As an off-topic aside, I noticed you seem to have an unlicensed copy of winrar.
All memes and joking aside, you should be aware that 7-zip is an open-source alternative that's every bit as good or better than winzip and winrar. However, it's completely free and unrestricted. It's able to unpack pretty much all formats as well as create zip, 7z, tar, and wim archives.
The minimal system requirements are as follows:
> * 64-bit Windows 7, Windows 8 or Windows 10 > * Intel Core i3-2100T @ 2.5GHz or AMD FX-4100 @3.6 GHz > * Nvidia Geforce GTX 650, AMD Radeon HD 7770 graphics card or better (min. 2 GB VRAM, DX11 support) > * 4 GB RAM > * 20 GB free hard drive space > * Soundcard > * DVD-ROM Drive (only for retail version)
But those are just the minimal system requirements that'll run the game.
You could likely get a very cheap gaming PC prebuilt using old hardware for around maybe 400$ to 600$ USD.
As an example (one of the first results for "cheap gaming PC" off of Amazon) of a pretty inexpensive choice: https://smile.amazon.com/Desktop-Computer-Genesis-3-30ghz-Geforce/dp/B08H9TJYP1/
If you are looking to run the game at more than the minimal specifications, you'll want to go with something decently more modern.
More modern means more expensive however, so expect to have to spend a decent bit more in that case to get more modern hardware.
As an example (one of the first results for "gaming PC" off of Amazon and filtering between 750$ and 1,250$) of something that should be able to play the game at much higher quality: https://smile.amazon.com/HP-Pavilion-Computer-Processor-Keyboard/dp/B08Z5C9TF1/
You could spend even more than that easily and play the game on some extremely high settings and whatnot, however it is likely not very cost effective to go beyond this point (at least until the PC gaming bug really gets you and you cannot help yourself).
But if you already have a PC, then it is likely worth trying to play on it first and see how it handles. It won't hurt anything if you're already set on getting the PC version.
Good farming!
I actually bought a cheap universal controller from Amazon. Outside of some issues remapping the buttons, the joystick part works great
I deliberately stayed away from automation mods. Primarily because we play on a dedicated server so we have more hands to do the work. For now we just use the Helpers to assist on the fields if/when needed. Otherwise we do everything ourselves.
If I was playing solo then automation mods might be more interesting since it's hard to get everything done solo after you reach a certain point.
However, I enjoy playing the game and don't want to set everything up until it becomes ProgressQuest
I've been keeping an eye out for similar things.
Closest that seems to exist (that I've tried to use for some games on my low-resources machine) is https://github.com/opsengine/cpulimit. It takes some experimenting to try to find a balance between intolerable-fps-stuttering and crazy-fan-speed.
Haven't tested it specifically with Farming Simulator, but I imagine it would work the same. YMMV.
xml files and lua scripting files (afaik, i dont do any scripting) only need notepad to open them and see the code. Notepad++ works great for this. You already have giants editor, it's in the install directory of the game in the SDK folder along with other goodies. It'll likely need to be updated which you get here after you make an account.
As other said the only way it's by modifying savegame files. You can find them under Documents/My Games/FarmingSimulator17/savegame"X"; you're looking for economy.xml and careerSavegame.xml
In economy.xml you'll find a "fieldOwnership" section, you just need to change the <ownedByPlayer=[...]> from true to false for each field you want to sell
To have your money back you have to change the <money> parameter under the "statistics" section in careerSavegame.xml. You can find here the list with the base price for each field; if you don't want to give yourself extra money just remember to subtract 20% of the price if you bought them with the maximum discount possible
Just a note: while you can modify the files using notepad it's way better and easier to do so by using Notepad++ (you can find it here)
Seems pretty legit to me, german amazon also has it, but with a different date.
I've got an Asus FX504 https://www.amazon.com/8th-Gen-i5-8300H-GeForce-FireCuda-Windows/dp/B07BP9QG2J,
and it does the job spectacularly. It's 200 more on Amazon, but you might be able to find it cheaper / stretch the budget.

Good luck with your purchase!
700 is on the short side but you could take a look at this config. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BG9FGMP4/ref=sspa_mb_hqp_detail_mobile_aax_0?ie=UTF8&psc=1&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9ocXBfcGhvbmVfc2hhcmVk&th=1
If you can find something simular then you should be settled for FS22. And if it is an option you could consider a gaming pc. They are more powerfull for the same budget. But you have to invest in a monitor and keyboard etc.
alternatively, you could always go the Zero Delay USB encoder that is a near brainless setup, but limits configuration of your custom buttons to being interpreted as joystick buttons only.
https://www.amazon.com/Reyann-Arcade-Encoder-Joystick-Fighting/dp/B00UUROWWK/
the Arduino Teensy lets you configure the inputs as anything, including macros, keyboard, and joystick buttons. the only drawback is that you must write the code for that customization to happen. i have no idea what your skill set is.
Allow me to introduce you to this little guy.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MBXWX1C/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_GXZNVBFTC8D5DXBMXVR9?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 The official pedal set. Barring that get the cheapest wheel you can buy for an Xbox and then the side panel https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07QZVT1DJ/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_5WR0XNXND3YE27XC8CK2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I would expect the switch to act the same as holding down a key in that situation.
Nice think about the Arduino setup would be you could simply add a switch/button to turn the lights off or even tie them into the lighting switches that are directed to the sim. since its mostly just programing aside from a few wires.
I have a mega 2560v3 and the 12 input joystick control board (Amazon Canada link) sitting here for me to get busy and build into something just haven't found the motivation lol.
I like ultrawides a lot better then the superultrawides.
If you dont care about colors that much I have a Monoprice Darkmater 34" 3440x1440 144hz that I got for $350 on sale (its $500 right now)
https://www.amazon.com/Matter-Monoprice-Curved-Ultrawide-Monitor/dp/B088LX5K32
I used to have a LG IPS ultrawide and it had much better colors so if you want to do any editing I highly recommend an IPS over a TN or VA panel
It runs great on my Xbox one s but I can't get the "Big Bud" tractor mod yet!!! Get a steering wheel it changes the whole dynamic! Amazon has a cheap one for $50
Superdrive - Racing Steering... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B089KP9JJS?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Inside the data folder in the game files there's a folder called music with a file called menu.ogg in it. You can download any song you want and convert that to ogg (numerous tools out there, I used this one https://convertio.co/mp3-ogg/), once you've converted it you can place it inside the music folder named as menu.ogg, upon boot you'll be greeted by your song!
There is no official Linux support for farm sim.
You may be able to hack it to get it to work. It is a directx game, so it shouldn’t be that hard to make it run.
Lutris seems to say it will run with proton just fine. Take that with a grain of salt though. https://lutris.net/games/farming-simulator-19/
Display Fusion is a great tool if you use multiple monitors. You can define different wallpapers, set up keybinds to move and resize windows, and force some programs to open up their windows at specific locations on specific monitors. (Not every program allows this.)
You can try it for free for 30-days. I own it but currently don't have a multi-monitor setup, so I can't test it with FS right now.
I think it is hard to find. The only thing I could find about this is a mod review
It has one comment, but I do not have an account to read it. Maybe it has the modlink?
You want to make one, right ? It shouldn't be that hard with any USB microcontroller.
If someone is willing to, make some captures with a sniffer like http://www.usblyzer.com/
For the editing, get Notepad++, it's free and will save in any format you want and has a nice formatting that will make it easier to find stuff you want. Also the search function is way more powerful.
For the saving part, it depends, if you use something like 7-zip (free again) then you can double click the XML file inside without unzipping, it will open in Notepad++, make your changes, click save and once you exit the Notepad++ program, 7-zip will ask you if you want to overwrite the old file with the new changes you made, select yes and it's done.
Another way would be to unzip all the file, make your changes then re-zip all files, making sure you're zipping only the files and not a folder. Basically when you open the zip you should see a "modDesc.xml" file amongst others.
Look at that,, ut was the first thing that came up on Google. Logitech G Extreme 3D Pro Joystick for Windows - Black/Silver https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00009OY9U/ref=cm_sw_r_awdo_navT_g_XJJV5S9RAM4T21MPTBJF
I'm using a simple tablet mount that I snuck under the top lip of the sim panel and then just tightened it down to hold it in place. Here is a link on Amazon if your interested! tablet mount
In your Windows Explorer, top ribbon, "View", activate "File name extensions" checkbox. Check the file extension. Also, get 7zip, it will unpack the most common formats.
Yes you can add RL radio stations to the game if you want with those links. U just have to edit xml file with Notepad++ or something similar. Ther is readme in folder with xml whole operation is really simple u have to just copy and paste link.
"It runs FS19 fine."
Wait... Are you trying to run 19 or 22?
No one said at any point that these would have the same requirements.
I got a ti83 graphing calculator. By your logic - "runs old game=should run new game" - The calculator should run doom eternal. However, we both know that's not the case. I'm going to hope you've learned a lesson here: Check requirements for each game individually. Don't assume that running one game equates running another.
Anyways, Here;
Used, so lower price, and fits minimum requirements listed on steam.
Also, check this one out;
It will fit in thin cases, requires only a single expansion slot on the case, and can run entirely off the power provided by the motherboard's slot, so if your power supply doesn't have a PCIe power cable, it can still run. OEM PCs - That is, premanufactured systems from big brands like Dell, HP, and their ilk - are the primary culprits for using integrated GPUs, as most low-end customers won't build a custom system, and I assume, as such, that your PC is not a hand-built system, so having a PCIe power cable is unlikely. Thus, the second option is more likely to be compatible. Only problem is it's pricier. Probably faster, though.
That said, the system as a whole is oooolllddd, so a better choice might be to shelve the game and buy a gaming PC from a boutique builder, or if nothing else, grab an Acer Predator, or an Omen from HP. Alienware is subpar, yet carries a premium price, and Asus are monsters with a price to match.
Maybe even grab something on Ebay?
I use a wheel and a tablet with Sim Dashboard.
Could easily be used with only 1 hand, I don't need the keyboard at all. The dashboard does need some work to set it up to your liking though.
I got a slightly older version of this, mines only a 1060 and not a 2060. Wasn't cheap but it never gives me any issues
ASUS ROG Strix G17 G712LV-H7007T - Gaming Laptop 17.3" FHD 120Hz (i7-10750H, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD, GeForce RTX2060 6GB GDDR6, Windows 10 Home) Black Original https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08BTQ1MQK/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_B7Z66GTFMH9A13K4JX7S?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
My only advice is make sure it is a dedicated gaming laptop, not just a high performance standard one, as the cooling tends to be a lot better on gaming
I didn't get mine all set up, because I think it was writing over the controller bindings instead of just sharing them. But I was thinking about trying this xb360ce software that I guess makes the joystick think it's a controller? http://www.x360ce.com
Currently £15.69 on Instant Gaming
I've used them a few times, mainly for FFXIV timecards but I got Cities: Skylines from them (Steam key), never had an issue.
Got an affiliate link too, if you want to help me make a few quid! ;)
u/mistersnartypants it looks like your potato masher may be crushing its last spud under it's current configuration sadly. https://www.msi.com/page/afterburner try installing this and see about finding your GPU's memory usage and your frame timings. If you have a second monitor you can use Task manager to view how muhc mrmory your GPU is using as well under the performance tab while running it under "more details" and the performance tab with your GPU selected.
If you are using more than 4gb of memory on a 970 then you are running into an old issue that the 970 had, which was the fact it had 3.5 gb of Fast memory, and an extra 512mb of slower memory. https://www.pcper.com/news/Graphics-Cards/NVIDIA-Responds-GTX-970-35GB-Memory-Issue
Now, if it isn't the GPU running out of memory then it might be a frame timing issue (that's why we have Afterburner running) see about getting the overlay to display frame TIMINGS and if it's jumping all over the place (Seeing sudden spikes to over 100ms) then that's another issue altogether and r/pcmasterrace or other such subRs should be able to help you further diagnose the issue. Though as always, take their advice with a grain of salt. Feel free to take mine with a fist-full for good measure.
I could have sworn I've seen a sponsor for Linus tech tips being a software that allows for things like mouse sharing between multiple machines on multiple OSs. Guess I'll go and find a video they sponsored and check what it's called.
Edit: It's called Synergy https://symless.com/synergy
You could use web torrents. Zip up the mods and upload them on instant. Give your friends the link and you'll seed the files to them.
Probably a overblown solution but it is an idea.
Make a torrent and seed it to them. Baring that https://www.sharedrop.io/ Though it can be a bit goofy. 3rd option is to break your huge mod folder up into chunks, zip them, and then start making Gmail accounts to load them into. 2-3 accounts should do it.
Field Owndership is in the "economy.xml" of your game save folder - its very simple to edit by switching "ownedByPlayer" to "true" for the field numbers you want
Money is in the "careerSavegame.xml" Just hit ctrl-F and search "money"
You may also want to zero out your <newVehiclesCost>, <soldVehicles> under the financeStatsHitory if you want your stats to look like a fresh game save. I like to create a new save on the same map and copy/paste that section into my new edited game save. Also, i REALLY reccomend using notepad++ for editing xml files. Its color coded and has keeps the formatting nice and tidy and easy to read. Oh, and it's completely free!
As a "noob" to those wheels, I suggest you buy a new wheel/pedals for your son. Used sets can have many problems, worn out cogwheels are a very common problem with older wheels. And as a first time buyer you probably won't notice any of these issues.
Better buy a new set under €100,- which probably won't be high end but he will get the chance to experience the setup (i.e. Hori Apex (via Amazon)). Those wheels will last for a few years, if he really uses it a lot you and your son might be willing to buy a more expensive set.

I’ve got this thing
GT Omega Steering Wheel stand Suitable For Logitech G25, G27, Thrustmaster T500RS and TH8RS Shfiter PS3 - GT5 https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00AVOJZRO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_QBZN0GYZX6G78ADJWYYF
It’s super heavy but it works brilliant. Folds up small (ish) and gets propped against a wall when not using it too
"Bruder" make them.https://www.amazon.de/-/en/bruder-02119-Lexion-Combine-Harvester/dp/B07M5CPLBL/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=bruder+claas+lexion&qid=1628353168&sr=8-4
They make tons of Real World tractor models with really great Detail.
If you want a joystick, I'd look into buying either a good one for the right hand only (don't buy cheap, I've made the mistake) or choose a double handed setup like this one Edit: I don't own the double one, I just imagine that it'd be better
I have the Thrustmaster T-Flight Hotas X. It doesn’t have a self-centering throttle. It only costs about $65 here in the US. I found it on Amazon.nl for €89,79. It is temporarily out of stock. https://www.amazon.nl/Thrustmaster-262762-T-Flight-Bedieningshendel-Throttle/dp/B00617KA06
Can get it from Amazon UK delivered for cheaper than on Steam just now.
I have that exact setup and it's a lot of fun and worth it. That heavy equipment side panel works on many other games. I also use this set up for the Truck Sim games.
An extra thing I added was a Steering Wheel Suicide Spinner. It fit perfectly on the wheel where that blue metal strip is at the top. Here is the one I ordered:

Not for at least double the price of either console, or more. Also when you go looking for a PC to put a graphics card into, make sure you don't get an "Ultra-Slim", here's an example: https://www.amazon.com/HP-Elite-8300-Ultra-Slim-USDT/dp/B00L5PDSWG

Small Form Factor is as small as you can go and still be able to put a graphics card in it, an Ultra-Slim has no room inside for any type of expansion card.

I wanted a cheap laptop last year to play FS17. I paid $640 for this laptop from Amazon https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01FJFN2DC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 in august. Not sure why the price jumped up since then. Runs FS17 and other games very well.
I use an xbox 360 controller hooked up to this. I have 6 rechargeable AA batteries and charge 4 when I put in the last 2 ready ones. I probably change my batteries twice per month and I log a lot of hours on it.
I use this mouse thing with my surface pro. Works awesome because you don't need a desk and your not limited with having to hold a controller. abcGoodefg® 2.4G Wireless USB Handheld Finger Trackball Mouse (Black+Red) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00URDNGH4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_45Ojyb00HVK73
I pre-ordered on amazon... Prime members get 20% off if you pre-order, and they have the release date as October 16th... not holding my breath that I will get it that early, but if it doesn't work out I still have plenty of time to cancel and buy it elsewhere.

Does FS2015 support a 6DOF joystick/mouse, like Space Navigator? It's compact and gives you an extra axis to assign. Not many games support them, but some do.
