no. the visual studio is an ide prepared for development with the plugins already installed for a programming language, unlike the visual studio code that you have to download and configure the plugins. https://visualstudio.microsoft.com/es/
Lately i decided to learn some alternative and decided to switch to EndeavourOS with SwayWM. I use sway for 6 months now. I love it. It needs quite a bit tinkering and love as it's not really a DE, but result really pleases me. It's light, fast and I really like how SwayWM works and can be configured. I prefer configuration through files than ui as it's faster. It prioritizes using keyboard shortcuts above mouse and I was afraid how it will work, but it's really good and comfy for me. Much healthier for my hands and wrists.
Sway flavor is community edition and still may be buggy from time to time. I don't have much exp with tiling window managers, but if you want official flavor you can choose i3.
As I understand SwayWM is a fork of i3 and moving from i3 to swayWM is as easy as copying config files to it, so later transition should be easy.
I completely changed config of default flavor though, using some ideas from default configs.
If you like playing with configuration, you can/want to write some shell scripts from time to time then you can try it.
how did you flash it?
i prefer linux dd command, like this: (sudo) dd if=/path/file of=/dev/sd(x) bs=4k status=progress && sync
but... rufus should do it i think; i've had good luck with them; idk if unetbootin still works but i used that for a long time; finally i just got over using windows entirely
you can buy a cd/dvd with the iso already burned on it; burning to cd/dvd requires nothing but windows itself i think (? i've forgotten; i'm pretty sure it's a built in feature, like right click and select burn iso)
but if all else fails i have a copy of debian 7 on dvd somewhere
once upon a time i would buy the debian repo on dvd from ebay seller XYZ ;#)
well, actually it's the dvd installer plus other dvds that together make up the entire repo; it was 6 or 7 over a decade ago; i wonder how big it is now
i seem to recall using something other than rufus recently (quit windows for good recently)
I've heard this one mentioned favorably: balenaEtcher
<code>https://alternativeto.net/software/rufus/</code>
i used this one: LinuxLive USB Creator (for windows), and it was just fine
.
[i've been in the situation of having to pull out the old laptop to download and burn an iso, rather than resorting to the debian 7 dvd; 2nd computer, nice; even if old]
Ah gotcha. Have you tried the steps from their website?
https://protonvpn.com/support/official-linux-client-arch/
There is a part in there talking about the system tray icon. Is that the piece you are missing? I am sorry, I have never used ProtonVPN. Hope this helps you out some though.
Hello again. So I tried converting the png into an .ico file and the quality seems to have improved on my side; would you mind giving it a try to see whether it's good enough?

I've been having bluetooth issues on Endeavour as well. So I've been using an Avantree dg80 dongle which doesn't require any drivers but you can only pair 2 devices with it I belive.

Hey, thx!

There is a typo sha512sum -c Endeavouros_Atlantis-21_4.iso.sha512sum
instead of sha512sum -c EndeavourOS_Atlantis-21_4.iso.sha512sum
on https://endeavouros.com/latest-release/
and all subsequent mentions as well
Did you see which GPU was being used? If it was using NVIDIA or switching automatically, Bumblebee was probably not necessary.
Either way, the new EndeavourOS ISO seems to be on the horizon
https://endeavouros.com/news/our-iso-refresh-is-coming-soon/
Maybe its improvements can solve it? Will probably try to troubleshoot more after some sleep.
I'm trying to install this snap
$ sudo snap install snap-store
it says its installed then after launching it as u can see in the SS nothing's loading there, cannot install or remove anything from there.
also tried $ sudo snap run snap-store
you can see the getting some error in SS and won't open from there
Welcome to the Community!
To check nvidia driver is installed, alternative ways:
pacman -Qs nvidia
yay -Qs nvidia
To see which driver is actually in use:
lsmod | grep nvidia
The Offical Wiki May Help : https://endeavouros.com/docs/hardware-and-network/graphic-cards-gpu-driver-and-setup/nvidia/nvidia-optional-enhancements-and-troubleshooting/
As well as this forum post : https://forum.endeavouros.com/t/how-to-enable-nvidia-driver/12336/13
Sorry I don't really know much about nVida but maybe these will help? Some more experienced people will hop along in a bit!
Hi !

Welcome..:)

Endeavouros is a different league then manjaro offcourse. As also a dual gpu setting can be tricky on somepoint.

There is also many options to choose this time around. in the past need bumblebeed but now there is more since kernel supports switching a bit but there are many options around also.

Optimus Manager you have to take it from the aur, only thing is you have to keep an eye on python versions, because optimus manager needs then to rebuild. like rebuild-detector from te aur can help.

system76-power is the switcher from system76 also things as nvidia-prime. Myself dont have a switching gpu but is not like manjaro but there is a wiki page for that also .

For newer system i would look to the optimus manager.

I can't help much with issue "B", but I believe "A" is fairly straight forward.
I've gotten a case of 404s on a occasion. These occur when an update is not completely propagated to all the mirrors.
A good solution is to update your mirrorlist using an program called "reflector".
A better solution is to automate the reflector process. This article describes how that is done.
