The jibberish I’ve seen from console that looks like that was related to the console cable.
This is my cable of choice:
OIKWAN Console Cable,USB Console Cable, USB to RJ45 Console Cable with FTDI chip Compatible with Cisco, Huawei,HP,Arista,Opengear,Aruba,Juniper Routers/Switches for Laptops in Windows, Mac, Linux https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075V1RGQK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_RCE79FQK571C08PAGZCT?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I suspected the power source too. I had never used circular plug adapter before so don't know how it behaves. We always use POE injector like this one (af, not for 555). Even with single POE, it should run in power restricted mode without issues.
I had seen two bricked AP with similar behavior so it's rear and hope yours not.
Thanks for your help explaining this it is appreciated!
Would this work for the 3810m switches? https://www.amazon.co.uk/AmazonBasics-Male-Micro-Cable-Black/dp/B0711PVX6Z
The cable says it has 480mps data transmission, so I am guessing this is all good for a console session?
Thank you I was thinking that would be the case.
So something as simple as this should work? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Android-Braided-Charging-Compatible-Samsung/dp/B09VDFJCF5/ref=sr\_1\_11?crid=2J21ALHH1R902&keywords=micro+usb+to+micro+usb+a&qid=1668609923&sprefix=micro+usb+to+micro+usb+a%2Caps%2C90&sr=8-11
Hey, im using this https://www.amazon.com/Injector-U-POE-af-802-3af-Supported-Ethernet/dp/B07SH2NM9F
It turns on, but it flashes System status for a second and then the Radio status just blinks once, then it just loops that again.
I just purchased these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07D9R5JFK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1.
I have never used it. Do you know the procedure?
It's not a study guide per se but get the book Understanding ArubaOS 8.x by David Westcott https://www.amazon.com/Understanding-ArubaOS-Version-David-Westcott/dp/0998470414?ref_=d6k_applink_bb_dls&dplnkId=dbb3499a-57f3-46d9-aea9-24f0d2cd355e
At least with that device, I dont have high utilization of bandwith. I've also link flap prevention enabled.
When it happeans, that device mac address, disappear from Mac table for a while. On buffered log there is no link up or down recorded. And after come back online, it doesnt record his Mac address on Mac table for a while. Its like nothing is connected to that interface (from Mac table perspective), but the port is up, and the device is network reachable. I've search for that Mac on other switch but same result. Tha device is only connected to one switch!
I've loop protection and spanning tree enabled (it came by default with MSTP)(on spanning tree statistics I dont have anything).
That watchdog and that device that is having short periods offline, are both connected on the same switch.
This is my current network layout: https://prnt.sc/Ok2ahMt8fVfQ
On Switch A1 is where I am having issues.
On Switch A2 I have just noticed that power led is blinking orange, but there is no issues in terms of functionality, nothing on Buffered logs, no errors at RMON and no errors on interface statistics.

This one works in my 6100-12port model.. It shows up as a 10GbaseSR transceiver, but it does link up to an official Aruba 10GBaseT transceiver (installed in another switch) like it should..
You need something like this to get a baseline. Then after that you can run show power commands to figure out what you are using.

Unifi typically is their own passive PoE, not standard. Anything compliant with 3at should work fine. We've had good luck with TrendNet, for example.

JumpCloud - Among other things, they provide cloud-hosted RADIUS & LDAP, which is what this client is using
RADIUS is the Authentication Source
LDAP is used to pull Authorization attributes (i.e. Group membership, etc)
From everything I’m reading the IAPs (InstantOn Access Points) are the ones that can run as their own controllers. The AP305/315 is set in Campus mode and requires an external controller to function. Actually I was looking at maybe picking this up. It might be a bit of an overkill as I don’t think I need 3
What do you guys think. Go for the IAP22 with Wifi6 or IAP15 with WiFi 5 but 4x4 MIMO-MU?
If anyone has a better place than Amazon to pick them up for a good price I’d love to hear about that as well
Could you provide a model number? If I lookup the 305 or 315 on Amazon I’m getting huge price differences. Closest thing I can come to is this but I’m not sure if this is the one with the integrated controller.
Aruba AP-315 JW797A Wireless Access Point, 802.11N/Ac, 4X4:4 Mu-Mimo, Dual Radio, Integ
Is there anything useful at: https://www.zabbix.com/integrations/aruba ?
I couldn't find any technical specs at the HPE web site. However if the device supports SNMP then you could easily grab the data with Zabbix.
So you can use just straigh USB cable. I.e. USB -C to USB-C if your computer has USB-C port, or USB-C to USB-A.
The serial chip lives on the switch itself, so no special cable needs to be used.
My laptop has a USB-C port, so I bought this cable: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0832KMRLT/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Works PERFECTLY on the switches.
Serial port settings: 8,N,1 - 115200 baud

Windows and macOS will automatically install the the proper driver and the port will present as a serial port.
Not sure what you mean by HPE press book, so I want to give this link just in case it's something else.. This is the official Aruba study guide book you can buy on Amazon [here!]( https://www.amazon.com/Certified-Switching-Associate-Official-Certification/dp/1942741529/ref=sr_1_1?crid=1GALD69P6BAZE&keywords=aruba+certified+switching+associate&qid=1582494749&sprefix=aruba+certi%2Caps%2C170&sr=8-1)
As far as I know it is supported.
Check chapter VPN.
So, there's no official exam guide like a Cisco exam. David Westcott has an AOS book about to be published, but not in your time frame. I'd pick it up anyway, Dave is great and I've seen some of the material from it, very well written.

The Mobility Boot Camp should get you there. I'd also refresh on the VRDs, look at AP Capacity on Controllers and know about stuff like Mesh, HA and Profile hierarchy stuff (do a show profile-hierarchy on a controller for a good visual of what lives in each profile. If you've been working with AOS for more than a year or so it should be a cake walk.
