The gold edition is 75% off at Greenman Gaming at the moment.
Or, if you rather get it from the Humble Store, it is 70% off there. That is just the base game though, but the DLC is also 70% off. Strangely the gold edition is full price.
Both of these will give you a Steam key.
But you should definitely pick it up for this price. According to Steam I have played it for 157 hours, so yeah absolutely worth it.
1.4.2 came out in like 2013. I assume you have a retail version of the game? If so you can update it on the official website. Or use your activation key on Steam to get updates automatically.
Are you sure that's ETS 2? I just recently saw an announcement on Steam for 1.20:

EDIT: Even the official website is behind a version: http://www.eurotrucksimulator2.com/update.php - they show 1.19.2.1
I would say get the Steam copy. It's a bit cheaper on the Humble store right now though during sales it goes VERY cheap, so honestly I would say to wait if you can.
Works good for me. One hand on the wheel and one on a mouse to look, turn signals, cruise control as well being a naga I can set the number to other things like lights, wipers, map controls etc...

Steam key, if you are not connected to the internet when you load steam, you can choose "offline mode" any game you have installed will be available to you, so long as it doesn't require an internet connection.
Check C:/Users/ and see if your old windows user profile is still there.
[old windows user account]/My documents/Euro Truck Simulator 2/Profiles
transfer them to
[new windows user account]/My documents/Euro Truck Simulator 2/Profiles
If you can't find it, search for Euro Truck on your PC with Everything and look at the paths.
I can't help you with installations through steam.
actually, there is one thing I would like - skilled parking, graphics doesnt need to be top notch
Just have more options - Semi trucks, rigid trucks, tandems...
something like this, just with trucks and bit more realistic scenarios, mainly docking.
I would love to see score not based on time, but precision. Time limit could be like in ETS2, normal, important and urgent, each having smaller time limit, but higher rewards and reward itself by precision, something like beat saber scoring system, judge it based on how centered you are and how staight the trailer is.
I would enjoy something like this
I hope you're being sarcastic, but I honestly can't tell.
The first image is a Steam Trading Card for ETS 2. The fourth image is the icon for the "Euro Truck Extreme - Driver 2019" mobile game. The other three are at least screenshots of ETS 2, and the #imtheboss Renault does look quite good whereas the second and final pics are mediocre IMO.
When I bought this it was only around $30. I'm not sure why the price has gone up so much, it's a pretty simple wheel but I've had a good experience with it.
No im using a G27 steering wheel and a TrackIR 5 with a pro clip
