Many companies make good leather care products: AMMONYC, Adams, Griot's Garage, etc.
A good interior cleaner plus this brush will do wonders. Then treat with leather care products.

$12 on Amazon. Took off that adhesive in a few min, would have taken me a couple hours or so without it. It was too thick for normal Goo Gone stuff to work and it wouldn’t peal.
It’s this stuff: UHD Polishing Compound.
I already have some I used on my paintwork and was wondering if it could also be used on plastic.
It shouldn’t be damaged. I had silly string spayed on mine and it had stains. I used Autoglym glass polish. Made a few passes over the whole windscreen and then cleaned it down with some glass spray and it got it out. I had to replace the guns for the pressure washers I bought from both Lowes and Home Depot because the ones that came with them leaked pretty bad out of the handles after their first big jobs. I bought the one linked below from Amazon and have done a few big jobs with them and haven't had a problem yet.

This is the only one I've found that works worth a crap. I have an 09 G8 GT that had headlights that were horribly oxidized from the sun. Completely yellow. A few years ago I tried the 3M kit and they looked a bit better, but still left a lot to be desired. After that I tried wetsanding and buffing with mothers aluminum polish that worked better than the 3M kit. Last year I tried the Meguires kit with the small buffing wheel that goes in a drill. Looked like shit after it was done, so I wet sanded it again. Due to the fact that Pontiac has closed up, NOS parts ate tough to find. After market headlight buckets run about $260, each, and wasn't nowhere near what I wanted. Looked around a bit before spending $600 on new lights, and ran across this kit. It comes with 8 oxidization remover pads,4 for each light. It also has a small polishing pad and a few light wet sanding disc's, and 2 pads of the protectorate. It took me maybe 2 hours total to do both headlights and I was absolutely AMAZED at the results. Even after the past 4 attempts at fixing them, they look brand new. It worked better than I could've hoped for. Try this kit bud. There are a few videos on YT about it, and it's hard to fuck it up. Easy as can be.
If you have a good pressure washer (above 2k PSI), I'd buy one of these and spray a lot of degreaser under the car and pressure wash it all off.
No cheapies that I'd recommend. This one works great. Completely worth the cost. I have 3. https://smile.amazon.com/Griots-Garage-Extra-Large-Edgeless-Drying/dp/B07G7DSF7C/ref=psdc_15718721_t2_B01BD5F19A
It's this model, they sell for nearly $300 new so I've been looking for months for a used one. I've done three loads so far and it works great.
That is really not necessary with a new car. TRC did a video on how long you would have to compound an area with a DA to go through the clear and it is like 10 minutes in a single area.
However, if you want to get a paint depth gauge, this is a good one that is relatively inexpensive. It is super easy to use and works great.
This one. Has served me well for over 15 years.
Always start with low abrasive and move up as needed. Start with a polish, then move to something more aggressive if needed. Meguiar's 210 is a popular choice, they also have a great guide on the bottle that shows you how aggressive the polish or compound is. You could do it by hand but having a decent random orbital would be much much easier.
In the future to debadge, heat gun and some dental floss will do the trick with minimal damage. Then use some goo gone or similar to remove adhesive. You will still have to polish after, because the badge was protecting the paint behind it and the paint around it will be swirled and scratched.
Yeah so the mistake was using a drill. I have an $80 da polisher off Amazon that does a decent job removing swirls and it does a good basic polish job. It's definitely a starter tool, it will do the basics and is extremely easy to use, comes with some decent pads. It won't get deep scratches out. For learning and doing the basics, it's not a bad tool at all.

This is the best cleaner on the market. Hands down. I’ve tried 20+ different recommended cleaners and by far this one smashes the rest. I can post a before and after pic if needed
Also a great adhesive remover, I found that 3m spec doesn’t come close to being as effective as citrol.
If you are ever looking for something different, I highly recommend it as a interior safe alternative
Look no further than Citrol!, for anything interior I recommend a 1:1 ratio with distilled water.
Interior safe and environmental friendly, won’t harm you nor the vehicle :)
Chemical gloves. order them a size big and put whatever winter gloves you want underneath. You can go balls deep in the wash bucket and not worry about getting getting wet.
I have the same problem. I want to clean the carpets in the car. Is there a risk of using something like this and not taking the carpets out of the car?
A paint depth gauge is a tool I really need.
Honestly, I haven't bought one because the ones on amazon are under 100$ and have plenty of reviews but I don't think they're very accurate. Was looking for one that costs more and higher quality.
Is there a brand or model that you use?
I thought of this also.
Thanks

This is all I have
I had the same problem on my car, I used Stoner Glass Stripper. It cleaned the hard water marks and other crap on my windows leaving them looking brand new.
This stuff has saved me elbow grease and tons of my time, time and time again! I use a microfiber rag with it and polish it on and off. It's worked for mirrors for me but it's a glass polish!
Yes have wool and microfiber. I've actually been using these no name pads (link). After sandpaper I typically use the wool (then Black for a 2nd application if desired) for compound (use M110 - Ultra Cut), and then the blue for polish.
So you will need to polish it. Hand polishing won't get rid of swirls though, especially if you got a ton of them. You will need a DA polisher with a polishing pad and proper polish.
Like this one.
Is there a specific liquid polish I should use? I saw Chemical Guys V34 that said it's good for 1.5-2k grit, and then their V365 for 2k to 2.5k grit.
I did get this though. Will this be fine?
I hate shiny tires as well. The best thing ive used, hands down, is 3M tire restorer.
Westley's Bleche-Wite and CSI nu tyre lotion. its water based. it
beats meguiars and anything off the shelf. If you do this method, i
expect pics to help spread the knowledge.
If you haven't yet, you could try an enzymatic cleanser designed for biologic odors.
I used to work for a company that did carpet & upholstery cleaning and we used a product called BioBreak for vomit, urine, feces, & such.
You can buy it from Amazon or a local janitorial supply house.
Westley's Bleche-Wite and CSI nu tyre lotion. its water based. it beats meguiars and anything off the shelf. If you do this method, i expect pics to help spread the knowledge.
I'm the same way. I do not like high gloss.
This is what I use: https://www.amazon.com/Meguiars-G7516-Endurance-Tire-Gel/dp/B0009IQXJ0?th=1
Apply with a foam pad/sponge. Let it sit for 10 minutes, then wipe off. It will leave your tires looking flat black. Don't go by product images, they show it super high gloss because they dumped a ton on it and just left it without wiping off.
I stripped it with this stuff https://www.amazon.com/Invisible-Glass-91411-Stripper-Fluid_Ounces/dp/B07YP6Q437
Right on down to the bare glass. The wipers work in that they move the water around but without the hydrophobic coating it kinda spreads the water around and makes the windshield incredibly blurry
Use Sonax Wheel Cleaner Plus
Or the Turtle wax tire cleaner

Spray it on when the tire is wet and let it sit there for a few minutes. Rinse.. Spray on again and start scrubbing.. You might need to rinse, spray, and scrub a few time to get all that off.. Reason why is usually from applying tire shine on a tire that is still technically dirty. Now mix this this with a car that creates a lot of break dust and you get brown tires..
Wouldn't come out with O zone gen, Used Oxi and Bio enzymes but the ozone got everything in the end.
Something like this, Mine is pretty similar.
I use to sell ozone machines that cost 10x this and these commercial ones work great for auto usage.
Clean what you can by hand with water and towels.
Then use an interior cleaner like this one.
Spray liberally, use a strong fabric brush to agitate, vacuum if necessary, then dry/wipe with a towel.
Just to mention, I don't recommend using the plastic agitator/brush that comes with the spray. It's just a pain in the arse to work with. Use your own brush instead.
Invisible glass plus actual window towels, use one side of the towel for wet and go back over with a dry side of the towel after.

Relentless Drive Car Wheel Brush... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08LMJF1K4?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
You're also gonna need wheel acid or iron fallout remover. I prefer wheel acid to do the actual scrubbing and then put fallout remover on after to remove anymore dust. Meguiars wheel brightener is $23 a gallon and dilutes 4:1 and Adam's iron remover is fairly cheap as well. You should use the iron remover on the lower parts of the paint as well (not the acid the iron remover)
Proximity Principle is also good, it's about making connections to make more connections and get closer to people that can make things happen. https://www.amazon.com/Proximity-Principle-Proven-Strategy-Career/dp/0978562038
Ozone is not as good as people say.
Use a chlorine dioxide car bomb. Buy it off of amazon or locally. Easy and cheap fix.

Like others mentioned above P&S Brake buster is a fantastic product to use and it does not smell too bad compared to other products
And get yourself a WoollyWormit (I will link down below), it is safe on tires and it can clean behind the wheel's rims. No point in just cleaning the outside rims and not cleaning the inside of it. The dust and dirt would just fling back and make your rims look dirty again.

This is probably your most accurate comment.
I recently did a 60 hour detailing job on my 1949 Ford and if i used too much product that hazing would come through. It's important to use small amounts of product and to work it until it's clear. If it's cakey or filmy, it's too much. When you 're doing using a polisher on the working area, you should have almost nothing to wipe off. Clean your pads after every 2 sections with an air compressor.
To get rid of the hazing, repolish it with a SMALL amount of polish. Work it in well. Do 6 laterial passes and 6 horizontal passes alternating between the two to reduce heat. I use MEguiar's Ultimate Compound and M205. Single stage paint i use Meguiar's #7 Show Car Glaze after wash > dry > clay.
Sounds like the Paint is single-stage, If you need to start over follow this list order:
Make sure you use a new clean towel for each step - i go through about 20-25 towels.
This is what I was looking for, I was trying to avoid buying 10 filters and changing them regularly.
When it comes to detailing there’s a lot of fluff out there. Tons of products that are repackaged other products which chemical guys love to do. They add a scent and different color to a basic compound and call it head light restorer for example.
Light is crucial you can get that on Amazon for a decent price you can line your whole garage in lights for less than $100 if you wanted. But as for a true pocket light that won’t break the bank I like this one.
Use the cerakote ceramic headlight restoration kit. $16 and stupid easy. Has everything you need in it and I've had great results when I did mine. Would highly recommend before trying to replace them.
Yes, I used 3M’s clear coat protection. Two coats. Should be good for some time.
I Kärcher it once to get rough dirt away, then foam spray woth Kärcher car soap, then rub with the below mitt (in circles I admit), then I dry with the cloth from second link.
Other than the direction of rubbing, anything else wrong with that routine?

Just bought this kit, hope it’s not junk. Maybe should’ve asked first lol. I can cancel if it’s bad
Looks like it just needs a proper clean/degreasing. My all time favorite is from Adams. It's their tire and rubber cleaner. Not the tire and wheel cleaner but specifically the tire and rubber cleaner.
Adam's Tire & Rubber Cleaner (16 oz) - Removes Discoloration From Tires Quickly - Works Great on Tires, Rubber & Plastic Trim, and Rubber Floor Mats https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076XSMN9W/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_QY3Z0QRTDAXHZTP2GYWJ?psc=1
It uses a little bit of citrus oil to break down all the gunk on tires. I've tried more degreasers and wheel and tire cleaners than I care to count and nothing does it like Adams.
Take it a step further and apply a good tire shine after cleaning and drying fully. I've had great luck with Chemical Guys VRP lately, looks amazing but wish it lasted longer. Carpro Perl is another great one. For a longer lasting, super shiny look, I recommend Meguairs Endurance Tire Gel.
Tires naturally turn a bit brown on the edge due to containing a chemical that prevents drying and cracking. If tires didn't have this chemical they wouldn't last nearly as long, but it's something that can be managed with cleaning and dressing/tire shine.
I commented already but this is a good starter kit with decent products. Not a huge fan of chemical guys but this kit in my opinion is a great starter kit Chemical Guys HOL126 14-Piece Arsenal Builder Car Wash Kit with Foam Gun, Bucket and (5) 16 oz Car Care Cleaning Chemicals (Works w/Garden Hose) , White https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FTRZLM5/ref=cm_sw_r_awdo_0VR68ZYM4DEKF92Z9A7E
I take these off for my clients sometimes. I use a Rubber Wheel Eraser with my drill, and then quickly buff it off with a da polisher. Works amazing and looks like nothing was there before.

For carpet, start as dry as possible. Use your drill brush, a vacuum, and a scraper to get as much out as possible. If your vacuum has a blow port, it might help to blow dirt/sand/debris out as well. If you have the budget for a steamer, I suggest getting one. You can get a decent steamer for around $80-150 depending on model/brand. (Mccullochs are good!) when treating stains/first, remember the acronym CHAT- Chemical, Heat, Agitation, & Time. Spray your chemicals down, let them dwell, agitate spots that need it, and use your steamer to further break up tough stains. When finished, vacuum and/or wipe up what’s left.

IME it comes down to two main things. Clean rags and good glass cleaner.
Sprayway foaming glass cleaner isn't bad but Stoner Invisible Glass is better ime (ammonia free on both).
If there's any residue in your rags they will create streaks (generally speaking). Clean rags are key.
As for the area between the dash and windshield I just get acrobatic with it but they make tools that are pretty effective and cheap.
That sucks dude. I haven't used it personally but I've seen people in this sub recommend clear plastic cleaners like this

Are you using an actual drying towel or the small MF towels? If you're looking for a good drying towel I would definitely recommend RC's liquid8r for $20. Love it, dries in a pass, and will easily dry a car or two.
I add this to loads of MF on top of clean and clear detergent.
https://www.amazon.com/Micro-Restore-Microfiber-Detergent-Concentrate-32oz/dp/B0002SPBXQ
That said, I do still slowly work through a spray bottle of Griot's MF cleaner for pads. You say your pads don't become completely clean; how are you cleaning them? For pads specifically, I spray them to saturate and then agitate under warm water in the sink until they are clean. Are you just throwing them in the wash, or are you saying that even after agitating, detergent alone won't get stuff out of your pads?
It’s a little expensive but it’s the best stuff I’ve ever used, way more effective than goo gone and doesn’t hurt finished surfaces.

You can get the eraser wheel at a number of different places. I got mine from Amazon.

Oh girl, you know more than 99% of the dufuses on here that want to detail cars. Just do it!
I'd just start spreading the word however you can. Get some basic business cards at first and hand them out to anyone that will talk to you. I'd get a free website (I use carrd.co) and start a google my business page. If you are in a decent sized city, you'll start getting calls pretty quick. ANSWER THE PHONE, AND RETURN MISSED CALLS ASAP. this is what most people don't do. Do this and you'll be busy quickly. Keep your GMB page up to date and post pictures to it often and you'll move up the Google rankings quickly.
Get in touch with people you know that own multiple cars, and the people that know a lot of other people. Impress them and they will talk about you, especially if they are social and outgoing. Do good work for reasonable rates (not free!) and people will feel taken care of. That will get them to come back to you.
Feel free to DM me any time.

These are what I use saw a guy who did a review and they really good at releasing dirt. Mainly because there a 70/30 blend
DuPont or Duplicolor are go to for me. If it's a basic color sometimes you can hit up your local collision shops and see if they have any of your color mixed from a repaint. You'll just need your paint code, gonna need that anyway if you want any color paint. If your just doing clear coat they should have that readily available. If you get lucky they may just give you a small bottle or they may charge you a couple bucks. I suggest getting a fine tip brush, link below, to apply. The brush they give you in the touchup are usually too big. You'll want to dab it in the area not brush it on. In a pinch you can also just use a toothpick. If it's on a horizontal surface dab from top to bottom as the clear/paint will follow gravity. Several small layers are the best so you don't get a globby runny mess. If you have a local auto parts store they usually carry clear coat as well, like AutoZone, Advanced Auto, Pep Boys sometimes even WalMart. Local craft stores will also have single fine tip brushes you can buy. Just make sure the brush has a pointed fine tip. Good luck!

Spray a bug/tar or APC liberally and let dwell for about 2-4 minutes (if in direct sunlight or warm day keep an eye to make sure it doesn’t dry). I found some game changing brushes for intricate grilles - brand is Vikan and they are a bit pricey but well worth it. Makes cleaning the front a breeze. I also use them on wheels and other intricate areas. link
Depends on the area. Doors and trunks should be opened slightly to make all areas easily accessible and not damage other areas. They do sell special bars to prop the door or trunk and hold it in place, so it won't open or close, like This One or you could make a similar one yourself. Before I got one I was using a wire coat hanger. I cut and reshaped it with a pair of needle nose pliers.
Besides that, 1 or 2 inch pads are great for tight spots, but when it comes to areas like where your trunk meets the bumper, you still risk scraping adjacent areas. They're good to have on hand though if you detail professionally. The set SPTA sells on Amazon is pretty good.. comes with 1", 2", and 3" in foam, microfiber, long wool, short wool, and purple blended wool for only like $20... Rupes is the only other company I know to make quality pads in 1" and 2", but they're also way more expensive... It's rare I need them tho so I stick with the SPTA and other cheap brands, they do last a while.

👍 when you have to re-do that one, you may want to look at this if you're hesitant on the 2k spray... If you want a long lasting solution (if properly prepped), not just a coating that will eventually wear off or need reapplied, then you'll have to mask off the front end of the car and buy yourself a 3m respirator with proper filter & a can of 2K clear and spray them with a couple coats. You don't want to breathe this stuff.

Look into investing in something like a Bissell spot clean extractor. I have two of them that are the same so when I'm doing a full vehicle I have two tanks before I need to empty the dirty side and fill the clean side. Even without that I've shampooed entire vehicles with one spot clean machine with really good results.

This is the machine I use. It's $175. Been using it for a few years with no issues but I do wish the hose was longer.
Looks like the same cheapie one I use. Change out the nozzle. World of difference. https://www.amazon.com/Hotop-Pieces-Cannon-Orifice-Universal/dp/B086C3QGWQ/ref=sr_1_4?gclid=Cj0KCQiA5OuNBhCRARIsACgaiqXvsD9QVY4q0APCu8dSUfMqMd-yoKAdflCZpF_kHabcfE5Jj9P020QaAnGPEALw_wcB&hvadid=233999964230&hvdev=c&hvlocphy=9032061&hvnetw=g&hvqmt=e&hvrand=1877659390258698424&hvtargid=kwd-386820822415&hydadcr=24657_9648987&keywords=foam%2Bcannon%2Bnozzle&qid=1639700363&sr=8-4&th=1 (Doesn't have to be this one, just something like this).
Solution Finish is a restorer, almost like repainting it. I’ve seen lots of videos on it, and it seems to be well regarded as a permanent restoration instead of a temporary dressing. I asked for some for Christmas.

This stuff is the cat's ass for removing water stains as well as a wide variety of bonded contaminants. Takes a fair bit of elbow grease, but it works.
I run an auto glass shop, this stuff does a lot of heavy lifting for us.
I use a Sun Joe. It’s not great but definitely good enough. I did have to order an extension hose to get around each car in one continuous circle. I also upgraded a few fittings based on comments on other detailing sites.

I checked out your IG and it looks good. Do you have a Google My Business page setup? Do you have a free, simple website? (try carrd.co, they are absolutely free). Are you on Nextdoor? Go claim your business there. Have you placed any craigslist ads? All of these things are pretty simple, and they just get your name out there, so that when people look for detailers near you, they can easily find you.
Being mobile is actually quite easy. you can do it out of a small sedan, many guys do it (I did for a couple years).
Order yourself a cheap drop/dump pouch from Amazon. It's a molle style pouch you can attach to your belt. It folds up into a small square that you can unbuckle it to open it up into a large pouch. I ordered a 2 pack on Amazon for like $15. They're perfect for holding 2 to 4 DA pads depending on the size, two 24oz bottles, or a bunch of towels. Some have more pockets then just the big one. I ordered these in black. The two of them totally replaced my normal bulky tool belt.
Would a non scratch sponge help? Im asking?

I use something like this but I wrapped the scraper part in a microfiber towel. I think I got the idea from Larry Kosilla's AMMO NYC YouTube channel.
I just ordered some clay so I’ll give that a shot first. Thanks for all the input.

I use these.
They make special cleaners for cleaning screens.
Spray a cleaner like this (or just a little mist of warm water) on the screen. Follow up by wiping in straight back and forth motions (like a hashtag). Finally, buff the leftover streaks off with the dry side of your towel (flip it over).
Repeat if necessary.
