I put one of these on our back patio sliding screen door and it's held up to our dog nicely.
I highly recommend one of these. We have been using them for 5 years and set them to go at around 2 am. It seems to be the optimal time, and it makes almost no noise! Plus the cats can’t figure out how to get into it.
I was not meaning to sound judgy. Cats can get kinda "stuck" once they get a favorable response a single time. You could try putting child-proof corners on the cabinets to see if you take away the sound if you can diminish the behavior.
If that does not work...stand nearby, wait for the second the banging stops. If treat motivated, give a treat only when there is no banging. Repeat. If not food motivated, try a cat toy with a feather on a string. Something super fun. They only get the reward when they don't bang. Hide the toy when not in use for this purpose. It may take days, weeks or longer (depends on the cat). But, see if you can re-program the cat to learn that not banging brings good things.

Lucky for you, it's already a thing. I had something similar to this to keep the neighborhood feral cats from shitting in my garden. Motion Activated Sprinkler
Link for anyone who is lazy like me!
Not OP, but it looks like Amazon carries it
Our cat smudge found he could wedge his paw up there to flip the wheel to get food. He would sit there all day just going at it. We finally replaced it with one of these and with no access he just sits there and waits.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07JFCML59/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
My boyfriend's cat makes the same face when I take our bidet sprayer off the holder. (It's this style, rather than attached to the seat.) He likes to sit in the bathtub, so I'll spray water from the bidet at the shower wall (the water is clean.) It's a game for him, because he wants to catch the water. Except he's also afraid of the water getting on his face, so he squints. Now he will squint when he hears me pick it up even if he's at my feet or under the linen shelves instead of in the bathtub.
We use the same litter for our 8 fur babies and had to get a bigger box. Our cats range from 3 pounds to 20 pounds. Here is the box we got.
https://www.amazon.com/Natures-Miracle-Advanced-Corner-Litter/dp/B004N1NAMW
The other thing we did is put a large flat piece of cardboard under it. We have a few diggers, so if they happen to spill any you can lift the cardboard and dump it right back into the box.
Hope it helps!
don’t get a leash, get a “cat holster.” cats slip out of leashes and even harnesses. you want the thing that covers most of their body: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007KAX8DO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fabc_fHgUFbYPD9G1Y
Amazon sells metal cord protectors that really work, I’ve heard the copper has a very displeasing taste to cats and dogs

Not completely, but our three assholes will scratch this over the couch nine times out of ten.
Here's the one I got, the walls are actually 8" high. You won't need the lid if you go with something like that. Cats actually really dislike covered boxes for multiple reasons.
Because people love getting judgy on reddit, ESPECIALLY when it comes to pets. In the same breath, these people will talk shit about "Karens" and then turn around and go full Karen on a pet owner. It's so stupid.
Clearly, your cats are not in danger. You seem to love them very much. Sometimes there are poops that you don't get to right away in the litter box. I'm not following my cat around all day, wondering if she's ready to drop a deuce. I clean it when I notice it, which is typically once a day, sometimes twice if she's extra poopy. I want to go and investigate these people's litter boxes. I'm sure they're pristine.
By the way, I only clean my cat's pee once a week. I got this awesome litter box this summer and I rarely smell cat pee anymore. It has pads that you change every week. The pellets don't absorb the pee. I was so sick of smelling stinky pee and I almost bought one of those $500 robot litter boxes. This was super cheap and it works great. I highly recommend it!
u/work_constantly
My work requires me to work unscheduled over-time sometimes. Mine dont go nuts like this but gives me silent treatment. Like if it is depressed and sad.
I bought automatic cat feeder with timer. I programmed the weight and time of feeding. It works with electric also batteries in case power goes out. Happy cat happy me.
Edit: it holds about 2 kgs so i can be easily one week away.
Not exact model but feeder type is same: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Automatic-PetSafe-Programmable-Dispenses-Capacity/dp/B00VIXRB6O/?ie=UTF8&tag=mashableedit-21&ascsubtag=21ff5ff7-8c25-44a8-86bc-c86fe5a66606
Fyi...these are low voltage cords, so while annoying, and costs add up, the only harm to kitty is what they may eat of it that may not pass through. So, just watch for poop changes or lack of it.
Try getting kitty some cat grass as a diversion. That might help with the desire to chew stuff.
If kitty has a gnawing issue, maybe try these
https://www.amazon.com/SmartCat-3832-Ultimate-Scratching-Post/dp/B07W865K8N?th=1&psc=1
Yep I agree. Something tall like this one in the amazon link should work great. Cats like to stretch when using the scratching post.
Put a pressure activated heating pad where you want the kitty to sleep.
Here is one (I don't own it, this is just what came up when I googled) https://www.amazon.com/Pet-Products-Thermo-Kitty-Heated-Mocha/dp/B000S9M2U4
Came in to say the same thing. My mom used to make biscuits on it every weekend. Pretty sure it was a Tupperware item from the 70s.
EDIT: Yup, found it
As the owner of 6 black cats, i already found this funny since i know they are always plotting to kill me.... What made it even more funny was that i ordered this shirt a few days ago to represent that feeling.
Okay.
Amazon has some alternative comforters for a reasonable price.
Kevlar sleeves are amazing anti-cat protection. I use them on the regular for grooming. Since you seem to have a lot of interactions with unhappy cats, I thought you might like to know.
I use a metal pan like this because smells can stick around on plastic and imo, metal is more sanitary. I got this tip from a reddit post who ran a foster home for kitties.
This is one of our favorites, but I like to put one of his shirts one him (weather appropriate) before making sure the harness is on tight to make it extra cozy and secure.

This is the one. Unfortunately looks like they don't sell many of these anymore and the person who has stock is price gouging BIG TIME. (I'll be reporting them!)
I paid 30 bucks for this last year and now we have a seller trying to sell it for $300.
We got this one. I don't pull the TP through the bottom. I open it to get TP and close when I'm done.

Hahaha literally one of the reviews for a product like this is that a woman was buying them for her cat!!
Use the Sync app. When you click reply to their comment it shows you their comment above the one you're composing - including, importantly, the actual markdown codes they used.
Get a Felaway diffuser. A few years ago, I bought in two cats. Just the mere sight of them would make my original cat throw up. Literally. We put a couple of these throughout the house and just a day later, no more puking.
They sell them at PetSmart also. Might save you a vet visit.
Pet sitter here. He's in pain. And that may be a lifetime thing as arthritis develops at the site of the amputation. He may also have lasting nerve pain and 'phantom' pain.
I would toss the litter box and get one of those 'under the bed' plastic totes (not the ones with wheels). Then replace his litter with something soft. I would recommend Nature's Miracle litter. It is the softest cat litter I've seen. It clumps but not great. Controls odor well. One caveat is that it is a lightweight litter so invest in a large litter mat. I would go with a litter trapping mat as they are softer, like this one: https://www.amazon.com/Bull-Honeycomb-Double-Layer-Waterproof-Material/dp/B07PSBJ2KC/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=1RCY1SRN4S6T4&keywords=litter+trapping+mat&qid=1661355389&sprefix=litter+trapping+mat%2Caps%2C141&sr=8-3
Someone mentioned Feliway and that is a good idea. A lot of people use the plug ins but you might get the spray (cheaper) and apply it to the litter mat. There are also calming treats (I use GNC brand) and some of my clients claim success with CBD. If those fail to work, most vets are willing to prescribe Prozac for cats. You can get it in a transdermal gel to apply to their inner ear.
Sadly, the declawed cats I have known are generally a little 'off.' So this is something that may need ongoing management. Hope this helps.
This stuff. Put it on immediately and leave it. Refresh in 20 min. Will prevent swelling and itching and it will heal quick. Also, keep claws trimmed.
I got this fountain back in 2010 and it still works like new and has never been spilled. A really great buy.
Bribe your cat with treats and trim their nails.
Need a wide based mug with a lid- this will slow him down when he tries to knock it over or off stuff. By then another orange cat will require the brain cell they all share, he'll go off line for a bit and have no clue where he left off.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00OO2MSB4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1
It's ugly, but it sure stops the toilet paper game cold.
Numerous people mentioned the wire covers. They are basically the same thing they use to cover wires on vehicles (brakes lights, etc). Lightweight plastic slit down the side and comes in different diameters. Cheap on Amazon. I use it on my chargers cords and any others that amuse the cats. Just wrap a piece of electrical tape around it every 6 - 8 inches to hold it on well.
I had the same problem, I went with these: https://www.chewy.com/petsafe-slimcat-interactive-cat/dp/48573?utm_source=google-product&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=16078947333&utm_content=PetSafe&utm_term=&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIyOy85PKP-QIV2vbICh3bsga7EAQYASABEgInlvD_BwE
The biggest problem is occasionally having to hunt for them/pull them out from under the bed.
Actually, I have found povidone-iodine solution works the best. Put it on immediately and just let it sit and dry. The scratch will not puff up or get all red. No itching afterward. Just goes away in 6 hours.
You need a cat fountain like this. He will have hours of fun.
Foil also didn't work for us, nor did the sticky tape. Now we have a PetSafe SSSCAT motion-sensing air sprayer that works like a charm.
First time she jumped up on the counter and got sprayed, she kicked the salt shaker clear across the apartment trying to get down. Now we leave it out all the time but only turn it in every few months when she seems like she might try her luck again or if we leave for a while.
https://www.amazon.com/PetSafe-KIT19001-SSSCAT-Spray-Deterrent/dp/B000RIA95G/
You should try an anti-scratch spray
It has probably the best reviews at 4 stars with over 6K reviews (they can be hit or miss if your cat likes the scent of that particular one,) and has a nice lemongrass-y scent many of the reviews (and myself) actually like, so it’s not gonna make your house doesn’t stink either
something like this would work, i don’t know if it’s available in your country but hopefully it gives you a good idea of what i’m talking about! :)
She is gorgeous! If you think she would wear a collar, consider putting one on her and attaching a birdsbesafe ruffle. My cat is allowed in my backyard and was catching chipmunks (none were killed, I rescued them before they were harmed). Once I put a birdsbesafe ruffle around his collar he has not caught any birds or chipmunks. Highly recommend, although the cat will now look like they work in the circus.BirdsbesafeCatCollarCoverhttps://www.amazon.ca/dp/B007I5MFFS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_21H9912QJ2N6CF6AP0D1

It tastes like rotting fish guts soaked in acetone, but it’s non-toxic. It leaves a taste in your mouth for HOURS, so he should very quickly find something else on which to chew haha. Ps, I LOVE Snow Tigers, they are my favorite breed!!! My soul kitty Vinnie was one (he’s my profile pic 🥰).

I have to keep it on 100% of the time though. It was like a homing beacon to my girls when I tried to remove it.

you can put down a mat around the litter box too for reducing tracking.
also the litter in the photo looks a little strange, shiny like glass. maybe if its new the cat needs time to adjust to it.
My cat pees against the back wall of the litter box but we use one with a double lip on the rim so it never leaks out. The one we use:https://smile.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00DC43ZHG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I got THIS for my cat who loves dragging things into his litter box and scratching at walls, may help you n_n
Aww consider spoiling her and purchasing a cat water fountain.
this one is my recommendation
I used to have one of these. They are heavy and if you were to place it in a corner I think it would be very difficult to nearly impossible for your cat to turn over. It is quite pricey however but they are pretty mine was blue. I am disabled and I eventually broke it trying to get it back and forth from the sink. I’ll second this. A hooded box is very necessary, and any will do. Many come with clear flapping doors but my cats hated it and showed their displeasure by peeing right on the side of the box until I took it ok. Jerks.
I would also supplement it with one or two of these. Even when your cat(s) come out of the box, they will still have litter between their toes. I’ve found long/inflexible astroturf works well at both knocking it loose and capturing the litter as it falls out of their paws so they don’t continue to track it around the house. They of course hate the feeling of the astroturf so you have to strategically place it so they have no other option but to walk over it. They’ll get used to the feeling in time.
These two things should catch 90-95% of the litter. Don’t try for 100%. You’ll be fighting that battle like the Germans at Stalingrad. It’s just not gonna happen

Clipping a cat's claws is as common a thing as cleaning their litter box.
It’s a Pop it Fidget Toy. Great way to keep fingers busy and you can make a great out of it too.

Out of the 5+ different companies we've tried so far, this one was probably bottom 2. Hunt a Killer so far has kind of been the Pinnacle of the genre, especially the Nancy Drew standalone $30 box.
My cat would do that too, or try to steal food from the counter. My mom had to get a dome food cover like this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07Y2Y88PS/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_CBVNVZFQH4ECGAWQ7A3P

I own 2, set them for 5:30, haven’t been bothered since.

Omg me too! 😆
I care for the strays and ferals in my neighborhood, and the ones that will let me, I'll put a collar on. I use those reflective ones cause I'm terrified of them getting hit by cars at night.
I buy packs like this every few months.
Every now and then, we'll go outside at night with a flashlight, and round up all the collars they've ripped off. I've actually found a few hanging from tree branches, and it made me so thankful for the breakaway feature!

Not tried it myself, but maybe something like this?
Or possibly the stuff that humans use to make their nails taste bitter so they don't bite them? Definitely check it is non-toxic to cats first though - I imagine it probably would be, seeing as it's designed for people to sometimes get in their mouth, but it's never wise to assume these things.
Good luck!

OP I got these cat shields and they are fantastic! Yes, you won’t have the perfect Instagram ready living room with plastic on it, but my cats now leave it alone
My cat is an asshole like this too! I tried everything…every type of scratcher, sticky tape, positive reinforcement, negative reinforcement, claw caps. Nothing worked. I had all my furniture under blankets and sheets to stop him from destroying it.
Anyway, I finally found these and they changed my life.
They don’t leave holes in the fabric, and your cat can’t get around them. I felt drunk with power watching my little asshole try to scratch the vinyl and look disappointed when he didn’t get results.
For your next couch, I’ve done extensive fabric testing, and the Sunbrella Performance Fabric from Pottery Barn appears to actually be very scratch resistant. I have a performance weave fabric from Bassett that doesn’t show scratching, but it does pill like crazy, so I’m going Sunbrella for my next couch.
You should look into getting a scratch guard.

You're stupid. That's clear. You are literally quoting things I simply have never said. You are either stupid or you don't read before commenting. I never said to feed him salt water or give him grass clippings. I said to give him access to a backyard or some plants, so he can eat some grass. Btw, there's even a few species of grass which are called cat's grass and you can buy them and grow them inside. (Here is a little help for you: https://www.masterclass.com/articles/how-to-grow-cat-grass). Also, I never said to give him salt water. I said to give him salt, water was 100% fruit of your mind. And not every day, just in case he ingests something and you need to make him puke.

I think I have a solution for this. Lay a heating pad on one corner of the bed. The cats will prefer to sleep there. My cat stays by my feet for the most part.
You're gonna need a bigger box. Seriously. That is way undersized. Just don't get the kind that are enclosed. That's the equivalent of us having to use a port-a-poty and no one likes using those.
This is the one my two cats use and they have a field day in there and it doesn't get outside the box.
My cats are messy assholes too, so I bought two of these and we go through way less litter. Easy for two us to clean even with our disabilities and they no longer make messes with litter.
Did my cat get out just to screw up another puzzle?! She looks so much like this beauty and she LOVES sitting right on the puzzle. I was gifted a puzzle holder thing kinda like this and it’s made puzzling so much easier!!
