Hey you can use this instead of simhub: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.stryder_it.simdashboard
I was thinking of buying a monitor but then thought of svaing up for a VR headset, is it worth it ?
'I dont' care about a 90° angle, nobody ever uses it'. Ok, I used it everytime I used SIM Dashboard while playing ETS2. Please don't speak for everyone. This comment of yours was somewhat offensive.
I would like to clarify my words about build quality: I had no intention to say that all XD+ have worse d-pads neither all XD+ have better hinges. I wanted to say that quality is somewhat the same. It may vary, but in average I suppose it is not perfect. I heard people complaining about original XD's d-pads, but mine is perfect. I just wanted to say, that when you order the console (XD or XD+) you can never be sure about assembly quality.
About HDMI output being shut down when the lid is closed: nope, original XD just turned the internal display off while HDMI output still on.
About RetroArch: ok, if you don't like it - don't use it. I mentioned it just for testing the audio latency. See, A2DP doesn't care which application do you use. So the results would be the same for all other emulators and games (at least they would be no better).
Its an app I have called SIM Dashboard. I pull it up on my phone and open the program on my computer, it detects what I'm playing and switches to that profile automatically in the app. You can customize it as much as you want(if you have the paid version). You can ad gauges, warning lights, buttons that you can program, game information ect. Here is a screen shot of the one I set up.

This one is pretty versatile. I am pretty sure it works with consoles if you make it. It's easy to set up on PC and it auto detects games so you can change between them easily. The free version limits you to 3 widgets, if you want more you can unlock premium for each game, or unlock the whole thing.
SIM Dashboard is AWESOME!!

I've used all of those listed but SIM Dashboard is the best for me.
I use a wheel and a tablet with Sim Dashboard.
Could easily be used with only 1 hand, I don't need the keyboard at all. The dashboard does need some work to set it up to your liking though.
I have been also using an Android tablet with the Sim Dashboard app

That can be used as dashboard and button panel at the same time. Obviously doesn't have the nice feeling of the stream deck, but can be a potential "free" upgrade if you already have a tablet laying around.
Now that I have a more powerful GPU I play mainly in VR, but back then when I used to play "pancake", was a great add-on.
If you're on Android - Download 'Sim Dashboard' - I use it for Assetto corsa & Forza horizon. It will support F1 21 aswell.
You can create multiple dashboards and assign a key on your wheel to cycle between them. Amazing app and I highly recommend it.

Thats for android, not sure if its on app store. Do note the free version is quite limiting as you can only have 3 pieces of info at once. But you can customize the layout however you like
I used to use it to track time gap between driver infront/behind
The dash is a 6 inch phone with the Sim Dashboard app its perfect. I made a little holder for the phone that is connected to the wheel base.
Yes! There's an app called Sim Dashboard it works with PC, Xbox One, and PS4. There's some setup required but it lets you create custom dashboards. Be advised though, it doesn't support all games. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.stryder_it.simdashboard
there this on android that looks pretty well reviewed. this is the website. Too bad I only play GT Sport for now and it's not supported.
Update - There is now another app that supports this. It was just updated yesterday. I have not tested it yet personally, give it a shot. Sim Dashboard

Could be SIM Dashboard.
My setup:
- Wheel + pedals, for driving obviously.. :)
Has all driving related mapping, lights, beacon, turn signals, wipers, engine start, connecting/disconnecting equipment, radio controls, ..
- Joystick for forklift, telehandler, cranes and similar, camera and on foot character movement.
- Tablet (with Sim Dashboard) as button box, map anything on here that you can can't map to the wheel.
I don't need my keyboard at all while playing, everything is within easy reach.
