colors with one full set of refills. I don’t think you can buy the refills separately.
I bought this 168 set on amazon. I did receive 168 markers, but one was a duplicate and one color was missing. I contacted the seller and they said they are sending me the missing one. So far these markers are working great.
I also picked up these gel pens from Costco for $14.97. That's an amazing price.
I recently just ordered some ultra fine Sharpies and Bics, for use in more detailed coloring books, but haven't received them yet.
Not sure if this is normal for Amazon or not, but Lyra's Polycolor oil-based pencils are only $38 there. The 36 color is only three dollars cheaper, and Dick Blick lists the price as $67, so seemed worth a mention. :)
I got them, and I've been super happy with them.
Edit: Definitely a good deal!

Not from a book. It's from this small card collection called Creative Expressions: Cards to Color and Share
