Shit, I thought I sent this reply before I left -- Here is what I ended up doing after some trial and error with how I could best mount the wire and everything: I used EL wire, I bought my wire locally but its also all over Amazon. I wired them to the battery but the wires run on AC power, not the DC power the battery is producing, so I wired in an inverter just before each EL wire to convert the DC to AC. Each side of my bike uses 1 9ft EL wire, I think I spent maybe $20 total. I found a bit of superglue was the best way to hold the wire on the bike with straight lines as the EL wire likes to get all wavy otherwise. And in order to break up the single lengths of wire into separate shapes, I drilled wire-size holes in the fairings where I could run the wire in and out of view at the spots where I wanted to hide the wire.
The coax port port I got from Amazon.
The heated gear I bought at a local Cycle Gear. It was their Hotwired line made by Sedici.
The gloves were the best investment for me as my hand hurt when it gets really cold. I has also purchased the vest because it was on sale but honestly the jacket has the wires already ran for the gloves through the sleeves and would have been a better choice but what can I say, I'm a cheap ass.
The gear comes with everything you'd need for direct to battery hookups so if you're fine with a wire sticking out of your seat then that is all you will need. I went a little OCD and decided to modify mine to be a hard mounted port instead. I chose the piece I did because it is super inexpensive (maybe $5 USD) if I broke it where as the painted pieces can run near $75-$100 USD.
Install is super easy if you're familiar with taking the plastics off the bike. I have lots of practice so I can usually accomplish this in a few minutes. The coax port I had to modify a few things to make it work. The first was cutting the hole in the plastic and the second was the piece directly under it was interfering with the wiring so I had to trim a small portion off to allow the wires some breathing room. You can't see this when it is all assembled so I didn't mind.
Another side note is you can only run so many things with this bike. Some calculators I've ran across say the vest and gloves I run is pushing it so don't go crazy and get the entire heated setup if the bike's charging system can't handle it.
Hope this helps!
Paddle type paddock stands from Amazon
Pretty much universal.

Yes!! I've been following them on instagram and their FZ-07R has been looking amazing. Not really the style for me personally, but it's still awesome to see what they're doing with the platform.
I have the Night Fluo and I love the look of it. Honestly regarding the wheels, they aren't as big as a problem as people make them out to be. I clean them maybe once a week and they always look relatively clean regardless. Especially the front wheel. The chain is what makes the rear get dirty much faster than the front. I use this spray to clean them https://www.amazon.com/Best-Wheel-Tire-Cleaner-Amazon/dp/B014V9GFJU . It may be the reason mine don't get as dirty as everyone claims they do, but it's a non-issue in my opinion.

Same type should also be available on Amazon. Think they fit stock bars without issue, but my Renthals required some fiddling with mounting hardware. (inside diameter on Renthals is narrower, so convenient...)
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00RM26LXO This is what I put on mine. Half the cost, it's just a relay.
Thanks!
The windscreen was a freebie. Not sure what brand it is, but I found it a little short for touring and just replaced it with this one from Puig.
The mirror is a CRG mounted low.
Congrats, time to get end cap spools.
I run these
They are good for about 1 good airborne yeeting
If your axle nut is torqued there shouldn't be able force on those. If you do ride it, be easy and monitor your tire to make sure it's aligned
That is definitely an option. The more I look into it, the more I'm leaning in that direction. I'll update here if I do end up going that route. Here's a photo of the bike. I'm loving the look, but the space right above the headlight was obviously never intended to be visible, so I'd like to cover it up.
The headlight I bought was this one from Amazon. Pretty cheap, and the mounting brackets that come with it are garbage, but the headlight itself seems to be pretty high quality so far. As for wiring the turn signals, this headlight has amber turn signals built into the running lights, so it has dedicated wires for each.
I have a 2016 and when I first got it home I had a real issue with lurching and choppy throttle response. I did a little reading and found out it was pretty common and that most people fixed it by changing the throttle tube. Amazon says I bought this, although the description and price are a little different now than when I bought it.
Swapping the throttle tube was night and day. The bike responds like it should when you twist the throttle and there is no longer a choppy feeling when I shift.
What makes it better than the numerous H4 led bulbs you can get from Amazon? I went with this one https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M0DY6GA and it’s been working great but if I’m missing out on something amazing I’m not opposed to changing.
There are a few different sellers on Amazon selling this same tail light:
I bought these ones from Amazon, they are cheaper but I have had no problems with them at all. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NNL37IK/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It's EL Wire, you can get it from amazon, ebay, adafruit.com, etc - really easy to set up.

It's EL Wire, you can get it form amazon, ebay, adafruit.com, etc - it's just wired to the bikes electrical system - buy a 12v set. It's very simple to wire, can be bent and cut freely.
Example product: https://www.amazon.com/Light-String-Strip-Power-Inverter/dp/B01IOKPPKM/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1545800524&sr=8-7&keywords=el+wire+12v

They are alright. I had to break the adhesive and remove one of the mirror pieces to tighten a bolt from the back, and you need to be careful about inserting the throttle side mirror too far or when you tighten it it will lock the throttle in place.
I didn’t used the factory aux plug. I have the leads for a battery tender connected to my battery with the connector in the tail compartment. I used the battery tender USB adapter Battery Tender USB Charger Adaptor https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DJ5KEF4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_XcTuFbMX2YYWP and a 6 foot iPhone cable that I ran up the frame to the handlebars. This way I can disconnect the charger and leave it in the tail when I don’t ride for a week or more. Also have quick access at the tail to connect a trickle charger if needed

I bought these for my 2018 mt07.
I can't recommend them enough. These come with the bar ends so you don't need to buy anything else to install them. They are a little bit pricey, but I have dropped the bike twice hitting the mirror both times and they are fine.
Thanks! When u guys say amazon do you mean this one? https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B09B1PCHMM/ref=ewc_pr_img_2?smid=AM10F8GSGUNPE&psc=1
Theres a decent amount of them (just making sure its the right one.)
I bought this.
It works. Be wary that the "chrome" started to rust after one winter. But until I find a better option...shrug.
Like people already said, I take it with me when I can. But for times when I need to leave it, I bough a cheap gun lock and run that through the helmet and it's D rings, then through an exposed part of the bike's frame. No issues so far
I have a 2016 and I threw this in last November. Bright enough for me and it was basically plug and play. Just popped the old burnt-up halogen out and plugged this in. Good regular light spread and the high beams are strong. Plus it was only $20 and nothing's caught fire or anything so I'm happy with it.
was it this one? i've watched some videos on those and others have said it's a lot louder. i was hoping to find something a little louder than stock but not as loud an aftermarket full system.
I also replaced the 2016 "armor grey" plastics with 2017 silver. Photo
Next up: * CRG Arrow bar-end mirrors * LED turn signals
Here's what I replaced the stock lightbulb with. I only used one so I have a spare. Beamtech H4 LED 8000 LM
If you have the means I highly recommend a vacuum brake bleeder, makes the job even easier, especially doing the front (does require an air compressor). Can probably find one cheaper than what I linked.
AMAZON its a couple dollars more but they will ship to ca
I'm about to do the David Moss suspension upgrade. Got the parts and tools in just today, in fact!
He says that all you need is a pipe cutter - you can buy them at any hardware store. I bought this beast but you can almost certainly get a $15 one that'll do the job. From the video, they're not very thick; a hacksaw would probably be fine too.
Don't let inexperience scare you from doing a little bit of rudimentary metal work - it's more forgiving than wood.
This is what I have and love it. For 13 bucks and it has a charger built into it cant beat it.

I actually have a cheap Chinese knock off from eBay. Its pretty nice am about 5'11 and I just need to tuck just a tiny bit going around 75-80mph. Definitely recommend if you do have the cash buy the OG. But theres always ebaylol👍😅
Here’s a link to a similar set, mine are no longer available but they were even cheaper than these. Just make sure to go over the hardware on them before installing to be sure nothing will fall apart on you as they seem to have little care when tightening bolts.
damn i can't find the ones i had cause i think i bought them in person a long time ago. I would just look for ones that are comfortable on the waist and have as much perineal padding as possible. bike shorts are tight enough that they should fit under your pants/jeans. My setup was: boxer briefs, then the bicycle shorts, and then my SS kevlar motorcycle jeans and everything was comfortable (i normally bitch about pants being tight on my thighs/waist area too).
you want padding along the lines of something like this (FYI i don't have these):

I grabbed this one off Amazon. Only had it for about two weeks but its done well so far. I can store a water bottle, a hat, then misc small items.

I love the look of this one! From what I managed to find 07 headlight was basically replaced with older 09 variant so wiring may be very close as well.
Seeing this one being compatible with both bikes makes it even more credible: https://www.amazon.com/Atoplite-Original-Designed-Headlight-Motocycle/dp/B07GQ9NG43
So.... Anyone tried?
I'm using these cheap amazon ones, I didn't use the end caps they came with since the mirrors fit over the stock bar ends. They're pretty great considering the price and look great. Visibility is decent, though I have to readjust them more often than I'd like since they tend to shift a bit at high speeds. For that reason I'm considering spending more on some legit ones, but these are still good if you don't wanna shell out 100 bucks a mirror

From what I have read on other forums for the MT07 and FJ09, 2017 and up has the correct communication protocol to work with the OBD2 readers. The Amazon link for this device also states the same: https://www.amazon.com/moto-solutions-Diagnostic-Adaptor-Yamaha-Motorcycle/dp/B07W1BKQ9F Unfortunately, none of the forums have clarified if that is as simple as a V1.x of the CAN protocol on the OBD2 readers instead of V2.x or if it won't work with any OBD2 readers. I haven't found anyone that successfully read codes from a pre 2017.

Also, once cleaned it with plastic wax (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Meguiars-G15812EU-Ultimate-Plastic-Restorer/dp/B0044090GC) and that leaves a film of, what I guess is, nylon. I almost slipped off the bike everytime. Never doing that again.

I’m currently preoccupied with work, but I’ll be installing it on Sunday or Monday, I can let you know how it goes.
I just bought some Pirelli Angel ST's for my bike. They've been around for a long time, so there are thousands of good reviews on them. Everyone says they last a long time, and handle excellent in wet and dry conditions. I just put them 2 weeks ago, and it's winter, so I don't have enough miles on them to comment yet. Amazon has them for $199 for the pair, which is amazing. Some of the reviews have complaints about the tire being made in 2012, but that seems to have been debunked. There is a 2012 number on the tire, but that isn't the manufacturing date. Both of the tires I got were made in 2019.
I just ordered a set of Pirelli Angel ST's. They've been around for over a decade, so they are way cheaper than a lot of other sport touring tires. Amazon sells front/rear combo for $199. Lots of good reviews on these tires too.
I use this one from Amazon. I have it on the left side of the bars. There's room for it, but just barely. You're phone isn't going anywhere if you have it strapped into this. Last night on my way home from work, I had the most violent tank slapper ever at 80 mph. I have no idea how I held on, but I did (the inside of my legs are beat to shit, but nothing some Ibuprofen and whiskey couldn't fix). Anyway, about 5 minutes later (I still had a 25 min ride after the tank slapper), I noticed my phone and the mount didn't move at all. Both of my CNG bar end mirrors were hanging limp because the force of the shake loosened all of the screws, but the friggin phone mount was solid as a rock.

You can call it what you want but M4 calls it a slip on and that’s what it is sold as. It’s extremely popular due to price and you don’t need to change headers. Cut the pipe and “slip it on”. You can call it a cat delete if you want as thats accurate but you still put a muffler back on.
I wouldn't use this that way. I'd just buy one with paddles, or buy spools and use this with them.
But keep in mind, paddle lifts are every bit as secure as spools, and very inexpensive (and practical on virtually any dual sided swingarm bike). An example: https://www.amazon.com/Venom-Motorcycle-Swingarm-Paddle-Kawasaki/dp/B00AV8HSA6/
I've been using one of these for many years on a variety of bikes including, but not limited to, an MT07 and MTT09. You adjust the paddles so they fit snug against the swingarm on either side (L shaped paddles) and underneath just forward of the rear axle. These are so stable, I'll drag my bike around by the front tire while it's on the rear stand with no rear wheel without the slightest concern. $50 and you're done. There's also a matching front triple tree stand.
It's not me, sadly.
But I've looked into it before for my own purposes and lots of people use something like this: https://www.amazon.ca/TASCAM-DR-05V2-Portable-Digital-Recorder/dp/B004OU2IQG/ref=sr_1_11?keywords=zoom+mic&qid=1553720422&s=gateway&sr=8-11
They just wrap the mics in foam or mic muff fur.
You can get shockingly good results with a wired mic inside your helmet too if you're creative - plus you can talk into it if motovlogging is your thing.
great. only thing is none of em is shipped to my country. i found 01-0093 that does. I doubt there is any difference that would stop me from installing it amazon link
