I tried NordVPN with DCUniverse, and it worked. At first, I was skeptical about it, but it proved it's worth. The speeds are always stable, and it rarely disconnects. I suggest trying this one, they have a lot of servers though probably any VPN that has US servers should work
I did find this one but the $62 price seems pretty high.
The DVD is $31.00.
Note that these are not filled by Amazon but by newtownvideo.ca, which could explain the higher prices (possibly imports?). Not sure why Amazon.ca does not have direct sales, though.
Yes. I’ve had problems these last 2 days. Using NordVPN and VPNunlimited but someone said Express still works.
I don’t understand why they fight VPN access so much as they still get my money. It’s more legit than downloading pirated comics.
Wish they would just launch in Europe & Canada.
Yes. It’s counter intuitive unless an international launch is going to happen.
I have a huge comic collection but I have to pick and choose what I buy in hard copy these days so I have comixology, marvel unlimited, dc universe and Comichaus on the go as well as mainly buying physical collections.
I’m so keen to subscribe legally to infinite in Europe.
I’ve got a 3rd VPN and it’s not working with that either. Ivacy VPN.
I guess I pause my subscription for hopefully just a few months.
I say this every time this question comes up:
I live in the Republic of Ireland and have successfully used DC Universe for over a year using a VPN.
I pay for it from my Paypal, I didn't have to do any weird stuff with credit cards or strange addresses or anything.
All you need to do is Google search "DC Universe Infinite APK", download the app that way (because you won't be able to find it on the Google Store if you're not in America) and use a VPN (I use NordVPN) so that the app thinks you're in America. You will have to manually download a new APK from time to time (once every other month) as they update the app.
The only other bit of fiddliness is that you have to manually allow the app to change your storage permissions (again this is easily done in the app permission settings, at least on Android).
Seriously - until they clamp down on it (they won't), this app is far easier to use abroad than most streaming services (HBO Max will only accept US credit cards, is one example). Just get a VPN and use it that way until they launch internationally.
I'm also using the app on Android tablet outside the US with NordVPN and in the last 2 days every 2-3 pages I get the Pennyworth "oh dear" error page. Clicking retry doesn't do anything. If I force quit the DCU app and start again I get another 2-3 pages and then the same thing again.
It worked flawlessly for the 3-4 months I have the service. Not sure what the problem is.
Well, I definitely don't want to discourage you. I'm in a rural US location with 8Mbps Internet as the best I can get, and have no issues at all streaming DCU. Without an actual number to put beside "Medium" it may be that you can get 10Mbps which should be more than enough for streaming. If it's closer to 1Mbps, then yeah, it makes sense you'd have problems.
Also, as the other commenter said, if you're not able to get the get the latest update automatically, make sure you have it. You can download it from APK Mirror at https://www.apkmirror.com/?post_type=app_release&searchtype=apk&s=dc+universe . It's a trusted source for getting APKs outside of the Play Store.
Good luck!
Not really a remake, but there was a 2016 animated Batman film with Adam West returning as Batman. I enjoyed it a lot.
There is also the Batman '66 comic series that is pretty fun.
Uninstall the Playstore version and try using this: https://apkpure.com/dc-universe-infinite/com.wb.goog.dcuniverse - You will have to check on updates and then download and install the newer apk regulary.
Ah and you would need to download the DC Infinite App as APK package from a alternative repository than the Google Play Store as it won't show up in the Google PlayStore outside of the USA. Just download and install the APK from here: https://apkpure.com/de/dc-universe-infinite/com.wb.goog.dcuniverse
Just got this kindle fire HD 10 and i love it
Just Watch says its on DCU so it’s not licensed elsewhere. WB has it, I guess they just want to limit what’s on the service so people will but it instead.
I'm very confused too.
I've only been a subscriber for a month and haven't had any issues with using ProtonVPN on DC Infinite before at all. It worked seamlessly for the first two to three weeks or so, up until a week ago when I just couldn't (and still can't) load any comics anymore.
From what I can gather from past threads on this subreddit, such widespread issues with VPN access haven't been as prevalent before as they are now either. This leads me to believe that maybe, hopefully, they're actually preparing an international launch of DC Infinite now.
If that's not what's happening behind the screens, that would suck. Like a lot. I do perceive comic books as collector's items and I love to collect volumes from my favourite series, but a student only has that much money, and there are plenty of characters and series I have yet to discover or don't care enough for to excuse the purchase of a physical copy (which can already be quite a hassle to even get my hands on here, in The Netherlands).
So yes, long comment, but I fully agree with you that this is actually only encouraging piracy for DC fans outside of the USA. This rumoured international launch of DC Infinite cannot come soon enough.
Depends what speed you want to have. As comicbook files are small a free tier is sufficient.
I use ProtonVPN I've used both - free and premium and tbh I haven't noticed much difference - as long as you download the book before reading.
I use VPN in general for privacy - circumventing geo restrictions is a nice side effect.
No. You don't need anything more than your email address and payment info. I use Google Pay. When you use a VPN (Virtual Private Network) you can choose a Server in the USA - your internet traffic gets routed through that server - so for DC Infinite it looks like your in the US. I recommend using ProtonVPN - the free Version should suffice as comicbooks have small file sizes. If you want a faster connection you would need a premium account. I usually first connect to VPN, then open up the App and download the stuff I want to read, then disconnect VPN and read in offline mode.
Notes
Lack of Digital First
Modern Mainline
Black Label
Then again I'm pretty sure I'm the only Reggie fan on this planet.
Milestone
As always, I'm so happy DC is sticking with these Milestone uploads. Also I have a good feeling we'll be getting Shadow Cabinet #0 and Xombi #0 since both will be part of the upcoming Milestone Compendium.
Old School
The 1950's Wonder Woman issue is a nice surprise
Batman (1940-2011) #213 is a 58 page Giant-Sized issue 30th Anniversary issue with a collection of stories
Looney Tunes
Question
What's a series that you would want to see be released on DCUI and shelves at the same time?
Another Kindle Tablet user, but I have the 7" version with Google Play sideloaded.
The tablet is pretty slow, unfortunately, but once I get my apps running, including DCU, they work fine.
I also just bought a fusion 5 7" tablet from amazon (https://www.amazon.com/Fusion5-Android-Oreo-Tablet-GPS/dp/B07JJFCPPQ/ref=sr_1_10?keywords=fusion5+7"+tablet&qid=1553359705&s=gateway&sr=8-10). I'm still in teh process of setting it up, so haven't tried DCU specifically, but so far it's done what I've wanted -- basically the same things you're looking for - some media watching + reading. It runs Android Go Oreo, so it's a modern OS built for lower-powered devices.
I reached out to NordVPN support and they sent me a link to an older version of the app and it works fine now.
If anyone interested:
So I noticed the NordVPN app is stuck on the main loading screen after clearing data and cache as well as reinstalling both the NordVPN and DCU app. I also noticed that "Google Connectivity Services" system app has been updated 2 days ago. Might be related. I have a Pixel C tablet running vanilla Android 8.1.
When using Chrome Browser on Win10 with the NordVPN Chrome extension everything works fine.
Not if you only want to get in the writing mind of Morrison. Are you reading them on the DCU app? If you get your hands on book 1 of the grant morrison run it comes with foreword by both him and Tom Peyer which is fantastic in laying the foundation for Morrison's take on Doom Patrol. You can read them here and then click on the preview thumbnail of the book and scrolling passed the table of contents. :D
